Started by two pals with no experience while they were working at a dry cleaners, Zorbit's Orbits involves hardcore platforming elements, puzzle solving, and intense boss fights. The levels are circular, requiring the player to consider each planet's gravity as they hop or orbit between them. Zorbit can also use his grapple hook in order to reach new places and shoot his blaster to defeat the evil Globulons, organic monsters with an appetite for robot.
Zorbit’s Orbits includes 8 hand-drawn, incredibly detailed levels, with a funky soundtrack and tons of secrets to discover.
Try your hand at several difficulty levels, everything from infinite lives to one-hit game overs.

Zorbit's Orbits is a garbage 2D retro platformer with one twist, it uses a number of different "gravity" sources so your jumping around must work within the confines of small planetoids. Other than that the gameplay is stale, dead platformer stuff, you can shoot, jump, but that's about it. Gameplay is more orientated around precision platforming within the gravity framework, but this is stymied by many elements of the poor technical execution.
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
The game features noisy cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The noisy art style detracts from clean gameplay, another important factor that professional developers understand and amateur developers don't.
In a sheer insult to PC gamers, while the controls can be customised and the keyboard "works", the developer demands that you should use a console peasant children's toy gamepad to play this garbage game. This is simply unacceptable, developers must never dictate to gamers how a game is to be consumed.
While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this game was never accepted on the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Zorbit's Orbits didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. Every achievement has the same achievement rate, which is highly suspicious. Only around 24 percent of players bothered to get any achievements, but any players who did get achievements got them all. That implies the small player base for the game was "Cheating" or using some other method supplied by the developer to knock out the achievements... or that they're bugged. Either way, this is hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game as the achievements show less than 1 in 4 players actually played it for any amount of time.
It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers (Mihail Morosanu etc) and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Zorbit's Orbits is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Got dizzy fast!
Good idea but frustrating level and visual design.
The two Indie Devs did a great job... i like the game! =)
One small glitch: Game crashed after killing first boss... I died exactly in the same moment.. It tried to reset my location and probably couldn't do that for the already killed boss = crash.
Not really my style game. Reminded me of playing the Chester Cheeta game on the SNES, namely the clnky movement and bad music.
I wasn't going to say anything except I was caught in a glitch 7 minutes in to the first level. There are 1-way doors which allow you to retry a failed jump. Sell, my body went through, but my wheel stayed below. I was totally trapped. I didn't even look for a checkpoint system. F this game. Fail.
P.S. Pressing Post Review I was met with a prompt saying I needed to play for 5 minutes to leave a review.
I tried to restart the game. Already running.
On top of it all, this is one of those games which stays running in the background after you close it!

TLDR: Nauseating rotation level design gimmick. Physics oriented obstacles that are poorly crafted and hard to execute. Storymode and levelmode distinction pointless.
This is a low quality sidescroll shooter in which you rotate around orbs and bungee to different orbs through trampolines. The assets did not come across as original creations, but at least all fit together thematically. Levels were short mostly involving going from left to right, collecting coins, the end boss being bulletsponges. It is rather hard to defend from boss attacks since your bullets arc in an odd way that feel rather unpredictable and you need to shoot enemy bullets with your own.
Overall this game does not really hold up. Stands as a great example of library clutter. The few original ideas are poorly implemented, the earthworm jim style hook and swing mechanic was hit and miss as you had to highlight anchor points for a very short reaction window to hook at all. The physics would accelerate and decelerate at an odd pacing.
Xbox360 pad worked out of box but there were no resolution options in the menu. The game is very forgettable with little story or lore to help it stand out.
Would advise you just play a proper metroidvania style shooter or contra style shooter or even any half decent platformer. This is really slapdash amateur.
Odd hit boxes on certain areas, bad swinging momentum mechanic where i just stop all the time. the game itself is a good idea but its just clunky.
It was just in my library so I believe it was free.
If the game had trading cards it would be worth the price.
Zorbit’s Orbits feels like someone’s first flash game. Jump, shoot, and grapple your way across spherical alien...structures? I guess? The whole game has a sort of 80s or 90s feel to it, with a “cool guy” blasting aliens and all.
There are five difficulties, and collectible cogs and rocks. It’s a simple game, and the only gripes I have about it are the odd default controls (which can be changed) and the somewhat...lackluster grappling mechanic. Jumping is floaty, but manageable, but if you don’t swing at least a little on a grapple point, you may not make it to the next one.
Zorbit's Orbits is a simple game, and I can't condemn it past the grappling thing. I'm pretty neutral towards it, so decide for yourself if you want it.
Interesting visually and I like the idea of some of the mechanics but the frustrating level design and controls make it difficult to get into this. There is a lot of potential here though.
Fun game! Interesting use of changing frame of reference, changes perspective quite a bit and makes for some unique level design. Also makes me feel like an idiot on higher difficulties, mostly due to me being an idiot.
Nice stuff, brought back some old school memories of Jazz Jackrabbit. A cool concept/vision that's nicely made, good sound design & graphics, clever levels. Only dipping in and out myself as platformers aren't usually my thing, but at that price it's good wholesome fun so I can only recommend it!
