Now hear me out, I have lost time and time again to this one big chucklenut. I will alway maintain the belief that he has definitely purchased not only the Supreme Prima Strategy guide and the original Bottom of the 9th board game to find ways to somehow load the virtual dice to KICK THE DIRT on my runner on third or crush it before his 3rd out.

For $0.99 this game has brought me nothing but genuine pain for 12 games straight.

EDIT: it's 12-1 now and I want to retire.

I play this with my friend often. He has continually challenged me to matches despite my 12-1 record. Great little game 10/10.

Update 7/22: He finally won a game.

Ugh. Maybe it's confirmation bias, but the rolls definitely don't feel random. On top of that, the gameplay just wasn't very fun. Would not recommend.

It's easily one of the best games you can get for a buck. The RNG can be a little brutal, but it's a fun time waster and the art style for the baseball cards is neat.

There is almost no strategy, you only roll die. It get boring and frustrating fast.

This is my first ever review.
My advice would be to buy a physical copy of this board game.
The digital game itself is fantastic, and great fun.
My major issue that has caused me to write this review, and advise you to save the £0.79 pence this game costs, is that there is a finite amount of dice role animations and therefore it feels like rolling the dice is out of your control.
The developers really need to make the dice rolling mechanic truly random. When you have played enough games you will notice that, immediately, when the dice begins its role animation you will be able to call the face it will land on before it has finished its role. This can cause you to feel very frustrated and give you a feeling of the game being against you.
So, developers PLEASE work on that dice rolling mechanic!
Only then will this game will be worth the time and money of other Steam users.

A sim cards and dice baseball game with a bit of a different twist. No stat tracking and standings with this but it doesn't mean there aren't achievements to get and multiple modes to play including MPer that make it worth while. Got this in the Steam Summer Sale at less than $2 I believe which was a steal. At that price I would always recommend it. Got to say to with this game that the presentation is decent. Love the music in this. Also love the cutout looking players. Odd to see at first but they grow on you as they fit this game and it is nice to see a different art style for this sort of game. As for on the field well at the plate everything looks pretty good but when a ball is hit I kind of wish there was something different for a view but honestly it is not different than you see in any other game. Also the player cards look great. So yeah just a nice little game. If you are looking for something baseball, something different, something cards and dice and something somewhat casual this is for you. Thanks developer for a fun game and yeah I know I should have paid more for this. Oh and almost forgot make sure if you play this go into the settings and speed up the game to about 85 or 90% of the bar as that seems to be the sweet spot for playing the game.

This game is adorable, and a fun baseball simulation. 9/10

This is a fun game quick and simple.
It's the bottom of the 9th and you need 1 point to win the game.

Some of you may find this useful.

When a S (Strike) is rolled the batting player need to roll bigger then that to hit.
If same number is rolled will result to a foul.
When a B (Ball) is rolled the batting player need to roll the same number or lower to get a ball.
When a C (Crush) is rolled the batting player must roll the same number to hit.

Whenever you hit the ball with a 6 you Crush It!
Then you roll once more if you roll 6 (Homerun) 5 (Double) 3-4 (Single)

If you're the pitcher whenever a batting player change you get relief on fatigue equals to the number of empty bases (exclude home base).

Also when you are running the base after rolling 5 or 6 don’t forget to click on the top or bottom bar to confirm.

I went in not expecting much, but this game is well worth the price of admission, the campaign mode can be a good use of your time, it’s fun

Well, this game was surprise! As an avid boardgame player, I was tempted to buy the physical game years ago in a bookstore when traveling for business in Alabama and was attracted to the old style graphics and solo variant.

For $.99 this little gem is rather addicting for a half inning of play! Well, now to spend more money on the physical copy.

This is a very fun 2-player table top game that translates pretty well to online play.

This game is almost fun but it ultimately just comes down to rolling dice when you make contact to see if you are safe or out. Whoever rolls a 5 or 6 wins. I do like the idea of the campaign series but again it just comes down to these simple rolls. There is very little you can do to mitigate this. No matter how well you strategize your lineup and batting in the campaign it just comes down to rolling dice and seeing who rolls a 5 or 6 first. I think that wouldn't be so bad if you played an entire game but to lose a game after making contact and losing this dice roll for three batters is just frustrating because then you lose the game.

