In October of 2017, Jill Count held an IRL streaming event from within the haunted hospital of Saint Heart. The events there left her forever changed and able to now see ghosts.
Haunted by the ghost of a young man she met there, Jill travels to find Tyrone, hoping he can help her.
Finding him missing, she is quickly roped into helping save him.
Little does she know what she is actually walking into.
Finishing this story unlocks the other two stories. A ~2 hour long adventure filled with goofs and spooks.
Infiltrate a high school, hunt down a ghost that's murdering other ghosts, and try not to get lost along the way. A cupcake filled adventure lasting ~1 hour and 30 minutes.
Enjoy a quiet Hallow's Eve with Jill, Owen and a wistful spirit from the past. An atmospheric, heartfelt adventure of ~30 minutes.
Ripley accompanies Marcus as he goes looking for a new place to live, when they end up hunting more than just a house.
An amazing cast of voice actors help bring the characters to life.
Jill Harris - Jill Count
Alex Weber - Owen
Quinn O'Quinn - Tyrone
Amy Saville - Ripley
Josh Putnam - Marcus
Lauren Kawamura - Tulip
And many more.

what a spooky game brah
Update: Finished the game now. the first one is long enough, last 3 are all pretty short bits about the characters, it really makes me wish there was a 3rd one
its good, one longer story, and the rest are shorter i assume though ive only played the first 2, its an interesting set of connected stories with a few slightly different endings but overall the same, and some funny bits
i got interested in checking out ithaqua labs other works but it seems that the indie studio may be dead/disbanded/insert proper word here, i did more digging than i probably shouldve and in anything ive found there hasnt been anything in since around 2020, they had a site but its gone now
A bit of a shame that this series ended. I wish that there was a 3rd game. While the current art is pretty. I liked the old one better.
Everything about the game is superb, but..
My only complaint is that the overall narrative gets in its own way trying to be hip, and fresh.
I just wanted spoopy..
I really liked the voice acting in this game. Wished the story would be expanded some more, but it's actually pretty short, which could be something you need especially since the game is divided further into four loosely connected stories. If you're like me and you want to watch a tv series but wind up frustrating yourself because you keep rewinding every 5 seconds, then this game is for you to go at your own pace.
I loved the story and the characters. I'm looking forward to another chapter, brah.
Graphics and voice over, very nicely done.
Story line is interesting too but at some areas felt like forced conversation.
Overall enjoyable experience.

