The art is fine, the jokes are fine, I'm really disappointed by the apparent lack of romance though. I wouldn't know firsthand though because on the fifth or sixth day I really, really just could not take it with all the errors that kept popping up. Like, I had to keep pressing "Ignore" and "reload" over and over and over in *hopes* of that maybe solving the issue. It rarely worked. So yeah, the game is short, kinda false advertising and really buggy. I *wish* this game lived up to expectations, I really do, because this is exactly the type of game I'd fall in love with, and I can tell effort was put in, but ultimately I cannot recommend this game. :(
(Wooh! Okay. First, when I mention the Angel's names... Or the Devil's... I am talking about the ones in the game. THIS GAME... Not in any other texts you may have read. I don't need to be "educated". Thank you.)
Blooming Panic? Bunny Bond? Games where the story happens with the messenger? Why wouldn't I try this one out too? Fine, fine I'll add that other game too... A Date with Death? NOW you get it!
At first I thought it ran off real time... I mean it DOES read my PC time + implements it. So I had to go between this novel and another one to actually progress the story... Up until I realized that there are buttons in this game where you can "skip to---" -> SO! If you are a BUSY person or just want to keep reading the game...! PRESS THOSE BUTTONS!
I am only writing a review off one route. Why? Because the moment I saw him type... I was like: that's the only guy for my MC. Lmao.
Granted Michael is the one who is more outspoken... But holy hell! Does he has to be so stuck up? So righteous? Zzz...! You'd think he would've become corrupt, just a little bit, by spending time with Lucifer!
I am not sure about Gabriel... His pic looks like it wants to kill everyone... He is friendly... But then again... So are some serial killers...
Raphael. I kinda like him. But they are all having a relationship with one another, so I got confused.
Then Uriel. Okay Uriel is hilarious too. From time to time. But damn the guy is super... Really... Not smart at all.
That only leaves.........! LUCIFER!
Dark haired, fiery and a demon? With a sense of humor and a touch of devilry? Angels? Wot angels? This is the guy you bring back to destroy the world with you!
So therefore the relationship between him and my MC began. Oh but it isn't like that at first... First you gotta help and pick what miracle shall occur. THEN you can flirt... But then again... Not really... Honestly, there aren't THAT many interactions or flirts... I get that there is *another mystery* going on... But it be nice to feel more connected to the one you are pursuing, no...? YES!
That's why with Lucifer it was all about humor and his assertive approach to things. I had a blast reading his words and just going through his route. Oh and the artwork is nice. Too bad other angels didn't want to see his beautiful fiery assets.
Since there was little time to make a connection, I just wrote my MC's + Lucifer's relationship as the Head Devil and Main Concubine. You gotta work HARD to stand by that devil of choice. Angel too.
AH! The "DARWIN" parts... Holy sheep! That was HILARIOUS TOO! Not when he did the science talk, but when he did the "other" talk. LMAO! Epic.
Maybe I'll go back some time soon and read other routes, but for now... I am SUPER satisfied with all the humor and attention I received from a demon.
Thank you and fighto! <3 :)
So! It needs real time. Fine. B-but why was afternoon meetings my only option?!
(Maybe it is because I opened it at 12pm? Even so, it should give me an AM option to start.)
I'm at factory work/commuting from 1:30 pm to midnight.
I've never come across a game I simply can't play because of my afternoon shift! ROFL!
Decided to uninstall for now. It is now going to sit on the shelf until vacation or retirement.
Not recommended for anyone who has a similar schedule. (Unless there is an obvious and easy workaround solution)
Very cute and I laughed a lot. Definitely would recommend to anyone that likes a bit of irreverence in their dating sims. Also super happy to see canonically queer characters
A messaging app that connected to an office in Heaven... texting with angels have become possible...
For fans of games like Mystic Messenger, you’ll feel right at home playing miraclr - Divine Dating Sim.
You would probably think you will be going straight into a cheesy dating sim, but when you get into it, it’s not. The story has a nice balance of being serious and being silly. The characters talk like they could be real people (unless it is not supposed to be a real person).
Since your relationships between the archangels depends on your responses towards them, Miraclr does try to respect your time throughout the seven days you play (in real or game time). Every day you will have three meetings to go to – morning, evening, and night meetings – that you can set the times you will be most available so you can attend. If you forget or just wasn’t home to catch it, the meeting will still go on without you and cost some relationship points. The conversations that happen in the general group chat or in direct messages are dictated by your meeting time parameters, as the day starts with a morning meeting and ends with the night meeting.