I weirdly had a lot of fun playing that game. I don't think it's great, and it's definitely not for everyone, but as someone who likes both baseball and dice games, I found Bottom of the 9th to be a good adaptation of that classic sport into a dice game. It's simple, and it's way too luck-based to be anywhere close to baseball, but it does include every phase from baseball and makes it into a silly board game. This digital port is excellent: I don't think it adds much to the original game, but the animations are cool and it does a good job of handling the board games components (the tokens and the dice).

The game has overall a fun retro field in its aesthetics. I like it.

The tutorial does feel a bit long, and it should have been made so that you get the expected results faster than usual (which is maybe the case, but if so I didn't notice a difference) in order to get through it quickly. Otherwise, it's pretty clear and straightforward.

This is a great game that really captures the feel of baseball. I can't think of a better endorsement. I look forward to updates that include stats and eventually additional pitchers/batters/support characters. I'm considering buying this for iOS so I can play more. Starting pickup games is a little awkward but still works great.

This is a fun little game brought to cardboard and inc from Greater than Games, and made into 1s and 0s by Handelabra. It's a fun little game where you play the last inning of a tied game of baseball. Playing as either the batters or the pitchers are very fun and can provide some light entertainment for about 10 minutes to a half hour at a time. There is a bit of a downside where you have to pay attention to the tutorial to understand what all the dice mean, but if you get past that, there is a fun lighthearted game that you can enjoy.

Just a note, it is also available on apple and android and maybe slightly better optimized for those (I haven't played that version so I don't know). Still very fun on Steam though.

Really, that intro song alone is nearly worth the price. Who doesn't love that song? They must have blown 90% of their budget getting that recorded. I had this on my wishlist, and came back the to the store page a few times just to hear the song, then bought it.

This isn't a typical baseball game at all. You could say it cuts out all of the boring bits, along with some realism (there are no errors for example). It hyperfocuses on a few batters, in one half inning. Only one half inning... if the Home Team doesn't score, it's assumed that the Visitors win in extra innings. So it definitely does a great job of building tension and, there being some RNG, you're never going to win every time even if you're an expert.

I personally think the game works too hard to present itself as a board game, with the rolling dice for each move that would likely get old after a while. But that's purely about your taste. I'm not too much into it, but the game is still well worth it yo me. You might love that asthetic.

I didn't buy it at full price, but I wouldn't have a problem recommending a full price buy on this one. The atmosphere and replayability are fantastic for such a small game.

A digital adaptation of a board game that recreates the end of a baseball match, the batting team must make one point to win. The main mechanic is ingenious: the batter tries to guess where the pitcher will throw the ball (four choices). According to the results, the batter or the pitcher (or both) has the possibility to modify the dice roll using power-ups. There is a fatigue effect, the pitcher can only use his stronger pitch a few times. Each character has different characteristics and you can try different line-ups for your team. There is some randomness, and a good suspense on each dice roll, with also a part of strategy. No need to know much about baseball. There is a good tutorial. A match (against AI, online or pass-and-play) is not very long with the possibility of a solo campaign of 6 matches that adds some events and conditions. A very fun little game, with a cheerful atmosphere.

Bottom of the 9th is a stellar recreation of the surprisingly crafty board game.

This is not a simulation of baseball in its entirety. There are no tables and charts and multi-season spreadsheets of management tools.

This is, as the name of the title implies, a cut to the chase, "in the moment" duel between pitcher and batters. It's quick, it's decisive, it's cat and mouse.

This is not a dice fest of chucking dice, wildly guessing possible pitches out of nowhere and leaving the results to chance. There is guesswork, but it's narrowly defined and scoped to plausible situations. Example: The pitcher is fatigued, thus he can't use his ace pitch. Batter will have a narrow set of possibilities. Or, pitcher is *close* to fatigued, but not quite. Will they try and slip in a quick ace pitch at 2-0? Or will they try to deceive and outthink the batter?

Another game, Baseball Highlights 2045, is a solid gem, probably the best baseball simulation game I've ever played in both digital and analog formats. The inevitable comparison between the two will conclude (for me) that BH2045 is the best game overall, but Bot9th stands solidly in its own right as a faster, tense experience.

Digitally speaking, Bottom of the 9th on digital platform is straightforward. The tutorials are precise and not elongated with fluff. The game UI is easy to understand, the extra modes are pleasant diversions and add more than the analog game.

Baseball Highlights:2045 was a pretty lackluster digital experience; in fact, it was probably subpar and didn't really showcase the board game it was based on as well as it ought to have. This is not true for Bottom of the 9th, which definitively presents the board game with its best foot forward.

For the $5 I paid for it, it will be one of those 'exploding gems' that gives way, way, way more value than the cost.
