Goodbye
bello charlotte
I am God.
I think I felt more than I understood? An interesting and memorable series of games, but I don't think it was going to make much sense to me because it's an emotional story about a specific kind of tragedy, one that I haven't had the pleasure/misfortune of having. I didn't cry or catch depression from this series, but I think I learned more about myself than anything, lol, because I'm a heartless monster that hasn't experienced the loss of a loved one or because I'm too afraid of being hurt to put myself out there. I'm here for the puzzles, baybee, and this game has only a few but they got me thinkin'. Regardless, I will remember this story fondly and I commend the author for never giving up; I hope to make a game of my own one day and their work inspires me immensely. The other episodes are free, so give those a try first, and if anything you see interests you, might as well finish the story, eh?
This trilogy has certainly been one of my favourite things to have ever experienced. I finished this at around 2am last night, made me cry really hard, and has not left my head since. I'm still trying to process everything, so I might write a proper review at some point soon.
This series is as confusing and terrifying as it is beautiful. I highly urge you to play both EP1 and EP2 before this(they're free!) and this third game wraps up the series wonderfully.
Masterpiece. 9.5/10.
9/10

Genuinely so amazing that I'm lost for words. Recommend to everyone especially considering the first two are free, with all the games being so great and coming together as an amazing, emotional journey.
on my soul and entire existence EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAY THIS. gosh this makes me want to write even more
For players who liked EP1 and 2 of Hello Charlotte and are wondering whether they should buy EP3, my answer is a definite YES. A small warning about the gore content, although I believe anyone who has made it so far to EP3 is probably used to it already. Hello Charlotte and etherane’s artstyle is unique, and I believe the use of gore plays a crucial role. I really like how the Oracle is portrayed.
As the final episode, EP3 does a good job of capturing the essence of Hello Charlotte: an elegant art style, fascinating settings and details, and etherane’s distinctive writing. I consider it a decent conclusion to the series.
That said, Episode 3 is my least favorite of the three episodes, mainly because of its storytelling. While the world-building is mainly consistent, I felt it somewhat irresponsible to define the entire world as "never-ending timelines of dream", nullifying the meaning of everything, after all those rich characters and details that you have poured your heart into. This decision gives the impression of a rushed story or a lack of better ideas. Not that I have any, but still.
Another example is the explanation of Scarlett (non-tulpa) becoming Scarlotte. I like both characters, but I've always found this relationship hard to interpret, even after several replays. Scarlett in Episode 3 is portrayed as determined, courageous, and committed to her beliefs—highly different from the soft-spoken, socially anxious Charlotte we knew in EP1-2, and I'm not satisfied with the explanation of "under influences from Mother". We could see Scarlett’s inability to accept the truth of the House, and I believe her inner struggles could have been explored more for a smoother and more convincing transition.
The game does not have an original soundtrack, and uses mainly free music samples, with several original pieces composed by etherane herself and Kal Engel. The music is okay-ish, with a few highlights like Swedish Fish for the Execution Hour, but lacking a recurring main theme or individual themes for characters. I also noticed a few original pieces from EP2, and would love some doing of variations or covers rather than simply reusing them.
I have some mixed feelings with EP3, but in general I highly recommend the Hello Charlotte series. If you enjoyed the series, I’d also recommend trying etherane’s other games, Tomorrow Won’t Come for Those Without __ and Mr. Rainer’s Solve-It Service. These are etherane's later projects, and I find them more coherent in storytelling.
I'm still currently playing it since I'm not completely done but it's so good it messes with you in all of the right ways i don't think I'm ever going to forget about it 10/10
I loved the storytelling and the characters so freking much im gonna play it again instead of doing and actual college assignment
this game made me cry and poked me in all the wrong ways, occasionally giving me an existential crisis.
12/10 would recommend to anyone who loves emotional damage <3
House, heartbreak, hell.
Having played all 3, I can definitively say
That this series
With all the angst and emotion, puzzles and riddle
Is worth more its weight.
Goodbye Charlotte.

PLAY (this isnt optional we are all a hive mind with no ego)
One of the most severe case of an artist torturing their OCs.
I love edgy rpg maker games :D
i like
HELLO CHARLOTTE HAS CHANGED ME AS A PERSON
Y' know , when i was recommended this entire triology of games i wasn't expecting to be left with such raw depression , i don't think i've ever cried so many times in a single game
Boring gameplay
11/10 story
this game changed my life no other games ever did. it's truly a masterpiece that i can not recommend enough to people it's such a great series that gets tied together perfectly in the third game with an amazing coming of age visual novel. i will never stop talking about it :')
I cannot recommend this trilogy, especially this conclusion and the Heaven's Gate visual novel, enough. It's unique and truly special to me, but absolutely crushing at the same time.
