Impossible to get past the first and second development goals on any difficulty setting. Stupid game.

It seems like it has potential, but the UI is clunky, there's still bugs and the tutorial is severely lacking. And the last activity from the developer was well over a year ago and they don't seem to have any desire to continue working on it, so the state it's in now is how it's gonna stay. Wouldn't pay any money for this.
It's a hard game, but I do like the ability to start a software startup from scratch. I'd recommend to those that enjoy tycoon / start up type games.
A fun tycoon simulation with a unique system for product development, and an enjoyable take on a variety of other disciplines involved in building a successful software business (notably pricing, marketing, staffing, and raising capital).
I have played this on and off through Early Access and into the v1.0 release. It is quite well polished for what I understand was an out-of-hours project by a single indie developer.
My only gripe would be a lack of depth: the mid- to late-game goes pretty quickly and could use additional mechanics to extend meaningful play time. On writing this, I have about 9 hours total play time, comprising already a handful of playthroughs, and have obtained all but one of the Steam achievements.
Nevertheless, it is priced appropriately, so if you are into high-level management sims, or just want to try your hand at launching your own startup, I would say this is a worthy purchase for a few hours' entertainment and some unique perspectives on building a startup that are not found in other games of the genre.
Brilliant game and really playable. I didn't expect to like it, but I ended up playing it for about 4 hours. I did two companies. The first sold for $350 million, the next for $1.6 billion. I don't know if I'll play it any more as it probably needs some more variety, or some different sub games. Or maybe it needs a follow-up game where you're an investor looking at startups to invest your buckets of cash in? I don't know. That said I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and the mechanics of it.
The game is attractive but it's just lacking any instruction or tutorial or even the feature to hover over icons and maybe a window pop up that gives a brief description of where and what things do would be nice. To make this short I refunded before I went any further because I would rather have the money they end up at the end of this unsatisfied for the lack of depth. I will revisit a year from now and see if anything got better. Thanks for the play though it was confusing but I had some fun for the last hour.
The game has potential but from the 115 minutes I played it I was not impressed with some lack of clarity in how to progress. I had to desperately seek investors despite having put in a good amount of effort into the design of my product and marketing. However, I couldn't find enough users to purchase the product. I fealt that it wasn't worth the effort of trying to learn it either because there isn't enough guides in the game to teach you how best to manage your company. If more effort is put into the game I might try it again in the future but for now I'm going to have to pass.
Finally! A business tycoon game around software which actually properly takes into account making the product.
All business tycoon games revolve around a product or service which you actually can improve, look at Transport Fever around transport, look at Planet Coaster around a theme park. But software development business tycoons, be it game dev tycoon, software inc. or mad games tycoon, all revolve only about the overhead business sides except for the occasional meaningless slider which has no clear effect whatsover and could just be random.
This game includes the product as a puzzle, which you use to create and improve your product. It is a bit shallow for now but I certainly hope the developer will make it deeper and a bigger part of the game. It makes it possible to do something meaningfull.
This game is a perfect combination of various pieces. Everything it simulates is boiled down to the core of the underlying business concept. Its balance makes it a perfect game for a Sunday afternoon, or probably even more.
It is really well done, polished and sucks you into the world of startups.
Shame I bought it. For now at least. I couldnt get past the 3 playing hour mark.
One word to sum it up: TEDIOUS means: '' too long, slow, or dull; tiresome or monotonous''
Lacks a good explanation on game mechanics. The investors pitch is a hit and miss, did not feel any logic behind the investor decisions. Then you get to sales figures vs marketing, 3 words in 3 letters double you T F! Does not make sense at all you spend 1k or 10k on any segment and it yields you 3 users per cycle/sprint. Also, wish I could disable the hints/tips as they keep apearing every time I create a new game, read it once, do not need to read it again! It is useless anyways does not explain much and sometimes I rather listen to someone explain something rather than read a text. Audio files are easy to record and put in game, did that with minimal coding on a game I coded once.
Employee happiness: I actually increased salary and got TV's etc and some still quit so was not sure what the heck was going on. Then you go bust because investors walk out on the pitch, read above why, and you end up bankrupt then game over.
Speaking of bankrupt, on one game load I got to minus $200, yes thats two hundred, and then week in week out went up to minus $18 dollars then I went bankrupt. Bankrupt because of being in the minus for $18 Dollars! So I just threw away the towel and hope not to see this game again. For now at least.
Would love to continue playing, I actually checked out the credits, hats of to the guys as they built a great concept, built it on from other similar games in a better way. Audio and graphics are actually cool for this type of game. UI/UX needs tweaking, some depth wouldnt hurt. Then maybe I could pick it up again.

Well, where to begin with Startup Freak...
Not a 'unique' idea in itself by all accounts, the game is quite easy and quick to learn. Basic graphics at best im afraid, and simple enough to play and follow the game once you know the basics.
Nice little time waster, and has some replay value in that the scenarios change each time. UI is very easy to understand and with some fleshing out as its updated it should be quite a good game.
So far it is rather enjoyable. The game isnt "hard" but it does lack clarity in several aspects when just starting out but i am sure the developer will fix that as time goes on.
This game has a nice balance of stress, that is going years in a row without making money as you are building your company up just like in real life.
This is a tycoon game that fits well in the genre and brings its own special flavor.
No endless game mode!
I expected to have a game with endless game like any tycoon game, but it will end after you sell your company. As this happend after 4 hours for me, i also cannot get a refund since steam support dont read the resonsing or dont care.
I feel a bit ripped of now.
The game itself is fun for a short period, but repeat itself alot toward the end. There is not much of replayability, although since it is early access this might of course change.
At this time, this is a very shallow game with very little nuance. Past 3-4 hours, it is a repetative clicker. Do not spend your money on this game now.
Fun game! Striking a balance of spending money and improving your product will take several failed attempts, much like real life! It's actually quite educational as well; using actual tech startup terminology like sprints. The devs definitely deserve your $10 for this great game! :)
Feels quite short, and lacks tips about how things work.
Some way of extending game duration would be nice like more in-game goals, better servers to upkeep user numbers.
But overall it's quite nice!
I bought it yesterday and its pretty simple but still a great and enjoyable game, first time I played it, I got stuck on the computer for 6 hours and actually almost forgot to get dinner. I dont now if thats positive or not but oh well, It´s a great game atleast and I will play it for a long time. I´m also super excited for future updates! I definitely recommend this, Because it´s a cheap but enjoyable game.
Fun and rather simple game, it feels like a clicker game, with fewer things to do.
I would say there is about 4-6 hours gameplay, beyond that it's very repetitive.
There are 3 goals set for you to reach and it takes around 1-2 hours to do so, after that its just skipping turns and waiting. There are 3 difficulties, I would recommend for you to start on the easy one and then Normal and then the hardest, just to get a small amount of replayability.
Overall is it a decent game, just don't expect more than 6 hours gameplay, so if you got the 8-9 euro to waste (spend) i would do so.
