40/100 bad game design

Bare bones, sub-par tower defense game. Over-priced at $1.99, might be worth it for a quarter.
Animation is poor, and the main conceit is a a four sided map, which is more irritating than interesting as you constantly have to rotate it to see what the heck is going on.
Strategic options are minimal, a very simple path, and no pathing. No tactical options, like spells, everything a TD game should have, this one lacks.
Getting my money back.
This is by far my favorite tower defense game ever created. I wish the creator would tune some things or add more maps. I'd love to connect with the developer and offer feedback on tower tuning and quality of life fixes (like being able to collect gold from mines with one click)
Its pure strategy. With careful planning you can go far in this game. But sadly it is easy to get over confident on what you are doing in it and fixing mistakes can be vary costly. While the second life feature is nice, it does not allow you to stack multiple earned ones, I.E. your extra life earn bar show 200%+ ready for use; but if you use it, the bonus life is rest back to 0%.

fun game the idea of leveling the towers to make different things is cool the problem is too much micro management not enough funds and a lack of reward for upgrading your towers. that your range doesnt change irritated me immensely my 2000gold tower still only fired 4 feet away.

I died at wave 20 when the last goblin of the wave hit my castle. Would play it again.

The Short of it: Deceptively challenging tower defense game, featuring hordes of Gobbos. To have any chance at surviving, you must manage the economy well, and place towers in the right spots. Quite indie, but decent.
Nerrrr.... Even though this is positive, I generally dislike games of this genre. Plus this game, in all honesty IS REALLY DARN HARD. The somewhat insulting thing is that I got all the way to round 41, to when the ice king goblin spawns... and the darn thing reaches my castle when his health bar is virtually empty. Yeah the green bar was totally empty when he just barely manages to hit my castle destroying it. But this is an addictive game.
It's very good for a single-level endless-mode only TD with no meta-progression other than steam-achievements.
Usually the only things I really want from my TD's are: more than one level, anything but endless-mode and some kind of progression between levels. To my surprise it seems I like this game more each time I play it.
Maybe it's the challenge, or maybe it's just the steam achievements. I haven't really figured that out yet.
Once any goblins get close enough damage the castle the game is over since your turret won't attack there no matter if it is in range so this is essentially a single life game, which doesn't make any sense. Repairing the castle makes even less sense since there is no way to kill that single goblin that got past and therefore even if you repair the castle that same goblin just keeps damaging it over again.
Can pay this game no greater compliment than its keeps me coming back for that "one more try".
Addicting and hard.
The ability to stop the game and continue at a later time would be useful, as time pressures (going out) forced me to give a potentially winning run.
This is a great tower defense. Definitely difficult and requires a lot of thought in placing and upgrading in the right order. Very interesting and definitely worth its very cheap price if you like challenging tower defense games.
a good challenge. not too easy.
Coming from a person who plays tower defense and strategy games quite a bit, the game is definitely on the harder side of the spectrum. You'll probably lose a lot at first, that's just the kind of game it is. If it stick with it though, you'll find that it has a surprising bit of depth to it.
Probably the most interesting thing about this game is that you're in charge of defending 4 seperate lanes simultaneously, so you'll constantly have to evaluate the defenses of each individual region to make sure that they're up for the task. Waves you beat in the starting section of the map will reappear in the other sections of the map at a delay of several waves, but each lane also has a different path, and some are set up to be easier or harder than others. It's kind of an interesting exercise in remembering how you beat certain waves and then adapting and reapplying that strategy to the other lanes.
Overall I would say that it's pretty interesting if you have the patience to deal with how unforgiving it can be at times.
The devs are also pretty active in the forums, so bonus points for that.
A hidden gem!
If you think you're getting another tower defense game by buying this game, you are going to be disappointed.
This game is really hard and very addictive. You have to perfect the layout of the towers and manage your economy to achieve higher waves.
At the begining you think you can overlook the economy and place some low level towers everywhere, but that won't get you nowhere. You have to master the tower upgrades and save money for bigger challenges as they increase fast.
Also, you play in four different landscapes at the same time and monsters will appear in 6 different spawn points at the same time, making it harder to just follow that one path. You have to be multi-task to nail them! And that's awesome! Thank God you can pause the game to think better the layout distribution.
The art design is pretty cool, giving it a feel of a board game. It reminds me of Storm The Castle. I don't know if they made it on purpose, but the reference is awesome. Some towers also make me remember Age of Empires; the tiles, any 90s RPG game like Final Fantasy.
The animations are pretty cool for an indie and specialy for a tower defense game. If you zoom in you can see the small details like war tattoos on the goblins and the attention to small details is something I like in a game.
I wonder if someone will get to wave 500 some day. Looking forward to checking the leaderboard in the future to see that.

Hard but enjoyable and very addictive.
At first glance this game might look like so many other TDs but it's USP is that there are actually four maps and you defend on all of them at the same time. Or at least you will if you can advance far enough into the game.
At the time of writing the best I've achieved is Wave 24 and defended on three of the maps at the same time.
The game can be brutal in it's difficulty at first but if you persist you can figure things out about optimal placement of towers and when to (or not) upgrade and buy mines to bolster your gold supply.
Also you can repair your castle in the centre of the map but there is a trade off between doing that and buying towers or upgrades. Tactically the game is quite deep for a TD game and initially trial and error will be the only way to learn.
If you get far enough into the game you get the chance to have a "second life" where you can start the level again if something goes wrong. I've been close to getting the second life but haven't quite achieved it yet. I suspect that it might be unlocked at Wave 25.
The dev is very open to suggestions on how the gameplay can be improved and is actually writing a strategy guide to aid players due to the brutal difficulty.
Despite the almost roguelike nature of the learning curve it keeps drawing me back to play it again just to see if I can get a bit farther in the game.
I bought it on release and paid £1.01 for it. It's much better than most TD games released in that price range and more addictive and enjoyable than most TD that cost five or six times that price.
If you like TD games you should buy it.