With this Steam version containing all paid features already unlocked, you can use those features to make it even more convenient for you. Missing a choice can be resolved by either clicking the option to rewind back to when it first popped up or you can restart a whole day (which is really helpful when trying out each route). If you can only check the game during meetings, you can opt to skip to next activity in general chat or direct message and log out till the next meeting comes up. Or perhaps you have an hour each day to play this, you can also skip to the next meeting till the option to skip to the next day becomes available. And of course you can skip through all seven days if don’t want to wait a week to get through the story.
Overall, I enjoyed the whole gameplay experiences. Pick this up if you want a quick romantic experience for a few minutes each day (or finish it all in an entire day since the Steam version containing all the paid features). The characters are very well written, the chats are cute and funny and the designs are gorgeous.
The dating app or social media inspired GUI is fun (a la Mystic Messenger, but with no horrible waking up at 3AM for the game's duration!) Decent plot, characters, and even replay value! Worth a try if you like these kinds of games :-)
This is another game that will get a big "meh" from me.
I like the characters and the conversations themselves were okay as well, in my opinion.
What this game lacks is some actual depth and a good reason for me to actually care what's going on.
It's mainly just you sitting there, waiting for the noise that tells you that you get to make a decision and other than that.. you just keep on sitting there. Basically all for one kiss cg.
There's no actual spice or excitement or...anything.
It feels hollow and quickly gets boring.
This game is something fun for inbetween, when you got nothing better to do, but.. other than that?
You could most certainly pick up a better game that actually gets you invested in it's characters and story.
It's a nice little project people can learn and grow from,
but other than that I can't say that it's a good game.
Tl;dr: Miraclr was an unexpected treat. Worth it if you’re a fan of the dating sim genre.
Critiques: Not many. Once I discovered the Days were saved on different pages of the save page, life became much better. I do wish it had skip-unseen button, because there were times I wanted to redo a choice and was forced to restart the whole day…which meant sitting through content I had already seen, but not according to the program. Also, there were a couple of times python crashed and I had to restart the program.
Praise: It’s a unique format, where everything is done through a chat program. The “meeting at X time” feature can be ignored. Where this game shines is the narrative, dialogue, and characterization. I’ve never been so torn between whose route I wanted to do first, and it was a delight to discover that they actually tweak each route as well so it doesn’t feel so same-y. Not to mention NB choice for both player and love interest makes me happy.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. Normally I play through the route or two I want, then tear through the files to check out the artwork. Miraclr actually had me wanting to take the time to read through and experience the story. I definitely recommend it.
Tip:
*actual spoiler after first play through*
Warning: After the first play through, you are given the option for a…let’s call it a “new game +”. If you take this route, it spoils the other routes in a line of dialogue, so head’s up if you haven’t played through each of them first.
Overall, my review will be positive despite me having a plethora of negative remarks about this game. My expectations were met, and the free app made me curious enough to purchase it.
It's a cute game, the pacing is reasonably fast during the first day which is great for getting you interested. It's a simple story, yet it delivers well to the player and the characters are different enough to have interesting interactions in the main chat. Features a non-binary character, which later turns out to have relevance to the story other than being The Horny One, has a plot twist I wasn't expecting, and the gameplay isn't frustrating.
Now, onto the negative aspects.
I have a bit of a problem about how dated this game feels. Two major reasons, one being that the jokes are unintendedly tied to 2015-ish, and two being the meta aspect of the game.
Characters being aware they're in a videogame is so overdone by now, but I'm also playing this in 2020 so I'll take a step back on this. Metatron's route feels a bit too much for this game. Of course, it gives room for replayability, but the march against heaven was handled very superficially IMO. It felt a bit like kids roleplaying in the playgrounds.
I just feel like I would have appreciated the game more if it took itself less or more seriously, but this middle ground left me puzzled.
It's a solid 6/10 in being a visual novel and a dating simulator. Not the best for its price, but overall enjoyable.
Do you like 2016 era tumblr humor? You'll probably like this then. But .. the jokes just fell flat for me. I could recognize them as jokes but. Yeah. Not funny. Kinda cringe. It's just.. trying too hard at points. If I have a favorite route at all it was the Metatron route, and. Well. That kinda sums up my feelings. :| You might end up loving this, but it just was not for me.
