I really like the variety of things you can make here, though I would like the ability to select multiple parts for editing my ships in the dock...
One of the Best Games for Designing Battleships, or Ships in General. This Game Balances Simplicity and complexity. You want to Build a Simple ship with little Detail? You can do that. You want to Build a Ship with Moderate Detail? You can also do That. Do you want to Build a Historical Replica of the KMS Bismarck, analyzing Every Little Detail, Imperfection, using Blueprints that you Bribed the Government for and so on? Yeah sure go ahead, you can do it. Unlike a Certain other game that was Abandoned and also is Unfinished (ahem Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts). I'd honestly recommend this game if you just want to Build Ships and not be limited by Hull Designs and such.
Attacking from the sky is the work of despicable people!
7/10
A fun game about going crazy spending tons of hours designing the best ships in the world. it lacks a good tutorial, many parts are on chinise and there is no campaign. Also, i can't tell how to gain "respect" for some achievements :(
rammed a battleship into a air craft carrier :)
Mucho cannon = mucho boom = mucho happiness
fantastic
I had a lot of fun with the multiplayer, we did a couple 1v1s and 2v2s
As a veteran of Battleshipcraft and Warshipcraft I have had a long period of where I wanted a more indepth game like this. Well when I had seen this I was hesitant at first but then I spent a naval deployment getting the initial hang of things and soon after than I learned Carrier were coming to the game and I got even more into it. Since then I want to think I got really good at it and have made several ships on the workshop. In all I appreciate what the devs have done for the genre when games like UAD or Rule the Waves are complicated for some to learn.
As a whole this really gets that itch of wanting to build ships from the very ground up and how ever you want to build them. Be it historical, historically inspired, or even straight up just new and wild designs no sane human would come up with. But it's all worth it really once you learn how blocks work, buoyancy and so much more. Great work and keep up the updates as this game really has the potential to be even better than it already is
THIS IS SO GOOD
50/50.
You can build any kind of ship here, from gunboat to CVN and SH BB, engage in WoWS-like combat and have pretty much fun. The problem is that you need to invest inadequately large efforts and lots of time and pain to achieve that.
The main part is Adjustable hull, and you build the ship by having hundreds of those, adjusting their parameters individually. This approach was OK like 10-15 years ago, but today, as we have a well-known tank building game with Blender-like editor, this approach is flawed to death.
Modules & decorations are not attached to the hull parts or each other. Thus, if you need to move some structure, e.g. fore or aft tower, you need to move EVERY single part. Some parts (e.g. Mast 1 or trapezoid adjustable hull) has click hitbox so large that it won't let you select nearby parts.
If you want to make your ship hull 1m longer/wider, again, you need to move and resize every single part. And may God have mercy on you, if you have already placed hunderds of portholes (which you have to place and angle each individually).
Adjustable hull itself is not convenient to use. To make a non-isosceles trapezoid, you need to rotate the block, swapping the length and height, and use height offset and scale.
If you want to paint the deck of your ship, you need to place another hull, adjust it's size and position so it repeats the shape of the deck, and only then paint it. You can't simply paint a single side. Same applies for armor.
Engines are not present, the thing powering your ship is the funnel. Placing multiple funnels leads to unpredictable results. Place a 8000hp + 300hp funnels - you get 13000 hp. Place another 300 hp - power goes down.
The battle is way too arcade. Compared to ship combat simulators, you don't have a separate HP bar for floodings (or any flooding simulation); you have no problem hitting the enemy from 20 km with 20-50% accuracy (should be less than 3%!). AP non-penetrations still do damage (??). Penetrations to aft and fore do lots of damage (all-or-nothing armor scheme? lol).
Multiplayer is non-playable.
To sum up, this game has a great potential, but lacks proper implementation. Many aspects are not thought through. Wish to see it improved.
If you are a naval nerd, whether it be Military, or Civilian, this game is for you.
it contains a large, and detailed ship building mechanic, and it is up to you to decide how much detail you build into your ships. spend 5 minutes, 5 hours, or 5 days on any ship, of any size, and any amount of detail, when your ship is done, test it! take it out, see how she well she floats (or how well she sinks..)!
test your ship against other ships! in 1v1 scenarios, or create a custom scenario!
explore the steam workshop to download other peoples builds, download mods to enhance your experience, or share your own creations!
the possibilities of what you can do are endless, only limited by your imagination!