This game is absolutely great, filled with fun characters and interesting world. I haven't even beaten it yet but I hope they will one day make a third. The art is stylish and lovely, the voice acting immaculate and hilarious when it needs to be. The music is perfectly timed and well themed.
This is probably the most delightful visual novel series I've ever experienced. It uses the tried and true formula of introducing stock characters and fleshing them out over time. The writing is generally good, if a little too reliant on pop culture references in the second act. The actors knock every line out of the park; it may be the best voice acting I've heard in an indie game. I strongly recommend it, and hope the series becomes a trilogy. It feels like there is room in the lore to crank out one or two more games.
Very good game, the 4th story could have been longer, but other than that perfect.
kinda buggy, but awesome?.
it wont let open in fullscreen, but it lets you re-size the window view so its not much of a problem.
the story is an absolute banger, or as owen would say "its like super rad brah" awesome world building and a good opener for a next chapter a bit of an anticlimatic ending tho but that is overpowered by the cliffhanger about marcus family.
it sorta remind me of scooby doo mistery inc? but also series like gravitty falls and under the dome... some how?
over all a solid 8/10
If you played and liked the first one, you'll like this one too. If you haven't played the first one.. it's high quality and free, and please do check it out.
Neat art, good voice acting, especially for an ELVN, interesting effects, good writing, and interesting characters. I do wish there was more of Tyrone? but maybe if there's another one it'll focus some on him. Really liked seeing more Ripley and learning about her.
Properly, properly amazing. I loved the first Perceptions of the Dead and Ithaqua Labs' sequel is twice as good. Beautiful and heartwarming and dramatic and thrilling and above all, absolutely hilarious! It's quite rare to find VNs where every joke lands.
Pretty much everything has already been said in other reviews, but I will mention the lack of interior monologues in PotD2: narration is minimal, with nearly all lines being (fully-voiced) dialogue, which is a real plus. The dialogue absolutely sparks, thanks to great writing and brilliant voice actors, and works so much better than the stuffy, angst-ridden monologues I find myself trawling through in other VNs.
Thanks so much, Ithaqua Labs! I think this may just be my favourite VN.
From the very beginning, Perceptions of the Dead 2 distinguishes itself from other visual novels in just how fluid and animated it feels! The smooth, vibrant animations make this game feel more real - and as if the characters have leapt off the page from a 90's style cartoon. If you like visual novels, you'll be in for a delightful (and charming) treat from the get-go! I was enamored and impressed with how unique this game felt.
The stories within PotD2 were also heartwarming and yet delightfully spooky; a perfect kind of Halloween game, situating itself between comedy and drama with the right amount of humor. If you're a fan of 90's-era Cartoon Network & Nick shows, you'll feel right at home playing PotD2 and getting to know its characters. Gameplay is rather straightforward, with choices dictating the story – and while there aren't a lot of choices ( compared to what you might find in another VN), the ride is so much fun that you'll want to stick around to the very end.
English:
A sympathetic visual Novel, proposing 4 stories at the moment.
The first two are longer and the choices change many things.
Fully dubbed (in English) and cheap.
Français:
Un Visual Novel sympathique, proposant pour l'instant 4 histoires.
Les deux premières sont plus longues et les choix modifient beaucoup de choses.
Entièrement doublé (en anglais) et pas cher.
This Universe feels so real (It gives me 90s Nickelodeon vibes, where animations were driven by narratives that were meant to provoke thought amongst teenagers and young adults, while being moderated with comic relief so the message can be consumable. All the characters are very relatable in an organic way drawing you emotionally and psychologically, because the story is able to show forth their traits in-depth. Each character you can truly appreciate for their own uniqueness while being opposing or complimenting towards other personas. The dialogue isn't befuddled by political-correctness, as the perception of each character is able to shine bright, which just adds to the aforementioned feature. I'm definitely looking forward to sequels! ;)
Played the first 101 minutes into this game. It's a really nice game and all but somehow, I missed the previous one as I played on. It seems like maybe it's just me that I still prefer the older Jill Count appearance instead of this one. However, for story wise, this one has a good depth on it and it's nice to see the characters from the previous stories are mingled together. So to make it brief, It's a nice and worthy of the $, especially if you are like me, wanted to follow into Jill Count's paranormal adventures!
Perceptions of the Dead, both 1 and 2 are very good visual novel games, obviously being a visual novel, it’s not the kind of game for hardcore professional games; it’s the type of game you play when you’re killing time and trying to relax.
Both 1 and 2 are great in the sense that they keep the ‘player’ captivated, the story wastes nothing in content, being an ever unfolding series of suspense, while not stacking up too much suspense all in one go and overloading the ‘player.’ It also falls under the horror genre, but never quite frightening enough to scare away the player, again it’s more suspense than fear. Not to forget to mention it’s filled with a colorful and lovable cast, who help often balance out the the tensions with humor and cute moments.
This is a great game for anyone just looking for something to kill time and relax. And I for one am a huge fan who can’t wait for the next story in Perceptions of the dead 2!
I love this game it is so fun!!!! It has awesome voice acting aswell and has a great plot, can't wait for the next chapter keep up the great work!!!!!:)
This story is just so much FUN! The voice acting is amazing.
There's not much by way of interactivity, but it's not a completely kinetic novel. Play the first one, which is free, to get an idea of what you're going into. Part 2 is well worth the price of admission if, like me, you loved Part 1.

A resounding recommendation for anyone who enjoyed the first. I myself just found these due to the release of this one, played through the first and immediately purchased this one, where the first told three separate tales, this one takes those tales and weaves the characters together as they embark on their adventure. Featuring the same quality art and voice acting with even better dialogue and writing, this is an intriguing, surprising, spooky, and fun-filled visual novel. If you haven't heard of these before, then go check out the first, it's free, so you've got nothing to lose.
