Great
"Fantasy Mosaics 21: On the Movie Set" is exactly like its predecessors in the series: simply 100 fine, colorful nonograms. It took me 9.2 hours to complete. So, even at the list price of almost $7, it's worth it.
janky controls, and no way to restart the puzzle you are on
Apparently, Fantasy Mosaics is a series without novelties anymore, apart for the change of soundtrack or the garden/landscape/movie set in this case. So well, unless the developer releases the games prior to the first one to have been released here, the 14th, you should consider this game as a copy/paste of the 16th-17th-18th-19th-20th. And guess what? The 22th is also falling in this category but I haven't finished it yet.
Well, now, are you ready for a copy/paste of reviews I've done?
Fantasy Mosaics is a series of nonograms (also known as griddlers) games released for iOS and Android before being ported on PC and Mac, though now MatchGems (or Andy Jurko, take your pick) is releasing each version the same day or just a day apart (PC and Mac are released on Big Fish Games before Steam, so, that's how I can say that). I've stumbled upon these games because I'm contributing profiles to Neoseeker and that's how my curiosity was ticked, when the games appeared on Greenlight, when Greenlight was still a thing.
You have a series of numbers indicating how many tiles are used for a drawing in the column or in the line. Sometimes, it's easy as the whole line or column is concerned but at other times, it's really a matter of making your brain work: if for example, three tiles are needed and known, you know that the tiles just next to the beginning and the end can't be used for the column or the rest of the line.
You have twenty levels of five nonograms to solve, though it's just to win a new item (or person or animal) for your garden....oups, sorry, here, it's a castle - a change of scenery! The plot isn't really the main point here as it's just explained at the beginning but then you get nothing else, not even an ending sequence.
You can finish quickly the game, if you don't take the challenge of no hints and no mistakes seriously, like me.
The drawings aren't really connected to each other but it's still great to discover them and to see if you managed to guess them or not.
In other words, if you love that kind of gameplay, you should buy the game, though the full price can be quite discussed as I think that it should be less, with the lack of new features and the fact that while I love the challenge, it is now quite boring to do nonograms without new twists.
