'No taxation without representation' is actually a valid premise if it wasn't for the fact the 'Sons of Liberty' purposefully LARPed as IndianNatives to throw off the Brits and embody a more 'primitive' essence that opposed the assumed threat of European civility. It was a scummy and dishonest practice that not only spits upon the people that were there first, of origin and any sane human being who enjoys fine tea.
Not only that, it was completely unnecessary as Britain was about to yield the US their independence regardless. The whole act was just an excuse to have a power trip and soothe the colonists' fragile ego while ensuring the official story is they 'crushed and humiliated' the enemy.
'Sons of Liberty' is a terrible name for the drunken bunch of pissy tantrum babies who didn't want to pay just taxes.

It's pratically free.
For the price if you like strategy, you should give it a go.
You get what is exactly what you saw in the shop. This game is very fun but to an extent, there isnt enough variation or things to do or collect.
A simple wargame set during the American War of independence. Specifically, the Boston area.
The risk like aesthetic is pretty neat and gameplay is pretty engaging and active. What you see on the pictures is pretty much what you get. There are several types of units with stats reflecting their purpose.
There are some downsides, though. You cant turn on a hex grid for ease of overview, you can see where it is easier to traverse or where is harder (it reflects how far your units can go), you cant select individual scenarios and there is no restart button. Also, the damage that you do can be quite random in its range.
But for the price of the game, its a steal. Wish there were more games like this.
7.5/10
Simple and enjoyable hex war game. Got it on sale for 39p but is worth full price. Has the potential to be developed further and would like to see the developer continue with these games.
Highly Recommend! For what this game is it is an absolute gem.
I bought this game and its Civil War themed sequel for only $1. I already love these games, and I haven't even tried any of the multi player modes yet. This game's not without a couple of forgivable flaws. If your mouse has a high DPI rate, you might want to use keyboard controls to navigate.
These games eliminate the biggest downside to table top war games. Most games take a long time to set up, and even longer to get past the "Opening Game" phase where you move toward engaging the enemy. For true fans of tactical board games this game would be a bargain even at a cost of several dollars. If the devs wanted to, they could easily add a few simple features like more maps that would make this game a great value even at a cost of $5 or more.
PRO TIP: Both games are quite challenging, you might even call the Civil War version difficult. This is largely due to your being wildly outnumbered in terms of Artillery, Cavalry, and Reinforcements. Lead with infantry in tight formation protecting your cannons and horsemen
I love it very nice with some bugs that break the game but other than that its fun its cheap what else do you need?
Really cheap game that I am enjoying, it is not too easy, not too difficult. Experiencing some bugs, but not on the actual gameplay. Simple game mechanics and easy to understand combat.
Perfectly serves its purpose.
Quick and fun! Only issue I have with it is that the 'The End' screen is a painting by John Trumbull named 'Surrender of General Burgoyne' commemorating the success of the campaign of Saratoga. General Washington wasn't there, it was General Horatio Gates :)
Really cheap and goes on sale for even cheaper during big events. For the price, it's a fun little game that will make even has a hot seat to let you play your friends. Not bad all in all.
Interesting historical turn-based miniature-figurine war game
It's very simple and easy to get into, the campaign is short but for understandable reasons as the main attraction is probably the hot seat local 1v1 mode.
Recommended if you want to kill time!
Very short and very simple. Play hotseat mode and breeze through the game to get a couple achievements. Less than an hour of playtime.
Hello everybody!
I just finished this game and I have to say it was a suprising game. It was a very fun, simplistic tactical game and I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you want a historical game, this is not the game for you, but if you want a fun and quick turn based war game, then I would suggest that you pick it up.
My only problem with the game is that the campaign is only 4 missions long, you can literally finish it in about 30-40 minutes.
Thanks for reading, I hope it helped.
Paid $ 0.62 for the game. It was fun for 51 minutes until the game crashed. The game awards you scores when you win, not sure how the scores are calculated but I've not even been close to cracking the top 10 so far. One important thing to note about the game is there is no grand strategy map, just various battles that you continue to play (if that makes any sense.)
It is a very simplistic yet enjoyable game that leads you through the battles in the American revolution. One can come to enjoy the details on the map with the locations and added details of documents added onto the map itself. Overall I would for sure recommend this to anyone who likes turn based strategy for a simplistic, and relaxed experience.
This is a short little game that is worth its price. It isn't at all historically accurate, and really consists more of moving figures reminiscent of toy soldiers to defeat others. You play as the Patriots and have to destroy the Redcoats. Depending on your set-up you either have to wipe them all out or just the enemy general.
As I said, it is at least worth its price.
This Game is easy cheap and gives fun for a long time considering the price. While this game has some negitive features, its very fun, i call it an addition.
-Pros: Cheap and easy to pick up
-Has many ways to play
-has mutiplayer for 1.00!
-Cons: Werid menu
-Stiff Camera
It's a nice little hex-based combat-strategy game. Well worth 1USD. Feels like a mix between Ultimate General: Gettysburg and the combat in Civ 5.
I started wargaming in the 80's, when a flood of small, inexpensive games hit the market. Metagaming and SPI were among the first to offer a whole game for just three or four dollars. Pretty soon TSR was churning them out as well. This is very much that sort of game- hexboard, attack/defensive-move. Nothing revolutionary here (irony). But it is the sort of thing you'll like if you like that sort of thing.
A note on the simple graphics- simple does not always mean bad. The bare-bones graphics add a lot of class and atmosphere to the game. The map is a hex grid laid over a vintage sepia map- very pretty.
This is not the kind of game you will want to play for hundreds of hours. But it's crazy cheap and easy to learn. Most fun you can have for a dollar.
It a little quick easy tactical fun for a low price. It has four battles, and variable goals and levels, so a little replayability as well. You can move and shoot each unit as you go, so it gives you an idea of where you're at in a particular place in the battle as you go.
It's great for a few cents; it's perfect for tabletop wargaming fans who love a small break from reality and step into history and chaos.
You start off by selecting 4 gamemodes- Easy, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. Nightmare is not too difficult-the AI is not stupid, nor overwhemingly difficult to crush. A great feature they include is the different value of each same unit type. For example, the infantry can have good damage, but bad defence. It makes you feel like-for a history buff like me-you have to control over certain troops such as militita, to regulars.
You can only play as the 'Patriots.'
The battles are great. It ends at Yorktown-which is pretty cool. The map for it has the water surrounding, and you have to fight your way through artillery into the heart of the town; just like the real battle.
You get to do 'hotseat' which is pass and play; great for a break between lovers of simple, yet chaotic tabletop gaming.
8/10.
As with the Civil War game that came before this, I continue to feel I'm more than getting $.99 worth of fun. This is by no means an accurate recreation of battles, but it's simple to learn and play and I enjoy it. Would love to see a World War 2 version in the future!
