I liked Distraint, but Distraint 2 is a much better game, imo. I preferred this story over the first's and how it was much more emotional.
I had a bug with one of the flashbacks on my controller, but when I switched to keyboard and mouse for that instance, it was fine.
Even with my bug, I highly recommend it, and it only took me about 2.5-3 hours. Short game, totally worth the price, even at full price.
Distraint 2 is a 2D psychological horror game that continues from the occurrence of Distraint. The game displays more alarming and disconcerting visuals, and the sound design have refined that alters from soothing to frightful sounds. The gameplay is nearly the same, the puzzles are equitably simplistic, and the soundtrack does a terrific job in creating an oppressive and melancholic atmosphere. Distraint 2 is an improvement over its predecessor. It is not a lengthy game, but it has a compassionate story about finding hope in the most difficult moments.
Pretty good graphics and story for a 2D game. The music, sound and the darkness is what makes it horror. The story is about trying to find Hope. You have to play the 1st game before this to understand what's going on, as the story won't make perfect sense if you don't.
Fills me with hope :)
A story worthy of attention!
Few games leave any interesting thoughts in your head, especially about the values of life and its meaning in general. It is difficult to attribute such projects simply to "gaming". Although my experience from this project was small, it was truly inspiring and exciting, comparable, probably, rather to reading some dramatic bestseller or watching a film of the same genre and high level. Distraint is primarily a story. A story worthy of attention!

Full review
The game is a direct continuation of the first part. We will get acquainted with the emotions of the main character. They will help us to understand him, and may help many people to understand themselves.
Compared to the first part the game became more surreal and psychedelic (which can't help but please). Graphics has reached a higher level. Camera and environment animation make the world alive. The sounds that fill the game fully convey the atmosphere of the moment, whether it is a tense scene or a scene of peace.
A lot of puzzles will allow you to test your logic and intensiveness (because some of them are not so simple).
The story will make everyone think and look at their lives differently. This game is an example of a very strong story game.
I recommend everyone to pass this game!

at first i couldn t keep play even i loved the first game but later i get used and ending sequence... definitely worth.
Once again what an Amazing ending! The story of Distraint 2 was going over my head in first half of the game but it all made sense in the end and everything felt connect to Distraint 1. More horror, More emotions and everything just felt good at the end.

despite not liking horror games generally, let alone a indie horror game, i've genuinely enjoyed jesse makkonen's take on the genre and his style of games is unique. the sound design in their games is something i also specifically want to single out, as i found it to always be expertly crafted and doing a lot of the heavy lifting regarding the "psychological horror" aspect of the games. this is another entry from makkonen that is extremely advanced and sophisticated for what seems like a simple side-scrolling game. due to how short the game is, i do recommend waiting for a sale and/or grabbing this in a bundle with other games.

The gameplay is simple, the story is short but deep meaning. You will need to get through the first game to complete the message.
Fun little story game. I enjoyed it. Played part one and enjoyed that one too. I call these type of game "Time killer story games. It's about good 4 hours. So if you are a streamer and have about 4 hours to kill, this is one to play.
The puzzles aren't hard, and usually the answer is usually close.
Almost makes me wish to refund the less than a dollar purchase to rebuy it at full price.
The game did an amazing job telling the story. About when things seem bleak, it can still be salvagable. I liked it, and how it ended. Shame there isn't really a reason to make more, but I'd recommend playing the original, then this, to get the full picture and go on an amazing trip.

I didn't know what to expect going into the second installment of Distraint. I was a huge fan of the first one and was curious to see how they'd continue with the story... and wow...
What an incredible game... I was left completely blown away and shedding tears when I reached its conclusion. Throughout this game, you play as Price, the protagonist from the first game. Price must navigate the world of his repressed emotions and overcome the ones that control him. An unexpected tale of "Hope" in correspondence to its predecessor. I cannot recommend this game enough, it was a complete work of art. By far one of the best indie games I've played that's guaranteed to leave a lasting impact on me.
I like both Distraint games. More so the first one since the second is a bit too meta for my taste and some of the dialogues feel off. But holy shit, the ending, and I mean by that the final scene just before credits roll, it just sours *the whole experience* for me. Never before a game end scene made me feel that way and if those seconds were cut, I wouldn't have to think twice about recommending Distraint 2. I truly hate that cliche in any story it appears in
Even better then the first it wraps up the story and explore the past conflicts of Casey.

Nice visual novella with good plot connected with the first Distraint. There are some good puzzles and tasks (not stupid). And this is a good horror (a little cute (★w★)).
DANGER: elephants and scary sounds provided.
