A girl crashed into a dark forest not knowing where to go, curiosity drives her to open a Pandora’s box that was never meant to be opened.
Evie is a short first-person horror narrative that unfolds a mind-boggling event, set in the middle of an eerie forest that was left undiscovered for good reasons. The story starts off by reading diaries left in an abandoned house by a lady named Evie. As a player, you will quickly realize that great tragedies hit her life and uncontrollably fell into a downward spiral of despair.
This game was a 3 months project made by Yasuka Taira (me) and Kensuke Hayashi (HS student and a student of mine.)
Kensuke helped me write the story (diaries and documents.)
I did all the visuals and designing.

Due to my work and Kensuke's school, we were only working on it for 3 hours a day. Some days we just wanted to take a rest :P
Unfortunately, we didn't have a programmer so the game might not be perfect, but we believe we did our best to make it happen.

Here I am again writing another negative review about a game made by Chilla's Art. Believe me, I hate doing this but I have to be completely honest.
"Evie" was a massive disappointment. The visuals are just horrible. Everything is so dark and muddy that half the time I couldn´t tell what I was looking at.
The textures are ugly as well. Moving to the story, or more accurately, the lack of one. Evie tries so hard to be mysterious and "deep", but it just comes off as confusing for no reason. There's barely any context for what's happening, and whatever hints you do get feel random and disconnected. There's no tension, no buildup, no actual fear. Just lazy attempts to make you flinch.
If you're curious, watch a playthrough on Youtube or something. At least then you won't have to waste your money or patience.
This is one of those times I wish I could give a game a neutral rating instead of a yes or no. I can't really say I recommend purchasing this game as the length of the game doesn't warrant the price, but overall it's an interesting game and fun to play. There are a couple plot twists (one of which feels obvious as you play) but overall the story is mostly told through notes. This is an Early Chilla's Art game, apparently, so there are some issues with crashing and long loading times. Later games I've seen from Chilla's are much better, so it makes sense that this is an early game. Overall, I think it was fun to play, but I can't recommend it for the price.

This is an early Chilla's game, so you have to take that into account. It has performance issues, with some serious lag and crashes. The gameplay is short and finding the story pages out of sequence means it jumps about and doesn't make sense.
However, the outside environment and weather effects and internal visuals are great, just let down by performance and storytelling.
The devs could revisit it, expand by using the other rooms, fix performance, fix the flow of the story... but that would take time away from their new games, which are much improved.
They have been through a learning process, like all of us, so don't judge this game too harshly.