10/10, recommended to everyone i know!
love, yes
Would be great if there were more late/postwar naval aircraft like the Sea fire Mk.Vll, Sea fire FR Mk.47, Sea Fury FB 11 etc & maybe some 1950s naval jet fighter
i enjoy creating boat indeed
This is a great sandbox game. It desperately needs a more structured campaign. If I were designing it, I envision a progressively more difficult mission track, with in-game currency rewards for mission success. Buying/unlocking new ship components with this currency, to complete the missions to the end game. This would be quite amazing, especially with the support for multiplayer already. At the 14.99 price tag, it offers a reasonable amount of game-play. Again, other than taking cool pictures of ships you make there isn't any intrinsic reward for building them, as far as I can tell. Try and get this on sale, if possible. Really quite fun, just needs more structure for replay-ability.
nice game
boatus
OMG FUNNEST GAME EVER IN HISTORY
really good for pushing your creativity to the limits
cool
This game is very amazing on what it does, and i Truly LOVE it. i might even love this game more then even World of Warships. I love the design aspect of it a lot, and playing as the ship i designed is incredible. The community is very nice as well, which is one of many reasons why i prefer this game over WoWS.
With that being said, I hope this game develops successfully and hopefully be added for the game of the year rewards for PC
A side note- if there's a Collab (with series like Arpeggio of Blue Steel, High School Fleet, Zaipang, ect) that will be part of a Paid DLC, ill def will buy it in a heartbeat <3
The game is increadibly poorly documented and has no tutorial of any kind, due to poor documentation and poor UI 99% of it is completely nonfunctional
I can't even get in the game. I played for 3 days.
Game rất hay, nhiều mod. Nhưng chỉ khuyến khích cho những người thật sự thích tàu chiến và đã từng chơi qua các trò chơi tương tự như wows,...
love this game got back into it with the new carrier systems love the new planes but will it get modern jets?
Absoultely phaomanial game
I want a refund
BOAT SEX
BOAT SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEX
Lovely and unique game with great devs and an exceptional modding community IMHO.
The new carrier update is kind of their own take on the old WOWs carrier gameplay if you miss handling your squadrons like that. Gameplay is a bit funky and there's a few bugs, and it should be noted that this is a modelling arcade game, not a simulator like Sea Power.
Played this for the first time in a couple of years and I still regret paying for it. The game now has a tutorial (who knows how long that took to get added) but it simply stops working halfway through the second chapter.
While I respect the dev's choice to add lots of shiny cool-looking new features (probably to placate the deranged obsessives who seem to flock to games like this), what the game really needs in my view is improved/streamlined hull design. The current system is excruciating to use. Sprocket or even SimplePlanes would be good examples to look at for having relatively idiot-proof editors for hulls in particular.
Props to the developer for at least sticking with the project rather than abandoning it like a few other EA vehicle-building games out there.
If you like building ships or just fighting them this game is for you
This game is great for people who enjoy ships and naval warfare. The best part about it to me is the building process. You're only limited by your imagination and you can get as detailed as you want to. Then when you're done, you can fight the ship. See how long you can take air raids in the "test" area, or take your creation up against other ships.
Not much of a game. Should be a free tech demo.
Played this on and off for a long time, good fun.
iTS A FANTSTIC BUILDER, AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT GROW AND FLOORISH
I played battleship craft and warship craft on Ipad when it first came out... Sadly they are now defunct due to neglect from devs. When I heard about Naval Art I immediately thought of those two amazing games, at the time this game is a dream come true.
And I can say with certainty: Everything I ever wanted was the expectation I had going in, and it still gave me
so much more than I could've hoped for. For WW1-WW2 Ship fanatics, a must-have game.
Shitbrick 萬岁
Overall a very good sandbox game, Slow but good in quality. The community is thriving with an active discord, and the solo developer turning out quality content. While Naval Art has much to offer in the base game, the modding community opens much more opportunities for player's creativity. The game does take a while to learn, and can be very slow at many times, but otherwise gives you much of the tools to make whatever you want. The game gives full creative powers to you, allowing you to make creations from small ships, to supermassive ones.
this game is absolutely amazing, being allowed to make absolute powerhouses or a battleship packed with destroyer guns is really fun
Finally an answer to the question: "what if the royal navy had a 702 gun super mega dreadnought in their fleet instead of the Hood when they attacked Bismark?"
NavalArt is a good game for those who like building ships. With aircraft carriers being in beta most types of warships can built if you are willing to spend the time and effort to do so. If you get the game I would recommend getting a few mods as the selection of parts is limited currently.
Excellent game - imaginative and very enjoyable. You have to sort through the workshop offerings but some of them are really brilliant.
In this game, you can build pretty much any kind of ship you want, using parts and weapons from a multitude of countries and eras. My only problem with it is that I wish I could create my own guns/turrets and modify the caliber, propellant, shape of turret, etc. But I still highly recommend it.
.
Hope to see this game reach 1.0. the best naval sandbox by far on the market. 1700s-modern times are there in the modding scene.
Ships go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
too many glitches to play
battleships? yeah!
Fun boat game
