Comment:
This is a continuation of the Human Resources game - review HERE
The game is again a variation on the Assembly language. This time around with more advanced options available too. In fact it's an upgrade in almost every way to the previous one. Though it is still very much IT homework so definitely not for everyone. The two challenges for all levels are speed (the least amount of steps) and size (the least amount of commands used). Sometimes it isn't possible to do both in one code but you have tabs to keep them separate.
We have a strange short story in the background again, this time around with even better music. The Tomorrow Corporation games universe keeps expanding. The soundtrack is fun to listen to and fits the style of the game well.
The user interface stayed simple but is improved. Especially the sound/music toggle although the game always resets and doesn't store your settings after closing. There are no display options except for toggling full screen. Also added was a copy and paste tool so you don't even have to write the code in the game (if you don't want to). You still cannot turn off menu/elevator music, only the music in a level itself.
The game is really cool and worth a try. It kicks off from the blue path in terms of complexity and by the orange path you are able to find ways to "break" the logic. A useful tool in teaching algorithmic thinking and honestly I could see a few schools investing in buying a couple copies.
P.S.: The official soundtrack is available for FREE in "..\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Billion Humans\soundtrack".

World of goo was very fun, but this is somehow questionable. Number royal level has a bug? The jump loop is a questionable mechanic (where is a loop break?)
I had to look online for a lot of it as I never have really understood computing and got fairly confused, but it was still really fun
Code game: cool
Manager joke: bravo
Mixed Feelings for a Programmer
I played 7 Billion Humans for a bit, and while the concept is intriguing, it didn't quite meet my expectations. The gameplay felt like working in a low-level language, reminiscent of assembly or smart contracts, which can be quite limiting. As a programmer, I'm used to more advanced features and fluidity that tools like Copilot or CodeWhisperer provide.
The lack of a toggle between text and non-text modes also hindered the experience. It felt like solving small puzzles without a bigger picture or end goal, which left me unmotivated. Additionally, the knowledge that AI can generate these solutions takes away the joy of discovery.
Overall, the game might be fun for those new to programming, but for someone who no longer codes manually, it didn't provide the challenge or satisfaction I was looking for.
If you like Human Resource Machine (which you should do first), then this is for you, it adds the complexity layer of multithreading, so you have to think in a different way than on the first game, it's a bit more chaotic and unexpected, but also a great programming game
I'm a programmer, and this game gave me a run for my money.
Very fun and endearing game, definitely recommend.
This game is a solid way to learn the basics of algorithms and programming.
It is perfect for kids and junior developers who want to spend time solving great puzzles.
My previous quarter at university I took a beginner's programming course. I'm not a comp-sci or STEM person at all, but I found the puzzle-solving aspect present in a lot of the assignments very enjoyable. I haven't played a lot of it yet, but this game scratches the same itch. I recommend if you enjoy logic puzzles/brain teasers - no programming knowledge or aptitude necessary.
As a computer scientist, I thought this would probably be easy. But it isn't! It can be as complicated as you want it to be. This is a great game.
A good game with programming involved. Great for a mental challenge.
It's a fun programming puzzle game. Tickles my brain.
As long as you know that it's game about "programming"/algorithm and you are into it, you will like it. Otherwise it might not be for you :).
it's a really fun to play and easy way to learn the basic's of coding
You will run in circles. Great Game!
These robot overlords are so silly. They pranked us by saying they will blow up the earth and humanity started to build space ships to flee that's so funny. 10/10 game would jump into a hole again.
Gaming meets programming. If you are a geek, this will be up your alley.
a fun way of getting the grips/handle of basic programming concept
A fun coding-adjacent puzzle game. Unlike its predecessor, which is generally accessible throughout unless you go for the extra challenges, this one does get very difficult to digest and it gets very difficult to produce a solution that even works towards the end. However this comes from its overall concept being a more niche branch of coding, which does make the earlier puzzles more unique and engaging instead of overly simple.