Don't expect from this game too much, in fact, this is chatting app)
There are six love interests - angels who want to create miracle. To make people to believe in the DIvine. You must to choose one miracle (each angel has his own idea) and this will lock you with chosen guy. Most "likable" is, obliviously, Lucifer. His points of affection are easy to gain, he's the most interesting (and hot) angel. Other are too simple (uriel thinks only about gym and food) or illogical (michael is changing too quickly from strict and accurate to passionate porn watcher).
If you need my opinion.. I suggest to play twice - one with Lucifer, and second.. well, if you played, you know already what will happen) If not - I will not spoil your fun, because secret route is really the best part of game)
Love this game. I've played it on mobile and on here. It's hilarious, the characters all have very distinct personalities, and you can choose your own schedule for meetings.
ok, i got the free mobile app verion (for iOS) first and played through all of lucifer's route over the full course of a week. i promise that it was 100% because i thought his miracle was the most plausible and not at all because i thought he was hot. ...ok 75%. i'm gay and weak. and then i wanted to play the rest and i was impatient and i'm also a completionist who needed ALL THE ENDINGS and i was like "this is gonna take me 6 heckin months if i do it all here" and also i was thirsty for more content so i decided, what the heck it's on sale. and i just gotta say. that this game is hilarious. it's also a super interesting format, and the real-time messaging system was something i definitely enjoyed in my first play-through, though, as i said, as an impatient completionist, i was grateful to have the skip option for my steam run.
i really enjoyed that each angel has their own specific personality and typing style, to the point where i could probably cover names and avatars and still know who was typing - but it wasn't over-done (for the most part). the interactions, both with the player character and each other, were very realistic and not at all stilted, which is impressive with the main interface being chat. a couple of the characters suffered a bit from playing to type, but it wasn't unbearable. i also really liked the unlockable character art (and the ability to change their icons).
this game is unexpectedly quotable. mostly lucifer. lucifer and gabriel are very quotable. i don't know why i keep saying AND THEN HE STABBED ME IN THE LUNG but somehow that is the quote that stuck to me the most please send help
and i have to say that i wasn't so sure about the "true" ending at first, but after seeing all the angels' responses to my choice, i was very happy with it. just an overall thought about metatron's route: gabriel is best angel. so good and smart.
also this successfully made me fall in love with the devil. make of that what you will.

I'm really sorry for writing this review. Dear developers, I know that it's hard to get your game noticed by people and that bad reviews make everything even more difficult. I know that, I, as a player didn't do anything remarkably hard, besides clicking with my mouse and that you've had to write the program and test it (a lot of effort, I know myself). But still, I don't want to recommend a game I didn't enjoy playing.
Like always, when I'm looking for new visual novels to play, I get somehow exited, when I see not really common plots or characters or routes in a game...
This VN had me intrigued because it's a chat app (like a true fan of Mystic Messenger I love these kind of things) and it's with angels. And I liked the idea... Or maybe I just got bored after playing too many games without a strange plot, who knows.
To summarize this game: It's in fact a chat app, where you write with a few angels and the fallen angel Lucifer about them wanting to create a miracle. Therefore, it's not actually dating, but some hilarious or 'not-so-hilarious' conversations via a chat app called miraclr. The angels don't have 'common' personalities, so to say. They act kind of strange.
Let me describe them a little: Raphael is a computer nerd, who isn't able to have a serious commitment to one person. So, if you choose him, he is not going to be only with you. Gabriel doesn't have a real gender (they). They love television and series and are slightly narcissistic. Uriel is completely obsessed with sports and his muscles. Michael is a real pain most of the time because he is overly organized and criticises everything and everyone. Lucifer, who is also Michaels ex, is the devil (obviously), and he is kind of mischievous, although his pranks are surprisingly nice. And finally, Metatron is the leader of all of them and he actually knows that it's all a game and that you're the only one, who influences the outcome of the game. You can actually 'date' him too.
Let me summarize it: You're a human, everyone else is an angel, but you don't really care about that and you don’t even question it. You choose a miracle and everything goes according to plan, if you’re overly nice and supportive. Otherwise the miracle fails and you get a bad end. That's it. There is nothing more to this game.
My opinion? Well, good that this game is so cheap because otherwise I'd be really sad right now. I was getting the Mystic Messenger vibe and I thought...
