If it looks like a turd and acts like a turd, it's a turd.
I wanted to like this game and be the only person to leave a positive comment, but I honestly cannot.
The game kind of just throws you into this seated position in front of a computer in a truck's container somewhere. There are prompts above the screen to tell you how to start the game, such as using the mouse which didn't make much sense to me. I lifted my visor in real life and tried to use the mouse on my actual computer and it didn't work in the game and that's when I realized they were referring to the mouse in the game. So I grabbed it and it became like a laser pointer.
I tried to do the first mission but it was incredibly difficult to control at first but I eventually got the hang of it. The first mission I was presented was to, apparently, destroy the shield around the base. This was prompted to me by a sign that was in the sky, just to my right but I would not have seen it had the drone not been shot down and the camera tilted for me to see this sign. So that's when I tried to destroy the shield. But shooting it didn't seem to do anything and there didn't seem to be any control station or anything else.
After dying 3 or 4 times, a woman told me I had failed the mission and I was transported back to the desk with the computer. I have no idea how to begin to defeat that mission but I did learn how to pilot the drone, somewhat, as well as shoot and target.
The targeting in the game is very difficult to control. It is difficult to get a steady aim on anyone and the enemies seem to have a lot of health, more so than they should while I was shot down pretty easily. There also didn't seem to be any way to go about the mission stealthy. Any time I got anywhere near an enemy, they noticed me and shot me down. It seems like the enemies need to be calibrated in terms of sensing and instead they appear to be psychic and know where the player is even if it's behind them or far above them.
The idea is cool and there is potential in this game. I hope there will be some improvements.
I am playing with a Windows Mixed Reality headset, which I know can sometimes cause compatibility issues. From what I saw, I don't believe there were any compatibility issues with this headset.
For now, I do not think I would recommend the game to anyone in the state it is in, especially for the full price. Fortunately I paid a lot less in a sale, a price that I feel is more appropriate and fair for what the game is.
