For this coming off as romance heavy its... frustrating. Completed it multiple (like 12+ times) and have gotten ONE romance ending. Died like 3-4 times. The MC is stupid AF (asks where babies comes from, and doesn't get any of the sexual hints) comes off as a 12 year old more than a woman of sexual age.
.
Play time: Likely upwards of 10 hours+
Art: Great! Very polished and clean
Music: Decent, not particularly memorable.
Plot: TBH, I cannot remember much beyond being stuck in a tower with a wizard. I think I messed something up and made a bad choice lol
Price: On sale for sure
Overall thoughts: This game was a little confusing but I think I like it enough to give it a positive review. I will also be giving it a second chance later on.
Pretty average VN, quite enjoyable though.
* Features a lot of endings but to get many of them the story path is short.
* Some endings are really funny.
* There isn't any actual character development.
* After u finish like half the endings, it gets really boring and repetitive.
* Menu Extras: Memories (art) and Items (like an item log).
The other VN from the same dev/s "Typical" was really good -so i was quite disappointed with this one.
I won't lie: when I played the first path, I thought maybe this game would be a pretty middling visual novel. But as I kept playing, I realized how many paths there were, how much detail there was in different paths and characters, and I really came to love and appreciate this game.
Overall, it's still a pretty simple and short visual novel, so if you're looking for something really long, you might get something else. However, I really enjoyed the pace and length of this one (and the visuals were cute!).
As a fairy tale it's decent (it's basically a Red Riding Hood retelling), as a more mature story it lacks depth and the character development is too fast for the couple of days most of the routes cover.
I liked the cute details in the UI a lot!
Art is good but the story and characters are mediocre. The choices you get don't make a lot of sense in how the story will progress in my opinion. This game was not for me but if you like quick paced stories with lots of choices and endings then you could consider buying this on sale.
This... This game... Upon first playing it... I rage quit. I was yelling so much at the screen that the cat was hesitant to approach me. After leaving, making up with the kitty, and reading something else... I realized that I have enough patience to sit through anything. I came back and I read it fully this time.
The game itself is from the Developer(s) of Typical. I like Typical. A lot. It's not perfect, but hey... I have it ready for another read... So... If this game is someone's first project or was done just for fun: I get it. But everyone who is a Creative person has to go through criticism eventually.
What to play this game for: lovely/cutesy graphics. I like the clothing designs and some characters look pretty interesting. You can also play it if you want to read every otome game in existence or if you just want to see characters kiss/hook up. Know this: you wont get much pleasure out of it. But if you are up for anything? Wonderful.
Now then, I shall be as peaceful as I can be... Oh and there are spoilers, but that's up to you to see if you want them or not.
The MC (Main Character) is a super epically dumb person you will ever meet. She compared herself to a useless flat pancake. I agree, except... That's cruel to pancakes. You want someone who does nothing? Doesn't understand anything? Doesn't know or learn anything? Doesn't progress through the game? Doesn't know lewd things? Actually asks where "kids come from"? You found her!
There is "indifferent" and then there is her. I always love to read good ends. I gravitate towards them. This is the only game I wanted the character to get owned so badly... But then again, that's getting off way too easy for someone like her.
The story itself is constantly changing. Every route you play: something is inconsistent. I am not going to give examples, you can have "fun" by yourself. But know this, you will be scratching your head every moment.
Also, the MC comes from a village... So if you wanna play the village card... Then go ahead. I come from a village. My family still taught me everything about reality, how to deal with people and made sure to teach me all they could. I guess we can blame MC's parents for being ungodly unbright... I think they tried to get rid of her faster. Guess dumb people do have luck.
You will never, ever learn anything about the characters you meet. Anything interesting that is... Like they are just drawn. That's all I can tell you about 'em. How long does it take for MC and male to fall in love? Few minutes at most. She can't live without them almost immediately.
We can write this off due to "lack of men" in the village, but that's a bit much. She doesn't even know what intercourse is... Or attraction... Or anything for that matter...
I do like how no one carries the basket for her. That was hilarious. I also liked the funny fridge moment.
Character stories:
Fox - > Aka the Guardian of the Forest. Note: the MC can never recognize anyone she looks at, but when on another route: she recognizes them. On another route she is all into forest and not touching anything in it... In this one? Rips the life out of flowers. Not to mention she puts the flowers on the FOX at the end... WHO PROTECTS THE WOODS!
Moving on. He helps guide her. You gotta take the dangerous route and constantly get into trouble, so that you can be the dumb beep in distress. Once you get to grandma: she throws him the F out. GUARDIAN OF THE WOODS everyone! Grandma is hating on him so badly.
Oh and apparently he reminds MC of her father... Who we know nothing about. It ends with her finally remembering him and voila: they are in love and living together. *claps* MC forgot about him and knew him for very few minutes, called him father like = LOVE.
