Lowkey pretty cool game
Melee references, Touhou references, great art style and music, simple and fun controls, advanced techniques and a built-in speedrun mechanics... and it's simultaneously a bullet hell AND rhythm game! It's like this game was made for me specifically
I had a lot of fun 100%ing this game in about 3.5 hours. Worth the price! The achievements are far easier if you play as Yuuto. Nice work devs!

If you're reading this review, I want you to realize that I am NOT good at bullet hell.
And yet, I have put in the effort to beat the game THREE TIMES. (and probably many more, considering that I WILL be going for full completion.)
I think that says a lot about its quality.
Go buy it. It's like, what? 75 cents? You have a dollar. You clearly want a game. Dollar, meet Game.

I need you to understand something. If pure perfection were to be distilled down into video game form, this would be it. It's a rhythm-based bullet hell with the comedy of Outcore and, honestly, some of the most fun I've had playing a video game in a longgg time. It's only $0.99 as well, so you have next to nothing to lose. Play this game.

un bullet hell 2d de vista isometrica que saca bastante de touhou 12.5 y en mi opinion enter the gungeon, no voy a mentir, se le nota las costuras, cosas como unas respuestas medio extrañas que el lado ritmico del juego no se aproveche tanto y muchas decisiones extrañas en el diseño de niveles se hacen notar, pero si logras pasar tan solo los primeros minutos del juego es muy bueno, aunque a veces es confuso por todas las cosas que pasan en panatalla, ojala fuera como etg en ese aspecto, ya que pueden llegar a pegarte de manera injusta porque hay muchos momentos en los que pierdes tu personaje de vista

Super Ledgehop: Double Laser is yet another of literally hundreds of lazy amateur 2D retro top-down shooter/brawlers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one has a key difference, apart from the lower than average quality (and I must say the average quality of games on Steam, the 90,000+ indie shovelware games that nobody plays, is already quite low). It's got a rhythm/qte hybrid thing going on where you need to shoot in time with the really crap music that assaults your ears.
I've seen this done in several games, even a first person shooter or two that tried to "fix" a perfectly fine gameplay system by making it into Dance Dance Revolution. And who could have guessed, it's a terrible idea that just makes the genre worse. So what we have here is a bad idea implemented badly. Ugh. Let's get into the weeds and go through the many technical defects that have deterred most of the 120+ million gamers on Steam.
There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time.
We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. My gaming rig is not a Kindle.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
We can say with great certainty that this game is not an asset flip. This is because the assets are of such poor quality that no self respecting asset creator or artist would publish them under any circumstances.
Certainly, nobody likes to see asset recycling, stock assets are intended to be used as placeholders until superior assets can be created by the developer, but when we get what's worse than either stock assets being flipped or professional assets, it's a reason for gamers to go out of their way to avoid the product.
The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.
This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs.
A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", LAME Dimension has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
Super Ledgehop: Double Laser is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

The developer breached Valve guidelines for what, a joke response of some kind? They fail to address any of the issues my review raises, but this is understandable, they're undeniable facts that contribute to the majority of gamers on Steam simply ignoring this shovelware.
Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this game to anyone.
ABSOLUTE GEM! The steam rhythm fest actually had good games in it. The gameplay is GOOD, the story is EPIC, and the artstyle is COOL! BUy THIS gAME
I played it a year after release, found it dun and enjoyed my time with it
Then years later I learn it had a big update the second year after release, so I went through it again and once again had a lot of fun
And now these ba- kind people, 4 years after update and 6 after release, have managed to get trading cards, profile backgrounds and more. Honestly, warming to see how they still show care for a game that's practically of the old era, I mean November 2019? Who even remembers existing then?
Anyway my point is, yeah go play this game
Very Cute Very Good!!! Characters are cute and the story is charming! It's a bullet-hell with super cool movement tech. The massive speed you can get when multi-shining makes this game really fun to replay and try to beat as quickly as possible. The bosses are fun, and the combination of the reflect and the absorb really gives ya a lotta tools to take out those bosses quickly! Also, the soundtrack is so so sick and I love how the rhythm game aspect rewards ya with powered up shots for shooting on beat, it's a really fun central gimmick. Shout out to Yuuto Ichika.
An incredibly charming and short game with a lotta replay value, well WELL WELLLLLL worth the 1$.
