Sothing and enjoyable
Nostalgic Gameplay.. but crashes too many
Old but still catchy.
It's extremely simplified, to the point of being slightly infantilizing to a player used to more complex simulation games.
It's alrigh if you want something easy and simple, if you want a stimulating challenge, go play something else.
Constant crashes of the steam application makes playing any game on this server a true PITA. Wouldn't recommend. I'm buying an external CD/DVD drive to install the game locally. Pretty sure it's not the games issue but the actual steam server that is the problem.
Installed this again. Remembered liking it. Forgot why I stopped playing.
It crashed in 10 minutes. Then I remembered.
i liked it
Playing this game with my son for a while now, we are having fun! Obviously that we miss some more and bigger maps and more trains but we are good with what we have too.
trains hell yeah
A classic. A must play. One of my all time favorites.
You Start each Game (Scenario) with nothing but a fistfull of Cash. and a short section of Track. The country around you is scattered with various types of commodities. Four sizes of cities dot the land set in terrain that matches the Historical setting for the Scenario you are Playing. Commodities are converted in cities desiring particular commodities. Your task is the connect commodities with Producers then transport it ti Buyers. Track building is elaborate, compelling and complex. Train Operations are smooth, if you are careful. There are 4 levels of Play without others. Up to 4 additional Players can participate. The Game itself can play up to 4 competitors for a maximum of 5 players per Game. It is amazing to play 4 competitors that are controlled by the Game, unbelievable. Each Game takes place in the environs of Real Cities with associated topology. Rivers flatlands, hills and mountains etc. Scale is exaggerated. The end result is a complex network of rails with numerous trains rushing around over bridges and through tunnels, picking up goods and delivering products. It is amazing. The scale results in Model Railroad on 6 4x8 sheets of plywood (12 x 16 feet or larger).
I love being able to set a map on random & play through a new set of goals!
I really enjoy, but it sometimes stops working on its own and will not restrt again.
o pai aqui é rei dos trilhos
It's a classic.
Baseline - I keep coming to back to this game periodically. I haven't quite beaten all levels/scenarios (although some I can do consistently), so there's still some challenge in it for me.
What I like: variety of geographic & temporal scenarios. Different hardness factors (# of AI competitors, starting capital),
What I dislike: the big one - the train routing is a little buggy and trains can get themselves stuck; however, a little extra track building keeps trains moving. Small stuff: Putting railroad barons in places and times they weren't; no trains past the 90's
the game stops every 2 to 3 min to restart
Always crashing.
Best non-violent ever!
Siganlling and track layouts difficult to set up.
In one sentence - Do not buy this one - buy Railroad Tycoon 3 instead.
I had high hopes that because this was the newer release of the RR series, it would be excellent. It sucks on many fronts.
You cannot zoom out. You are completely stuck in this close-up viewpoint of your map, and have absolutely no way to scale back to see the wider world. As such, you cannot get a feel for where you want to go with your lines, you cannot plan effectively, you cannot find things without a hell of a lot of SLOW scrolling all over the place, and then.. scrolling back to search for where you were trying to come from. Worst mistake of the whole design bar far.
Track laying at first is ok. But as you need to lay more lines and connect cross-overs, it becomes a disaster. The mechanics ruin the track junctions over and over, placing useless signals (more on that in a moment) all over the place.
If you want to make some small, simple change to the position of a track that has been in use for even 1 train - you first have to delete the train! Then you can delete the track. But wait - did you lay it out in one long click? Well its going to delete EVERYTHING you originally set down as one click, meaning you have to replace EVERYTHING when you want to change even a tiny little part. And sometimes, you even have to delete the entire station setup too! But guess what - to do that, if you have any other trains stopping there, all those trains have to be deleted first too!
Track signals are useless. Crap. Garbage. They do not work right, and you cannot set the priority of any train (as you can do in RRT3 for important passenger or other critical frieight trains).
You cannot buy any Industry outside of what is in a city. You can only buy, or build, 3 slots of industry in a city. You can never buy / own the source material plants outside the cities. Garbage!
What a shame. All they needed to improve upon from RRT3 was the price you could sell industries for, and to make laying multiple tracks better. I didn't even care about graphics.. its about the fun strategy of building the lines, seeing the growth of the company, the wages, the cities.
Still the best rail-building game around.
easy to play relaxing to play fun to play.
good game with so many bugs. its crash every 10 minutes...any help?
other than it crashes every 1/2 hour
Way too simplistic, and the zoom level is atrocious, you can see very little of the terrain, and usually just one or two towns at a time. If this is a sequel to Railroad Tycoon 3, then it's only so in spirit.
Cool
easy to master
I love It!
Игры похожие на Sid Meier's Railroads!