Hunter - > You remember how she was ripping out flowers earlier? Here she sabotages Hunter's hunt... For meat... For the butcher in the village. Guess they don't want to eat meat anymore. I think at one point it said that the villagers gave up weapons. Good job.
Let me tell you something about hunters: they don't just kill the animals needlessly (not all, but most). They kill to put the meat on the table, controlling the huge populations of animals if needed. Hunters will also kill beasts that might be a danger to a village. If you remove the Hunter? You will be overrun by beasts and animals alike. Then what will the humans think when the animals shall turn to feast on them? Your herbs wont save you then!
OKAY so... The whole time she whines and complains to him to stop hunting in THESE woods. Telling him to go to another area or else the forest gets him. That's their main conversation. Then Hunter finds Wolf-dude who supposedly killed his family (this story will change in Wolf's route). Wolf is like: Nope, didn't do it. Hunter is like: Oh okay. Both apologize and leave. End of that tragedy.
Oh and the Hunter gives up hit shotgun to do something else in the village. That MC body part that she doesn't know where kids come out of... Better be legendary! Purely falling in love *claps*.
Wolf - > I think he will benefit from being in another story, only because I am into guys with wolf/cat ears, but that's not important. The MC can sense better than the wolf. She can also see in the dark and trips like a million times. Wolf might be charming, but he isn't bright. Somewhere in Hunter's route it said that he is a vegetarian. I doubt that would work in reality.
Then supposedly (In Hunter's route only) Wolves have precious blood. For which they were murdered. Why not take them and study the blood? That's just wasting it. Now there is only one left? Wolf and MC get to grandma's house... Remember she kicked out the Guardian of The Woods? Well, she is into DANGEROUS WOLVES instead. She is like "oh yeah, come in and give it to me". (That's not what she said, but whatever.)
Wolf and MC escape Hunter, Wolf throws down his weapons, which in English the MC calls useless and then they will be living together in his dark hole. LOVE! *claps*
Lamia (IS NOT A DATEABLE CHARACTER) -> I like her. This is the best character in existence. I like everything that she does and her design? It looks like she has a hand down the front of her underwear. It's funny.
Wizard - > After being called a human eater over 20x (lost count) in her mind, Wizard has goat horns and actually looks... Interesting. In this one... The story is around a tower that traverses space and time and has a star inside itself and the Wizard has no name... I will leave it at that for you know...
Actually this route... Is the only thing I approve of. Like their romance? MAKES SENSE! They were trapped together for days... They were lonely and in the best ending? Makes good sense that they hook up! I was starting to look up to the last story... *claps*
Angel - > Back to no emotions... This guy looks the silliest and very unkempt... BUT! His design is pretty cool too. He tells her that she is pretty much useless and is only good to be a "hot water bottle". LOVE him. He wanted her so he could get a console. Epic. Now this guy I get. Problem: He wanted the girl after all... Okay?
So she became an angel... You will never hear anyone be sad over it. You don't know what happened to others. You don't even feel the conviction of the MC when she tried to convince others to help her! Oh and romance at the end yeah. *claps*
By the end of all of the stories you just feel relieved that you managed to read through it. Or do you? Everything could be so much better! I mean artwork is one thing, but the story is as important!
Neither of the bachelors tells the MC WHY they like her. At this point I assumed they were lonely and just wanted to bang her... They were going to have to explain to her what that is. I think the wizard did... That's why she knew about it (10 years after!),
Got to all the endings and found items. It's an okay short read for me.
Personally can't see myself playing again or recommending to others because the story isn't that immersive.
Review with accompanying screenshots and videos in Sinical Network

Crossroad is kalanhow and TsunamiGames's first visual novel in Steam. This is an otome novel that features fantasy and romance centered around a young village girl named Lumy.
Lumy is instructed by her mother to deliver supplies to her grandmother who lives alone in a magical forest. Depending on the choices made, Lumy may end up encountering various inhabitants of the forest, and even might develop a special relationship with one of them.
The game took me around 3 hours to reach all endings and obtain all achievements with help from a published Steam community guide. Crossroad has charming artwork, with a mix of cute, funny, sad, and happy moments with plenty of unexpected surprises in the endings and routes.
The scriptwriter is quite creative in thinking up of a variety of characters, along with a large variety of endings, 34 of them in total. Each ending comes with a cute and/or comical SD picture. Each of the characters will also have an icon specific for that person at the end of every line of dialogue, further adding to the charm and highlights in the story.
From the settings you can choose to play in either full screen or in windowed mode, but there are no options to specify the resolution. You have all the usual options in the settings such as adjusting the volume and text speed as well as skipping text that has already been seen, which is good as we have 34 endings to get through. As this was built using Renpy, there are 60 save slots total making it much easier to organize saves to work towards those multiple endings.
