About the Game
Witness the sinking of RMS Titanic. Explore the shipwreck. Titanic VR is a diving simulator and immersive interactive story. With over 6 hours of game-play Titanic VR you will leave with a greater understanding of the historic tragedy that unfolded in 1912.
Diving to the bottom of the North Atlantic, you take on the role of Dr. Ethan Lynch, Associate Professor of Maritime Archaeology at the fictional University of Nova Scotia. With funding from a mysterious investor, Dr. Lynch and his PhD Candidate Jean Robinson have set out aboard a research vessel to dive the wreck of Titanic and answer questions that have remained submerged for a century. This game allows you to explore the shipwreck inside and out and recover items and complete missions such as recovery of a downed ROV, Documentary Film Making and the creation of a photomosaic.
In the 1912 experience, players will witness key events through the eyes of a survivor onboard lifeboat 6. It is an historically accurate recreation of events, based on eye-witness testimony and substantial research. Players will leave with a deeper understanding of this historic and tragic event.

It is the first time I went in tears in VR, watching the tragedy of the Titanic unfolding little by little. Then, I found the exploration of the shipwreck to be too good to be true. Surely, the graphics are low resolution, but it remains a surreal experience. I can recommend this title along with the Apollo 11 VR HD, or on its own.
What you basically get with this game is a 1 hour ride considering:
- Witnessing the sink of Titanic from a passager's perspecive (no interaction);
- Guided tour covering many of the Titanic rooms and spaces while bringing historic information about them and what happened;
There is also a sandbox experience (exploration on your own) if you like that
I honestly found both experiences very good however its basically watching a movie.
The 3D models are detailed but I believe the textures couldnt match them so improving them would bring more realism to the experience as overall.
I recommend the purchase. Seeing the ship getting wrecked in front of you can hit hard on emotion.
a fascinating and informative, detailed tour of the wreck site. though the game doesn't seem to mention it, you can ACTUALLY traverse the whole site, debris field and all!
As an admirer of the Titanic and its story, I can honestly say, out of all the videos I've watched, all the games I've played (with or without the sinking) and all the mods which scatter the internet for various games across various genres, this is the best by far experience you can ever have when it comes to the Titanic. Not only is it powerful, not only does it look amazing, but it genuinely hits you, and in all seriousness, I teared up once the ship had gone. Titanic VR is a prime example of the level of realism and the amount of emotion which can be produced and/or injected into a game. This is a serious game which sets a serious example to those games which go out to emotionally cripple the player, well done.