I really thought that it would be like that game. Coming from me (with about 6h playtime because there is no skip function), this may sound a bit over-reacting, but I simply found this game to be... not good?
I just let it skip all the dialogue (which was quite repetitive), while playing something else, waiting for... well, at least something of interest, but... it never came T_T"
In conclusion, you should buy this game, if you have absolutely nothing to do and you want to play just about anything with text in it. Or, if you like bad jokes (... well, ok there was one time I laughed too).
However, this game doesn’t have any real romantic options. The characters are flat. I’m not sure, you even want to romanticize them.
The pacing of the story is horrible. I know that it's difficult to tell a story using only a chatroom, but Mystic Messenger was quite the same and the story was still amazing. Besides that, the plot is almost the same in every route. The dialogue is really repetitive (actually the general chat is the same in every route besides Metatron's).
In addition to that the main character seems like a robot because of the answer options and the dialogue. It felt like I was reading the answers of a chat bot.
Lastly, the art is kind of terrible. There are some 'okay-ish' drawings like some photos, but mostly... it's just bad. I wouldn’t have had a problem with it, if the story wasn't so bad though.
I mean, the idea was pretty ok, maybe even good, but the execution was really poor. The writing was poor. The jokes were bad and... yeah, this game is actually worse than any Otome I've played (OK, maybe not ALL of the Otome are better... /remembering the shall-we-date series.., but it comes pretty close to that).
==> I wouldn't buy this, if I were you. Like really, don't. I literally read almost every text available of this game (I started skipping after doing like four routes) and it.doesn't.get.any.better. Buy yourself some food instead. Or a pet. Idk. <==
After playing this game through a couple more times, I have changed my mind about it. I do think it is reall fun even if it is not as romantic as I would truly like it to be. I still don't like the real-time gameplay either. However, the story is interesting enough each time I've played to overlook the problem. The only thing that I don't get: Spoiler* Once you unlock the pictures of Metatron, why don't they go into the gallery like the rest of the pics? Also, when I started playing other files, i will occasionally got an error page with code on it and I have to reload the game a couple of times. Is this a problem with the game or somehow part of the game?
Interesting as an idea. However, ultimately I didn't like it. The dialogues were like a 10 years old had written them (maybe that was the purpose to make it funnier? I don't know but I didn't find it funny at all), there was barely any romance and it was pretty short.
Pros
+ very witty dialogue
+ option to skip time menus to continue playing
+ real time events are a fun addition if you want to chill and play other stuff in between/get on with life
+ replay value very high
+ pretty pretty art
Cons
- Crashes/errors
- buggy interface sometimes won't be clicked
- not worth the pricetag these things considered
- some choices don't appear as liked/disliked but still give halos?
Suggestions for improvement:
* Work on the client stability
* adapt the ending cutscenes to fit different avatars? I understand this one might be a reach given the customisation this would entail but I feel if you're gonna charge for this app, it's a waste.
This still gets a positive review from me for replayability value/entertainment but just be aware that the console itself needs a good few stability updates.
I really like it! I kept wanting to keep on hatting more and more. I wish it wasnt as short as it was... It made me smile, laugh, get the feels and it made me feel terrible for having a crush on Lucifer but i mean come on lol who doesnt go towards sin LAMO omg i need the LAWWWD D: But Alas it was a pretty decent game its kinda neat with the whole meeting systems :) BAA!!! lol i doubt people read these but i like this game lol its like roleplay! :3
I originally played this on the smartphone; when it was ported to Steam/PC, I was excited to get it again, as I do prefer playing on PC. It has an interesting feature of using real time to advance the story. I can see how it might be interpretted as gimmicky on PC, but while it was played on the smartphone, this feature made a lot more sense. It was like receiving text messages or social media messages in real life, which is something people respond to occasionally rather than for a long time in one sitting. On a smartphone, the player would get notifications when new choices were available. The game was free, unless the player wanted to pay for the control of time - to be able to rewind or fast forward. On the smartphone, it's actually fun to play it casually in real time and imagine as though it were a real smartphone app. On the PC, I can see why people might be frustrated with the feature, as there are no notifications (as that's impossible to implement on Steam) and sometimes skip options do not appear like they're supposed to. Although, the developer is working on errors and is often responsive if contacted with a complaint.
The romance options are five angels. ... Well, technically, four angels and Lucifer (who's a fallen angel). ;) Well, ACTUALLY, there are six romance options. ;) All men, except Gabriel who is genderqueer and goes by "they."
