Short game with VERY basic gameplay but cute artstyle, great pixel art and fun likeable characters. It's ok for what it is.
Hey, it's fine. Simple, light-hearted, hijinks with a fair amount of fanservice. That being said, it feels like a high quality freeware game more than a product I would buy. the content is minimal, and the Simon-Says style gameplay is somewhat grating over time. You spend too much time copying sequences on the directional pad for a game that really shouldn't have even bother putting in a combat mini-game.
It's like a sweet little treat at 5 bucks. I wouldn't buy at full price
Play as a voluptuous supernatural investigator named Anna who travels to an amusement park constructed inside the imagination of a friendly gentleman who makes churros, cosplay outfits, and dances for her, where she decides to retire from her job and takes over the park, making that gentleman her father, and a self-doubting coworker tasked with detaining her into her boyfriend, while dealing with the mess a cute, awkward, and equally busty nightmare-fueled girl causes all over the place.
You basically get that and a whole bunch of other things in Black Dream, an adorable, fascinating, and overall sexy and strangely wholesome game. The protagonist is very whimsical but self-assured, and the characters have distinct personalities revealed with an incredible amount of original handmade full-screen pixel art scenes. It feels like something you would discover on the PC-98, or a classic OVA made into an interactive anime adventure. It's not a visual novel, but not quite a regular RPG. To say it's a hidden object game is not descriptive enough either I feel. Basically, Black Dream is like a toybox for you to uncover a ton of cute and well-made novelties that combine into an adventure with a comical, quirky, and surprisingly sentimental story.
The overall impression Black Dream gives is very much like a lucid dream, with curious, richly detailed, and highly animated environments. A core part of the game is obtaining cute and sexy outfits for Anna that show up in nearly all the hand-drawn cutscenes and the main battle system that drives the gameplay. These outfits can also change the way characters respond to you, and even unlock achievements, hidden scenes, and endings. Black dream has quite a lot to discover, and gets you interested from the start with a great animated title screen and introduction. The game prevents routine as it keeps reinventing itself as you play it. Even with a roughly seven hour runtime to uncover everything, it never feels like you see anything twice. You can easily tell that Black Dream is a labor of love.
Overall, I'd have to say this game is a very fun and good-natured adventure, and makes the best use out of one of the oldest (and greatest) rpgmaker engines. It just got a massive free upgrade too that overhauled the artwork, gameplay, and cutscenes, making it a much better and overall more coherent experience. While it's not made for any particular audience from what I can tell, Black Dream is one of those obscure indie games I think anybody willing to jump into something strange will enjoy quite a lot. Definitely a recommendation from me.

The art style is cute. But the story and the battles are pretty dumb and boring. I guess some of you may find it interesting. Unfortunately I don't.
A quick little game that, while rough around the edges when it comes to the battle mechanic and English, is charming enough to warrant a play through, with nice (and sexy) pixel art and surprisingly catchy music.
The story is quite basic at first, but expands nicely as you progress through the short game. It gets a tad spooky, which I wasn't expecting from something that starts so sweetly. Although the characters lack depth at the beginning, they get nicely expanded upon throughout the game very quickly. Anna in particular lacks quite a bit of direct focus when it comes to writing, but through her interactions with other characters as you learn more about them, you learn more about her, which is quite satisfying considering how much of the focus on her is mostly just perverted humor. (Although I'd be lying if I said her tantalizing costumes and figure weren't a part of my interest in this game :P)
There isn't much to navigating levels. You travel a screen at a time, clearing enemies in it and moving on. Sometimes there are "obstacles" that will damage you if you walk on them, which are quite annoying, as they have odd and fast timing and you only have 3 hit points. During a later part, they're just simply un-fun, and although I was able to get past them, it was definitely the lowest part of the game.
Battles in this game are done via arrow input and in "turns" (how many times you have to input directions) of attack and defense, which really don't affect anything other than the animations. While it's quite fun at first, the time limit you have to input the directions are unnecessarily short. There are costumes you can purchase within the first few levels of the game that increase the time limits by certain amounts. I consider my inputs to be very speedy, and even with max time increases, I find myself cutting it close to running out of time in battles. Fortunately, the penalty for losing is quite forgiving, as you can resume the battle from the turn you were on and a refreshed time limit. Unfortunately, when you lose a battle, you lose 1 of your 3 hit points, and from a certain point on in the game you can no longer acquire recovery items, which are a hassle to acquire in the first place (via roulette game).
There are also a couple issues with the game itself regarding input, such as hitting Shift or X during battles dialogue will cause the menu to come up in the middle of battle, while the battle clock continues to run down. You can also bring the menu up immediately after dialogue, or even before it if it happens right after a battle, as well as in the Game over screen. Whether this is an oversight, or an issue with the game maker (I believe it's using RPG Maker), the game still plays well, and is just a strange annoyance. F4 is also incorrectly labeled as "Zoom", but is actually Fullscreen, which I do not recommend. F5 is the real "zoom" button, which actually zooms out from the default size.
Overall a nice game that I recommend you pick up on a sale if you're into short plays or RPG maker types.
... or if you're into oogling big tiddy anime girls. (Sorry, no nudity in this game)
I absolutely love this game. The music is very well done, catchy and fits the mood. The art work is clearly done with verve and style. The story is fetching, amusing and takes a few interesting turns throughout. Combat is handled in several ways adding to variety. Anna, the main character is ultra cute, and dressing her up in the many different outfits is very rewarding as you see her in various and unique outfit-specific poses. Really fun game. I recommend 101%

