thanks for the game, please continue the good works and then combine them into one through use of cosmetic purchases?
a single game to run them all :)
good days to you and you all
sorry for any bother and thanks for your time
Oh god no.
I love tower defense games but this is not it. My warning to you, find another game to try. I bought it at a 90% discount and I'm putting in for a refund.
Kingdom Defense really tries hard to be 'Kingdom Rush's' ugly little brother. This could work out if at least it would be working correctly. But the thing is: This is a terribly buggy game. Most of the time the towers you selected aren't even built though spendings are abducted to nowhere. And you can do nothing about it. So do yourself a pleasure and: DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!!

Top ∞ among TD Games
Only 12 levels. Under 54 MB.
Might be decent for a 1 person 1st time game development.
3 towers to choose from. 3 enemy types. 12 maps. 2 hours of my life mostly bored.
why does this cost money
😁
best simon too :)
NO CARDS, don't buy this game !
There are only twelve levels and three types of enemies & towers. The towers don't target the first enemy. They tend to shoot at the rearmost enemy, which often causes you to lose.
This is the most barebones TD game possible. 12 levels, no other modes or challenges, and the levels have only 3 waves. There are also only 3 towers - barracks, archers, "mage". They can be upgraded, but there is no description what the upgrades do, just guessing based on the icons. No double speed, not even a pause option, and the ranged towers frequently and frustratingly ignore flying enemies. There are basic sound effects, but nothing I would call a soundtrack. I won several levels even though more than 3 enemies made it through and my lives were at 0, so I assume it's also bugged in some way.
If you are short on money and really, really want a tower defense game right now... buy Rock'n'Roll Defense instead.
A bunch of silliness:
- Level ends when you have -1 lives left, but not 0... until all enemies are defeated and *then* you lose!
- No restart level. Together with the issue above it's rage-inducing.
- The tower menu doesn't update when you get enough money.
- Tower target priority often feels like complete bull. It's so bad that you often wonder if the game is taking a piss and actively not target units that can be killed by one more shot.
- Out of the three(!) towers one is worthless and you'll never need to use it. (I'll let you figure out which).
[*] The power-up skill can often be used before it's ready. Then it finishes and the units you summoned disappear and you have to summon them again. Not game breaking but embarrasingly bad.
The solution to a few of those problems is a simple if-statement. What programmer in the world that could make pretty much any of the logic in this game, but cannot check a simple defeat-condition? Is this just another case of buying a complete td-kit on unity store and reskinning it?
Other than those things, I rather enjoyed the game. It's mediocre but I did thought it had a challenging level or two, but 100% achievements should be easy for most people with a few hours on their hands.
Not sure what I paid, but don't go above the dollar. I guess I'll recommend but it's pretty questionable. Do take an extra look at the bad points, k?
Minimum content, three species of towers, three species of enemies, bugs, limited interface, there is no pause!, the cursor disappears, playing is boring and uncomfortable. Piece of indie TD shіt
A cautious recommendation. It's got lots of small issues, but altogether it was an enjoyable game.
Kingdom Defense is a tower defense with a twist on the basic idea, grabbed from the well-acclaimed Kingdom Rush (KR), to which it pays more than a homage.
There are two traditional towers with ranged weapons but also a guard tower that spawns troops that aggro enemies to stay in place while fighting them.
Notice the problem though?
Only three towers.
That's awfully few for a tower defense. Well, to be fair it could work if well executed (like in KR). But it's not the only issue. Actually...
There are loads of small issues
I made a whole list of all the bugs and issues I noticed:
- Only three tower types
- Only three enemy types
- Single special ability (which cannot be cancelled after choosing it)
- No story at all
- Menus are unintuitive: no text and hosts non-standard icons
- Likewise, no explanation of tower upgrades and abilities (but they're intuitive afterwards) - need some good old trial and error
- Cursor disappeared a few times rendering playing frankly impossible, especially in fullscreen
- Achievements unlock on exit instead of when gained
- You can't target enemies
- Game doesn't end at zero hearts even though it's lost
[*]Can't speed up the game
So that's a lot of small issues.
The tower upgrades are actually explained in the achievements - but that's not really a place you'd look for that sort of information, especially since they pop up after closing the game instead of at the very moment of purchase.
Of towers and enemies
It's a tower defense. Beat the mob waves by placing towers.
Knight tower spawns knights (like Kingdom Rush). Arrow tower shoots arrows. Mage tower shoots fireballs and lays traps.
Knights aggro enemies (except fliers) and are essential to slowing down the horde, while arrow and mage towers can shoot the one flying creature type.
The special ground enemy sorcerer disables towers for several seconds - effective for letting flying creatures survive past the towers.
