Story
Springtime.
The season of the cherry blossoms, and a time of new beginnings, new encounters, and new people.
For Aoba Kyousuke, this new season marks the start of his second year in high school, and after taking a moment to reflect and looking at the friends around him...
All he can find is a dumbass too horny for his own good, and a weirdo who can't get over his strange fetish for lizard-humanoid creatures.
Sure enough, he enjoys hanging out with them, and he wouldn't ever think of giving it up,
but something feels missing. A precious, valuable part of everyone's adolescence, and something he might just miss out on at this rate...
What is that something? Why, love. So upon realizing this, he shouts out to the world--
"I WANT A GIRLFRIEND!"
He'll need to give it his all, of course, because he knows that love does not come to those who just wait.

I felt physically sick at how disgusting the MC was acting and thinking in the first hour of the prologue. I really don't understand this Japanese "humor".
Purchased this game thinking of romanticizing a little, perhaps wallow in some self pity while kneeling to the goddess of purity.
The game is good.. at first it does seem kinda boring since you're just repeating the same tasks for around 10 days of speaking to these girls and hoping you get to satisfy them with the right questions and answers.
Yet, it was a nice surprise that the game didn't end shortly after being given the chance to confess. The game spends a considerable amount of time afterwards with you being in a relationship with these characters. It's honestly the latter half of the game that makes it worth purchasing in all fairness.
I KNOW NOBODY IS GOING TO READ THIS THAT ISN'T ON MY FRIENDS LIST BUT I'M DOING IT ANYWAYS!!
(minor heads up, later down the review i will suggest you to but this from somewhere else but it's a minor nitpick) dlc in another site (?)
I was contemplating on cross referencing other games like doki-doki, wagamama high specs, love's sweet garnish but It most likely wouldn't help at all for ANYONE reading this out of the blue so i opted to not mention them again
//should mention, unlike wagamama this VN is on the "medium budget sized" ones, no fancy l2d, and the ero scenes suffers a bit due to lacking stuff... and even though it's compact it feels like at the Lovers Arc each character just gets slashed from existence, probably pertaining to the baggage you didn't help resolve with them....Even then i HIGHLY loved the flavour it brought
This review MAJORLY focuses on Himari's route because i tend to not play other routes in visual novels as it lessens the impact of the "first run"
The prologue - i don't get why people are complaining about this, the kind of people to play this game would be VN readers which are practically needs patience among anything else
The protagonist - i have a very negative opinion of this fücker, i know he's a highschooler but the fact that you can even see his dumb thoughts are mostly played off as a joke but you often time can't help but to want to mangle his corpse..... you know the best part? HE DOESNT GET ANY BETTER IN THE LOVERS ARC Sure he's not as dense and a pushover than the other vn protags I've seen but damn sometimes he's just verbally abusive.... Certain lovey dovey scenes are kinda ruined by this guy even down to near the ending of the game he was still Screwin over Himari
The translation - I don't know why but there's a lot of profanity in this game, i know it's very funny but i also can't help that there's quite a bit of creative liberty going on in here. I've heard and played enough JP games to identify if what's being said matches with the localization..... sometimes they don't but I'd rate it a B+
The story, this is a pick your poison kind of thing.. But even that i know each girl has a baggage of their own and the writing is tear-jerking. Each scene hits a lot of punch and you get thrown into uncomfortable scenes forced to relieve your own highschool blunders. For me it hits like a truck when Himari revealed her little secret to you for the first time
And the confession I'm sorry but i just had to read every dialogue by mouth and tears just slowly piled up as you mutter word for word on what's on screen, unfortunately protag ruined it the next day immediately
Choices - HOLY HELL you can actually ask them a lot of things, and you can't do all of them, it makes every player have a different choice within them, it honestly keeps it more personalized and you learn a TON of info about the girl before the lovers arc
Himari - I'm certain a majority of casual Vn player's such as myself did her route, she's just written with so much love and affection. heck in the first "scene" it's less of the act and more of she's given herself to you wholeheartedly
Even then...EVEN THEN ......THE HIMARI LOVERS TRACK..... okay so the original track is a playful happy upbeat song which suits her personality, BUT THE LOVERS TRACK, remixes it into an orchestra, you can hear a single playful instrument at the start but the notes are so high like you're being suffocated by a whirlwind of emotions! and it doesn't help that the first time this plays was during a romantic scene so you always think back to when the "lovers ost" first played
If someone can wipe my memories of this game once a year and i'd have to spend another 40 hours of this each year then i'd WILLINGLY TAKE IT
noow off to the anchored note up top, for some reason the uncensor patch for this game doesn't undo the "nudity overlay" i think they just straight up removed it since the pirated version i had.. HAD IT,, it doesn,t change much but f12 nudity toggle doesnt exist... and the nude sprites are replaced by pajamas, again it only matters in the first afterglow scene for Himari, otherwise it doesn't concern anyone again .. unless you wanna toggle it in the pool xDDDDD
if you wanna try to get this game other than steam i suggest going to the game's webpage htps:/fureraba.nekonyansoft.cm/ (trunced to prevent steam blocking..)