In terms of background music, there is a large variety of pleasant tracks by Hilmer, Kamil Saners, and Delirior to highlight the charm of the game. The soundtracks In a microwave and Game Over also help to bring out the comical parts of the game. My personal favorites are CrossRoad, Never Return and Derevnya.
Mostly, everything was done right in this visual novel. The only con that comes to mind is that there are plenty of dialogue choices which look quite similar in each person's route. Without referring to guide or online walkthrough, it might be difficult to reach the happy endings based off your own guesses due to this.
Overall, Crossroad is a cute and funny romance visual novel with nice artwork and pleasant background music. If you enjoy short otome adventure games set in fantasy realms, then this is a good choice, but maybe wait until there is a heavy discount so that the amount of gameplay time is more proportional to the price. With that said, there are plenty of surprises and interesting characters so if you can't wait for a sale I believe you will still find lots to enjoy from this title.

it's eh. there are many choices which all lead to the same ending. I wouldn't call this an Otome game, because you don't really build a relationship with the characters. so I guess that the game is mainly meant to show you how small choices can impact your destiny. the art is pretty. if you are used to playing otome games where you need a walkthrough, and where the ending is just a brief description of what has happened over the years after, then this is for you. I personally prefer Otome games where an ending is the characters saying something sweet and cute to you instead
I enjoyed the game! If you have high expectations for visual novels, though, I wouldn't recommend it. The UI is kind of annoying and there's some bugs and typos. Also, the story doesn't have that much depth and the routes are super short (but there ARE a lot of them). If you're looking for a cute and simple read just for fun, then I recommend it! I liked it and thought it was a pleasant experience. But if you're looking for something REALLY high quality, then probably don't go for this game haha. Also, I wouldn't buy this game full price because of the cons I listed, but luckily it's on sale for like 70% a LOT. And I got it in the TsunamiGamesBundle for even more value. But yeah! For what it's worth, I thought it was cute and fun despite its flaws!
I got this game on sale and am a bit disappointed. The selling point for me for this game were the summary and reviews that painted it as cute, lighthearted, and sweet. And I suppose it is that. It's also short per route, has pacing issues, some endings don't make sense if you haven't seen others and there's no forced route order, and some of the joke or twist endings are just confusing rather than funny. I'm still unable to grasp the world - is the MC a humanoid mouse or a human? Does it matter? What are the rules here when we recognize humanoid wolves as wolves that can be hunted for their pelt despite their fully human appearance, but talking to animals that look like animals is surprising? And the MC is naive, but not in a cute way, more in a way where it feels like she's being deliberately obtuse. Since the plot just has you bumping into random people in the woods, there isn't much time for world or character building. The art is excellent... but other than that I am walking away disappointed with no motivation to finish more than the two routes I completed (Wolf and hunter). I may have liked this one when I was a teen starved for anything vaguely Otome but as a much more experienced reader, I know there are much better stories out there.
Crossroad is a fairytale themed otome game with lots of unexpected turns of events, which don't fail to bring a smile or laughter because of how ridiculous some of the outcomes are.
This is a short game, but it's done pretty well even for something that doesn't have a lot of reading time. I personally really enjoyed the art, so many vibrant colours! There's 5 romance routes and all are quite sweet. Available romance options: The Guardian of the Forest, The Wolf, The Hunter, The Wizard and even your own Guardian Angel, who seems to be fond of playing console games in his free time.
This game kind of reminds me of Red Riding Hood, since the main objective you have is to deliver some stuff to your grandma by travelling through the forest. There's a lot of unexpected and fun things awaiting to happen on every corner and every step you take. Also, the forest itself is magical!
- Beautiful vibrant art.
- Fairytale setting.
- 5 romance routes, quite short, but they're nicely done.
- Very short read, but there's over 30 endings to collect and some of them are very funny.
- Whack Slenderman with a basket for a sweet date ;)
Crossroad is definitely a cute fantasy otome title. Short, but very enjoyable and lighthearted read which has a good amount of humour to it.
Very entertaining multiple-choice VN with a female lead leaning towards what I guess is the otome side? Regardless, it's a fun and wacky take taking on elements of Little Red Riding Hood but adding several other twists and plots (with four sub-plots of key characters that root to become the love interests of the MC, who at least it's nice it has a personality and shows up in face, shame never in a full body sprite but that's how it goes in many woks), with plenty of options and a gigantic amount of endings to hunt for. You're looking at around 6 to 10 hours or a bit more so definitely recommended for those who are too busy or just prefer less sprawling and maddeningly long stuff.
Presentation, music, backgrounds and general art are pretty good too, no complaints here, there are little animated details everywhere, a lot effort has been put here!
Performance wise, well, it's a visual novel so thankfully that will not be an issue. Just configure your favorite pad with Steam controller setup in case you prefer comfy couch option (which is usually my way to go with VNs) and you should be set.