Most of the time it's the flying ones and the tower AI that are problematic. The ranged towers do a decent damage, but you can't assign primary targets: the tower might first shoot an enemy to the brink of death, then switch to another mob and let the first one pass. This happened multiple times and was extremely irritating, since it usually leads to losing the level.
Gameplay issues
No targeting enemies with ranged towers - check.
After a few failed attempts it gets tempting to speed up the game - but you can't, it's lacking such feature.
You lose at zero hearts. But the level doesn't tell you: it continues until you've beaten all enemies, or another mob makes it go to negative health. Only then it restarts. Why didn't it already restart when HP reached zero hearts? Why lie and offer this false hope, only to pry it away afterwards?
Also, I felt that the mage tower was ultimately useless, reducing the number of useful towers to mere two. Its trap spell does little damage and the archers have a way better damage over time when upgraded. Mage's advantage is auto-aiming spells - the archers miss a lot without the bought upgrade.
...yet it works
Funny though: I liked Kingdom Defense quite a lot despite its flaws. Even the cursor bug ceased to occur after a couple of levels for whatever reason.
In later levels the difficulty amps up satisfactorily.
There are only a few places for towers, so it becomes crucial to place the towers at strategically proper places. There's a single ability/spell to summon a couple of knights anywhere (even outside the routes - a design oversight probably) to apply some leeway, though you very much have to use them anyway.
I needed several attempts for the last few levels before completion. Granted, much of it was due to missing targeting and getting lucky with the abilities aggroing the right guy (i.e. the sorcerer instead of a regular grunt).
Conclusions
After all, that's it - 12 levels, 1.5 hours till completion, seasoned with lots of small bugs and game design flaws.
To be honest, I can't recommend this to anyone but fans of tower defense. But for them it's a cheap and alright snack game.

Somewhat interesting but not really good. Certainly woth the pittance that is the asking price. You'll amuse yourself for an hour.
Hard times.
This one is a Unity tower defense game, I think extremely indie since it's published and developed by a Russian guy, and well, it's quite clear since the first screens.
Basically it has no menu, no backstory, nothing apart from a retro-style page that asks you to "press start" (which means click on the start text) and it puts you right into the game.
And the game, well, it's the most basic tower defense you can imagine, and it has only 12 levels. There are as I said no tutorials, nothing. Ok, if you're quite experienced I think you don't need tutorials at all - you've got towers to build and upgrade, enemies coming from one side to the other one and such.
The game too has drawn too much from other games such as Kingdom Rush by adding for instance the option to call forth additional knights as a "power".
The music is overall quite absent, and the sound effects are very retro.. not that bad anyways, but it's a game that needs to be played with some sort of Youtube playlist.
Overall, this looks very similar to other tower defense franchises in every aspect, apart from the of course less polished graphics and mechanics - the placement of the warriors, three per tower, the archer towers and so on.. everything is really recycled.
Most of all, you've got just some info on your screen (money, go back, health points and waves remaining) and well.. the game is REALLY, REALLY slow and has NO fast forward functions.. there are games like Gemcraft which often have like 5x speed..
So be prepared, since it's very very very slow.. and not even that easy, trust me!
The maps themselves look quite the same of the Incursion, Cursed Treasure, Kingdom Rush etc. levels.. and I'd love to recommend this game, but really there are too many flaws in it.
It costs only 1€ and that's great, but it's all so ripped off from all the major tower defense games freely available all over the Internet.
Plus, it has no trading cards even if the main page says so, as other players noted.
So, overall, it looks like that the developer tried to make a tower defense game by himself and some graphic elements are in fact new, but everything looks already played if you've ever been on Kongregate and similar sites, and there's an extreme lack of features: fast forward, tutorials, informations on upgrades and so on. You can't call waves early, there isn't even a pause button and the game goes on on tray too.. by the way if you play it, play it in full screen otherwise you won't read or distinguish anything, since the icons are too small
And you've got only three tower types (warriors deployed on the road, archers and mages), and without tutorials you have to literally figure out by yourself what the upgrades will do - there's literally no text at all in the whole game.
Which is, as I said, 12-levels long, and you can't even choose them. They flow one after the other.
Summarizing, I can't recommend it even if it has achievements and if it's an indie game costing only 1€. It has too many flaws, it's too slow and there are no functions at all, not even the speed up button; plus, you've got really limited choices in your towers and the relative upgrades, and there are no tutorials whatsoever.. so it's definitely not suitable for a gamer new to the genre.
Being a long-time tower defense player, it's also quite bad in my opinion the fact that everything is ripped off from other franchises, from the map designs to the types of towers; only the enemies look a bit different but that's it. And there's no upgrade system outside of the battle, it's very very very basic.
Play at your own risk and only if you are already into tower defense games, but for anyone else better avoid this title.
extremely poor russian Kingdom Rush rip-off.
waste of money and time. This game is an insult to tower defense genre.
2/10
Awful.