DLC - They have a dlc on the site above which i have yet see if it's compatible with the steam version, i myself am itching desperately for more content and it hurts that it isn't on the steam dlcs page
Lovers arc, spoilers ahead
After the confession you'd really expect for the protag to be more tact with his approach but he just kept pestering Himari, although thankfully she has a patience of a goddess but more often than not you do see her smile and threathen the mc.,... Man the relationship and how they just want to spend time with each other and work to the bone just so they could go on vacation together was really heartwarming, they coud've probably played the Rina rivalvry into more of the story as to have a "Climax" since what ends up happening is that the only dread in the story was the three days they didn't see each other, which maybe pathetic yeah but hey it built up enough tension to get steamy so I approve of it~!
With that said, i enjoyed that some details in the prologue and Friend Arc are still present in the Lovers arc, stuff like how Himari would drag someone to watch movies with and the stuff she likes to eat and how she desperately hates carrots,
The calendar, i wish they didn't remove this to be honest, i mean i guess if you're in a relationship time just flies bye but it felt like stuff was just happening in and out and we didnt really see winter stuff, the last known date was during summer because it's the day Himari went off and in the following days is where the ending happened
As for the ending... god i got a whiplash, i knew it was a more or less expected since i knew i was playing a medium sized game but it really hurts////// it really really hurts to be done with it.. the fact that when i was playing it i was emotionally devastated, now i just feel hollow inside,
I'll probably write more to this, but dang this really really hurts to have it end... If anyone is curious on the dlcs, comments is allowed on this post for discussions
Are you perhaps friendless since the day you know you are?
This is definitely for you.
Friend to Lover... or just try it in IRL.
This game wants me to puke at being surreal, that I'm crying.
I'll be refunding this game for now. 50% discount is too small for me, as a slave in a corporate world.
At the very least, make it 75%...
But NN making it like that? I have no hope...
It's very good, but the overuse of expletives and the translation not always conveying what the Japanese writer actually wrote leaves me disgusted with the translator. Writers only use expletives when their vocabulary is inadequate and lacking.
The writer wrote that spiders are arthropods, not insects. Phylum Arthropoda is made up of 4 groups, of which both arachnids and insects are included. This leads me to believe that the writer actually meant arachnids, not arthropods. Biology is definitely not one of the writer's strengths.
Rina's bikini is actually a bra design and looks out of place at the pool. Rina is written to have said "eureka" when she actually says "yoo-hoo." Rina's eyes are very ugly. The shape, color (poop) and placement are horrible. Rina's character designer was awful and never should have been given the job.
I bath regularly? No. I bathe regularly is how it is written.
The writer does not know the difference between excretion and secretion. He thinks sweat is a secretion. It is not. It is an excretion because it is exiting the body. Secretions are internal. It is easy to remember because it is done in "secret." Is biology not being taught in school anymore?
The translator also uses stupid words like gonna and stuff when writing a love confession which completely and utterly ruins the mood. He has obviously never had a girlfriend and completely lacks the means to articulate feelings properly without using crass expressions or inappropriate slang. The person who did the translation has a very filthy mind and he thinks we want to see it too. He is also the English translator for Sankaku Renai, which was obvious when I started seeing expletives and coarse language every other sentence. He also made the protagonist seem like a total jerk, nearly ruining the story for me.
In the game it was written that giraffes are not herbivores and that they eat meat. That is dead wrong. Giraffes are herbivores.
TBAC (Matthew Carolan) is one of my least favorite translators. He uses the word "legit" in seemingly every other sentence, wearing out its novelty within a few paragraphs.
Fureraba is very good, but the overuse of expletives, incorrect wording and misspelling made it far less enjoyable than it could have been. TBAC's writing is so bad that I had to ctrl-skip through most of the game's dialogue.
At least the voice acting was very well done.
FYI: It's spelled chihuahua, not chiwawa.
6/10