Wow what VERY Good Game I Loved it ^^ Anna The MC wanted to have Her very Own Amusement Park All to herself and well that was her Ultimate Goal After all. In order To do this However she Must Battle Weird Creatures in The Man Dream Land and Protect All Humanity. Along the way She Encountered Some rather odd people One person who Wants to Destroy Everything And Anything. The Weirdo As Anna Calls Loves Stalking her along the way So does The Man Person. Theres Certain obstacles That Either Block your path from Continue on or theres certain in Game Events you gotta do like Press ENTER 50 Times In order to clear. Anna Also Battles Monsters Along the way In which you gotta use the arrows Keys To Hit them Also Bosses Are Included As well. Rhe more you progress the harder it is for Anna to hit However You can restart From where you Left off Which is very nice feature I think But Hey Play it for yourself I Loved it The 8 Bit style all pixel And everything Music was Amazing too Def worth the Pickup.
This is a charming little game. The pixel art is all very cute, and the plot isn't extremely intricate and knows it, but still holds an interesting premise. The music in the game is also enjoyable, being presented with chiptunes. The game can be completed in roughly an hour and a half, but there is a little bit of replay value if you fail to do everything correctly the first time- multiple or "adjusted" endings, that kind of thing. Some of the dialogue and costumes are suggestive, but that's about as extreme as the content goes. The gameplay isn't particularly difficult, although the time limits of fights are a little unforgiving at times- thankfully, the developers allow you to restart without consequences in most of the game's battles.
I do have a few concerns. For one, the game doesn't seem to Fullscreen very well, distorting much of the visuals on my system. Apostrophes in the dialogue always show as bugged characters. Lastly, the dialogue in some spots is a little strange, I assume because of translation work? Also, the best way to make money is a slot machine game, and so save scumming, while annoying, is the best method. None of these particularly ruin the game, although the Fullscreen issue is the most disappointing in my eyes.
So all in all, a cute game worth checking out if you want to kill a little time and enjoy some cute pixel art.
I'm gonna go on a limb and suggest that this be played in windowed mode. Granted the game can then be closed more easily than just bringing up the start menu and closing it then.
Other than that, the combat system is neat. Input commands quickly and BANG! A WINNER IS YOU! My final note is that this girl might start appearing in your dreams at night.
Difficult is one thing, but way too many obstacles are just plain annoying. I don't mind having spent the money, but cannot reccomend others to do so as well.
Totally worth spending 4 bucks. Can't wait to play the sequel.
I'll be entirely honest, this isn't anything crazy. The combat is really simple, the plot isn't winning any awards, and the main appeal is getting the main character in sexy outfits. But... much like one sometimes craves junk food, sometimes people want a game like that. Something that isn't necessarily great and is probably bad for you, but you enjoy it nonetheless. That's basically what this game is: junk food in video game form, and for that I recommend it.
I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

A simple short game, cute art and story is nice.
The battles repeat a few sequences so once you remember them the fights are quick and easy.
I fumbled a lot and reeeeeally suck at the avoiding tentacles during the running bit, but overall pretty good experience.
Definitely worth getting, even at full price.
I wouldn't want to wake up from This Man's amusement park either.
A few words are funny, probably something to do with the Korean locale to English text. There is also some white text over white background but typically not a problem.
Another problem is if you accidentally start a training battle during minigame or such, you're gonna' have to reload your save.
