Starts well/funny, Larry's voice weak acting, art is superb but for me personally falls down to toilet level jokes too fast and too soon and it kills otherwise good start and then it follows at that pace. Cant compare to old games, never played them. A tad too much running around different places and collecting way too many items before you can make use of them. And dialog a must to get something out of characters all the time petty much, some times you have to talk a lot before you get to a line that progress the game, that's not how it's really done in PCA games lol.
One run time for me and no thank you for the second time.
Larry's back! Not as wonderfully sleazy as the original games, but still a fun point and click.
Larry, why are you gay ???

Bro...
Buy this game if you want to feel like an old pervert. Wait, isn't that what I do most days anyway?
Fun, funny game. Overall I had fun,
Great reboot of the franchise. The call backs to the old games are great, the humour is on point for a LSL game while doing a great job playing the fish out of water/man out of time thing.
Had a good time with this one, preety simple for a point and click puzzle game. Only got stuck on one part, mostly because of resolution and scaleing issues, so make sure to have them well set up or some items will overlap, makeing some puzzles harder.
I played one of these games way back in the day and tired again on Magna Cum Laude, so I decided to try this one as well. I thought the story was ok for the most part, and the graphics were pretty good as well, but me the game made me laugh a lot. Granted, the humor is mostly crude and some of the visuals are as well, but having Larry transported to the now and trying to figure it all out (since he is still stuck in the 80's) was pretty funny, and at times ingenious.
The only downside for me was how many times you have to go back and forth to the different locations and sometimes finding the one item you need was great big pain in the ass! Also, what you might think should be able to be combined or what you think should work in solving a puzzle was typically not what worked. You spend a lot of time with trial and error and that can make it rather boring.
If you are going for the achievements, it can get a little tricky at times, but most are easy, but there are some that are not marked and will involve you just clicking every object on the screen.
This is not the greatest game ever, but still some disgustingly funny lines and disgustingly funny visuals gave some pretty solid laughs (and a couple of laugh out loud moments).
6.5/10
This game was fun for the most part, if a little short, but it had a lot of issues with it. Often the translations from German to English leave a native English speaker confused as to what the text/audio is meant to be saying. This happens in a part of the game where the translation to English is used to solve a puzzle. I was stuck here for a while, till I started thinking about other times I saw grammatical errors in the game, and I started to think in terms of someone speaking with bad English and was able to get past the section. There are other times where the voice acting doesn't match up with the subtitles, voice overs are played a scene too early, and a couple instances where there are subtitles, but the voice over is missing entirely.
Another issue with the gameplay is constantly having to travel from Scene 1, getting a clue from a conversation in Scene 2, going back Scene 1, only to find you have to go back to scene 2 to get more information, via dialogue, from the exact same character, and this will get repeated multiple times. This happens several times in the game and is very, very annoying! I didn't care for the, basically, forced hint system, which shows you all the interactive items on the screen, by pressing the Spacebar, and sometimes pops up automatically; there is no way to shut this off. One of the fun aspects of oldschool Point & Click games is that they forced you to use your eyes and evaluate everything in a scene to make sure you didn't miss anything. Besides, when the mouse cursor hovers over an interactive object, you get a text description of what the item is.
The game has multiple-choice dialogue options, but, 9 out of 10 times, regardless of the dialogue you choose for Larry, the character has the same response. So, what's the point of having various options for things to say if the response isn't a reaction to what Larry said? Lastly, when you try, as I always do, to combine an object with another object, or use an object on something, or someone, else in the game, the responses are randomized. If you try the same action again, using the same two items, you will get a different response. This is reused on almost everything in the game and it really detracts from the immersion into the world of Larry Laffer. There are so many missed opportunities to have fun responses to Larry trying to combine things that most wouldn't combine, or using an item on a person, when most would never attempt to do something so bizarre. That's what made the old Larry Laffer, and other Point/Click games, so fun to play. In addition, it gave those games replay value, which this game doesn't have.
With all that said, I would still recommend this game when it's on sale. I bought it for 90% off and feel I got my moneys worth. I wouldn't have felt that way if I had paid the $30U.S. that is the regular Steam price. It took me 21hours to finish the game and that's because I try everything that I think might be good for a laugh. If you're the sort of person who rushes through a game you could probably clear it, easily, in half the time.
Leisure Suit Larry was a popular series of point'n'click adventure games by Sierra back in the '90s. You played as Larry Laffer, a horny middle-aged guy who's still a virgin. Larry's life goal is to make sweet love with a woman... almost any woman. Unfortunately, he's a nerdy-looking douchebag, so women don't find him too appealing. There were 7 Leisure Suit Larry games released back in the day, the last one was in 1996. More than 20 years passed before there was another sequel, and this game is that sequel.
In this episode, Larry is somehow transported from 1987. to present day (it's unclear how exactly). This modern world holds many wonders for our horny friend and it's designed like a total parody. Developers decided to openly mock gen Z, hipsters and woke 'culture' and I absolutely love the setting they created. The story revolves around a company named Prune (which is supposed to be Apple), their dating app Timber and the prototype of their new PiPhone. Only ever looking to get laid, Larry somehow gets tangled in Prune's corporate politics, sowing total chaos everywhere he goes along the way (as usual).
Wet Dreams Don't Dry looks and sounds pretty good. I applaud the developers for sticking to goofy and colorful 2D graphics. Voice acting and sound effects are also on the level. As far as point'n'click adventures go, this one is fairly easy. There aren't many dialogues and you'll spend most of your time solving simple puzzles. Most locations only hold several points of interest and you can only visit a couple of locations at a given time, so you won't be exactly overwhelmed with options. I got stuck briefly a couple of times, but you can always try combining 'everything with everything' in these situations and you'll get unstuck quickly. Because it's so easy, you'll glide through Wet Dreams Don't Dry in about 10-15 hours. However, the game is insanely fun and I played through it in an eye blink.
Wet Dreams Don't Dry is a worthy sequel to Sierra's legendary Leisure Suit Larry games. The game is a little short, but it's also fun and can be quite hilarious at times. I strongly recommend it to everyone except people with mental issues who are offended by jokes against woke 'culture'.