But, yes, definitely recommended at full price and, when in doubt, well, pick it up during a sale!
I didn't actually wanted to write about this game, but since it annoyed me so much to even desist to try to play Typical, I think the developers do need a feedback. In that case, not such a good one.
First of all, the main character. Lumy was by far the most hateful character I ever played as. I normally don't mind heroines, even when they don't have a personality (I am actually used to it, since they have to fit every player choices) but in this case... It was SO annoying and unreal. Lumy is that character that is super good/kind/loving girl that is always seeing the bright side to the things, it doesn't seem anything more than that we are being forced to be like that, and it feels strange, like even she isn't like that. And I didn't like it at all.
The routes... They are simply small and unnatural too. There are not much dialogues, and when it comes to that "i love you" part, you wonder where did that feeling came from. Like, we don't actually get to know the characters at all. I think you shouldn't do so many endings for every character, but to focus in one good and satisfactory ending.
Well, aside this, the art is good (but not overwhelming) and the CGs were actually cute.
My final analysis is that, if you want an immersive experience, you shouldn't play this.
(Sorry if my english is bad, it's not my mother language.)
I guess for the price this wasn't a terrible game. I am kind of on the fence regardless. If you're looking for something that's fast. simple and sweet go for this game. It has some unique points of view, differnet characters and it tends to not take itself too seriously. I saw some of the plots coming a mile off but that happens when you play a lot of VNs like I do. But at the end of the day I just got bored with it really quickly. It does have some fun characters going for it, I enjoyed the Wolf but I kind of lost interest after awhile. I really wanted to love it too.
Pros :
Cute Art
Different Routes
Price
Cons:
VERY short
a bit predictable
The MC is a bit-- boring?
I was looking forward to playing this game because of the whole fairy tale vibe ... but it's very short and very simple. In 1 h 36 min, I finished the game 9 times. All you do is walk through the woods and bump into random people. There's no depth or real connection (although I did like the time in the cave with the wolf ... but I still got a rubbish ending, so ... ?) and the choices that you make are very arbitrary. For example, do you turn left, turn right, go forward or go back? There's no thinking involved when you have to make choices like that so you're basically going to have to grind your way through all of the answers to get all of the endings, good or bad. Also, the main character is very spacey and annoying. People will ask her questions and she'll get lost in thought for ages until they're like ... hello?! And don't get me started on how many times she wanders off when people have agreed to take time out of their day to walk her to her gran's house! They're walking ahead of her, trying to help her out, and she's perfectly happy to sneak off when they're not looking! Another problem is that the main character is quite young (to the point where the wolf prefers to hook up with her gran than with her ... which seems to defeat the purpose of him being a 'dateable' character in a 'dating game' ... ) and the game developers deal with her age by skipping ahead 10 years in most of the endings. I mean, I want to play the game, not have all of the events summarized for me. Why not just make her older?
It's a fluffy little game for girls around age 12-14 taking a romantic twist on little red riding hood + 3 different routes focusing on characters not existing in the fairytale. It's less of a visual novel and more of a choose your adventure type of game with a variety of longer and shorter endings that usually doesn't take itself very seriously.
The writing is varies from ok to passable with some pacing issues and character development seems pretty random in some routes. Translation can be a bit rough but nothing that really is a problem really. The Artwork is nice and consistent throughout the whole game.
Overall I would give it a tenative recommendation for girls (or anybody else interested in stories targeted at this audience) who look for a relaxed romance with mythical creatures without very much in depth character development. I had a good enough time with it but it's not up there with the really great VNs from Japan.
A sweet and finely drawn story with turns that are far from predictable, so save frequently :)
More often than not similar games have substandard art, but this one is not one of them. The music is lovely and calming, too. Given the size of the team and the need to translate the entire thing into English, this is truly an amazing job!
Fairy tale. Sweet fairy tale. I really enjoyed!
Almost Red Riding Hood, but interesting.
We play for the girl in the forest. Danger lurks at every turn. Really! Often save the game! :)
It's cool:
- good animation (eyebrows!, eyes, emotions, scene with a hunter and the wolf - wow)
- many, many choices
- many, many endings
- 5 romantic guys (all different, wolf, hunter, guardian, wizard, angel)
- funny world (Japanese village, magical world, forest)
- many endings (I did not go through everything)
- items in the bonus room are funny
- many achievements
- many, many "Easter Eggs" (books, games, movies)
- interesting characters (each unique, grandmother, owl, ninja .... )
- bright colors
Notes:
- Sometimes I had trouble getting to a love ending. Open the bonus menu (in the main menu) can not be immediately. It is necessary to think.
- Do not be lazy to open everything. It's worth it.
- Sometimes the text is Russian (1-3 times), but it did not stop me.
[*]NOT for fans of hentai and eroge. (although one spicy moment 😆, only a few kisses in this novel)