...
Confusing
All ended well.
quite the media, I must say
oh shoot this game is lovely, i haven't gotten all the achievement (probably because i didn't done it in my first playthrough) it's a cool and lovely game :]
q84 is my idol
The Hello Charlotte series is absolutely off the rails in terms of absolutely everything. From it's story to it's humor to it's characters and Charlotte herself......It can definitely be a quite hard to understand for the average folk considering how deep and philosophical it's whole story gets. It has left me absolutely bewildered and confused on my first playthrough and i am still confused and bewildered.
with that being said though, as strange of a game as it is......There's just something so oddly.........magnetizing about this series.......oh and while this review is under the 3rd episode's page, the review is still meant for the whole series overall, from Ep1 all the way to heaven's gate.
The game starts off on Ep1 with you greeting Charlotte Wiltshire as her puppeteer. you are tasked with taking care of her. it doesn't take long before you'd notice that the world of Hello Charlotte is nothing like our own. it is filled to the brim with oddities and anomalies that you just but feel like there's something.....off. About Everything. The background music that plays throughout the game(s)'s runtime solidifies that very well.
without getting into too much detail with the story, you learn of Charlotte's innocent, naive demeanor. interacting with very.......particular bunch of characters from the stoic Felix to the crazy goober soap-eating Bennet. there's also some guy named Charles Eyler who appears later that may-or-may not be important. Oh and all of the art in this game series is very stand-out and unique. constantly improving on itself from the first game to the last. they're all very nice to look at.
To be honest i was planning to write a brief spoiler free summary of the story here but................thing is........the story really isn't just something you can......"describe". Due to how weird everything is in the world of Hello Charlotte... in order to know the story, you'll just have to experience it for yourself. It dives very deep into many themes like Apathy, Morality, Bulllying and social outlook................and last but not least......................................................................................depression. and mental illness(woah big surprise huh).
The first 2 games are nice and short but Childhood's End is where the real meaty parts are in, both literary AND literally. It expands a LOT on every character....including Charlotte......who may feel a bit different in Ep3.........i'll save that for you to experience after playing through ep1 & 2 and deciding whether you like the games enough to buy ep3. if you liked the first 2 games then i can't recommend episode 3 ENOUGH. it ties up lots of loose ends but also kinda doesn't because the confusing batsheet crazy storyline still makes you question a lot of things. uh, so to reiterate....... it.....ties it up.........enough? i guess?. just know this : expect lots of fun lovely cutscenes featuring the colour red :)))). Although i'm sure SHE'd prefer it to be more.............White.
Hello Charlotte is a very one-of-a-kind experience. It's hard for me to recommend it because of how uncanny the whole thing is. Although..........since the first 2 episodes are free...........give it try. Wont you?
PS : Game can get pretty gory at times. some background straight up use real flesh too so it miiiight be a little bit TOO disturbing for some folks. you have been warned.
P.S.S : the Heaven's Gate DLC can be obtained for free from the game's page on itch.io. so i'd recommend just getting it from there. But if you really like etherane's works and want to eat it all up, go ahead and buy the DLC from steam for some extra 5 minute story tidbit i guess. and also to support the developer herself.
holds a special murky place in my heart (probably just the oracle) ??/10
made me sad would recomment.
i could write something stupid like "made me cry 10/10" but i enjoyed this game,i enjoyed the art, story, music, everything its just so good.
Would replay again just to bawl my eyes out for 10 minutes
Tragically beautiful and absolutely devastating, there couldn't be a more perfect way to end the series
I have no other words, just, wow
Thank you etherane
ITS PEAK
Magcat approved
the single best game i've ever played. words cannot state how much i'm grateful for this franchise.
this game has to be genuinely one of my favorite games. i was recommended it by a friend, and i think this game changed me as a person. every now and then i come back to it, and overthink everything about it. it's such a good game, and deals with very heavy topics so very well and it's beautifully written. i definitely recommend this, but make sure you can handle it's topics before giving it a try. it's definitely a great sequel from the first few games, and sums everything up very well :) i love doomed yaoi
A stunning ending to the series... The world building, art and music are fascinating, and the intriguingly complex narrative is very enjoyable as well.