Michael is the responsible, diligent one who takes his work very seriously. Despite being so uptight, his route can become quite interesting.
Gabriel is, despite Lucifer's presence, the most sexual/lustful one of the group. They make many sexual jokes and send the player the most seductive photos of themself. Although, they are not a one-sided character, as they can be very clever and righteous at times.
Uriel loves three things: exercise, food, and sex. He's a muscular sweetheart, who often is the most optimistic of the group. As Michael says, "He's got more heart than brains." His route is one of the most amusing.
Raphael is a tech savvy, cat-loving, adorable geek/nerd. He's also the one who promotes polyamory in particular. (Although, most of the angels are in favor of free love.) He's quite cute in trying to keep up with modern human slang/lingo. ... He's also my favorite. <3
Lucifer is pretty much what you'd expect him to be. He's antagonistic and rarely takes anything seriously. He encourages the player to be naughty and unproductive. (In my opinion, he's the most aesthetically pleasing and has some of the best artwork of the game.)
The dialogue is amusing and quite well-done in simulating a chat. I have memories of trying to arrange tasks with coworkers or acquaintances via a chat interface, and being the Michael of the group, who wants people to focus and take things seriously, but everyone else loves to interrupt, goof off, and get sidetracked. A conversation that should take 15 minutes at most turns into over an hour because people won't focus! ... Gah, I really am the Michael of the group.
The music of the game consists of classical remixes, which is not only pleasing, but quite fitting for the theme of the game.
I wish I could say more on this, but this game has quite an entertaining plot twist. Actually, a plot twist within a plot twist. It definitely made the game more intriguing and surprising.
For romance/otome fans, I definitely recommend this game despite its technical issues.
MIraclr is a gem among the visual novels that I've played. It combines an amazing sense of humour with great storytelling and art direction, to create a memorable set of characters. None of the aformentioned characters feel like they are fillers, which is always nice. The music was quite lovely and fit the overall mood of the game. I just got a sense that they had fun while writing it. These devs have shown great improvement with each release, and I can't wait for more.
Thank you Jenny and Malcolm for your hard work!
Haven't finished a full route yet, will edit this if necessary when I do but *had* to write something because I am absolutely in love with the experience this game has been providing in my first 3~ hours of play.
To quote Metatron at the beginning of the game, "You have been chosen as the Human representative to heaven for the planning and execution of the first divine miracle in over 400 years." As a human, you cannot visit Heaven, and therefore the angels have developed an app called miraclr so that you can participate. There are four options for the main characters appearance (per set of prounouns for a total of 12), and like Hustle Cat you are able to choose your preference of he/she/they prounouns.
If you've played Mystic Messenger, the style of game play will seem farmiliar, with a group chat that gets updated in real time and personal DMs from the angels (although there is no calling feature, but honestly one would be sort of out of place considering the context). There are three main "meetings" during the day: a morning meeting, a mid-afternoon meeting, and an evening meeting. The game will provide you with the opportunity to set the time parameters for these meetings whenever suits your liking during the first day, and you will be able to alter them at any time after that.
If you miss any of the meetings, they will go on without you, although there is an option to participate in a missed meeting through rewinding or restarting a day. While you can play the game over a few days with the events happening in the real-time parameters you have set, one of the features I am thankful for is the "skip" feature. This feature is available from the get go, and can have you skip the periods of time you would normally have to wait between in time events, letting you play whole days within the span of one. This feature does not cost any Halos, and for those who tended to purchase whole days in Mystic Messenger just to get all the content at once like I did, I think it will be a very welcome feature.
The game itself has been hilarious from the get-go: there's several times I've found myself nearly in tears from laughing at something Uriel or Lucifer has said. The characters are lovable (although I already have favourites) and despite the fact that all of your interactions with the cast can be boiled down to "Yes" or "No" options (at least when you're communicating via the messenger) your choices don't feel pointless, as they can reflect in other areas of the game. Ex. When denying to sign Micheals petition in DMs, your name is excluded when he brings up the petition in the main chat and the fact that you didn't sign it earns you favor with the one he was petitioning against, etc.
I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting when I purchased this after seeing it on englishotomegames blog, but it has certainly delivered on the comedic front. Even if you're not too interested in dating games, I believe miraclr is definitley worth the price for what it brings to the table with the characters and their dialogue with each other.
