A TILE PLACEMENT GAME OF CREATING LANDSCAPES, CLAIMING AREAS, AND GAINING POINTS
Carcassonne is a modern classic tile-placement game based on the award wining game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it. The tile might feature a city, a road, a cloister, grassland or some combination thereof, and it must be placed adjacent to tiles that have already been played, in such a way that cities are connected to cities, roads to roads, et cetera. The player can then decide to place one of his followers, so called Meeples, on one of the areas on it: on the city as a knight, on the road as a robber, on a cloister as a monk, or on the grass as a farmer. When that area is complete, that meeple scores points for its owner. Each new game is a new experience thanks to the ever-changing landscape.
ENJOY FUN AND TACTICAL GAMEPLAY
During a game of Carcassonne, players are faced with decisions like: "Is it really worth putting my last meeple there?" or "Should I use this tile to expand my city, or should I place it near my opponent instead, making it harder for him to complete his goal and score points?" Since players place only one tile and have the option to place one meeple on it, turns proceed quickly even if it is a game full of options and possibilities.

Now I can practice to beat my friends irl.
a good enough implementation of a well known game.
Map pieces could be more clear, but it is what it is.
love this game
It is easy to learn and fun to play with other people.
It is hard to win a game. I haven't caught on how to outsmart the bots. I don't play it enough I seem to loose my land before the game ends.
Not the best version of the game, but the only one, so as good as its rules and gameplay.

Just like the board game, but with the ability to play against different kinds of computer personalities. It's fun!
Long story short, I had this as a board game. I had this on the Xbox 360 years ago when they gave it to me for free. I have it now on Steam, not for free lol.
As for this version? No complaints? The Xbox version is about as flawless as you can get and this is basically the exact same game as that...and it works. I
well, I just don't know anybody anymore so I have no reason to start the game up lol.
Just finally reinstalled it for the first time in years.
Have fun with it, peeps!
Awesome adaptation of the board game. Really enjoyable and relaxing to play. Highly recommend for those who enjoy strategy games.
It's Carcassone. You already know it's a masterpiece.
Great strategy game that is more complex than it first appears. The skill parts of the game involve thinking about how to use the puzzle pieces in ways that help you score points but also make your opponents castles difficult to finish. Playing against all humans in person is much more fun than a computer game cause when you pull that killer tile against your buddies and know exactly where to place it for full advantage...it is very satisfying when a good plan comes together! If you like Catan but get 2D12 dice fatigue, this game is perfect. No Dice in Carcasonne means less luck and more skill. Also, i highly recommend the expansion packs. The basic game with the River is an ok starting point, but get the packs for variety
perfect adaptation. so much easier to keep track of scoring (especially fields) than playing the physical game
This is a great game, one of the first board games that I've played seriously. 1 v 1 can be like a game of chess.
If you ever played the actual tabletop game of this irl then you will enjoy this game. I also recall they had a version of this on the xbox 360 marketplace way back in the day. It's pleasant when you play with the right people, meant to be a chill game. Don't take it too seriously meeples.
This is a very nice rendition of the board game with the added bonus of the computer doing the final scoring - which was the pits for maths challenged players ( like me ).
beauty
If you're going to play against the AI, it doesn't take advantage of fields very much. You can really cheese out some victories by dropping down some meeple to snatch up a good 30-50 additional points that way, which more often than not ends up being the deciding factor in the game. (Much like in the real life board game.)
That said, I own multiple versions of this game, to include the IRL version. One thing that kind of irks me that this game doesn't do is allow for multiple base sets to be played for a longer game. Laying down a colossal amount of tiles for a long-play has always felt part and parcel with Carcassonne (especially IRL), and that experience is missing from this one.
Excellent playable adaptation of a wonderful board game.
Fun but needs graphics update and more content
Just like the real boardgame. Can be played with friends using remote play.
Tactically fun
Castles!!
Good casual game
great game!
very good
This is a lovely board game to play with your pals! It's Dorfromantik meets Catan. A very cozy tabletop game. Will easily go nonverbal and sink too many hours into this game!
played this back in the day on xbox (360 i think) and it was a cool little game.
this is not the version i played back then.
it's more like a jank mobile version here. ui looks like crap and it feels half-assed. controllers don't work etc etc.
why do pc games always keep getting progressively worse the longer i have them? companies need to stop with non-sensible updates that change the entire game and ruin the experience. i see it happen way too often. games i used to love back when change into amalgamations of crap that i won't touch now and it pisses me off.
Relaxing and a good adaptation from the board game. Worth the buy, particularly if on sale.
Is a digital version of Carcassonne board game. Has a few of the extra modules for the game. Runs well, and nice that I don't have to do math for scoring. Only complaint is a minor one. The game will occasionally hang (like once every so many games), but exiting out of the game back to the main menu and then going into the saved game fixes the issue. You don't have to close out of the client. (Maybe a bug with the AI?)
Can't play it. You get crazy by the camera movement and zoom. Where can I get my money back?
Please tell me tile distribution isn't rigged. It is WAY too coincidental how the AI always get the good ones at the right time (including the at the start of the game) and they seem to team up to screw you.
ace game
I've always loved Carcassonne and this is a good adaptation.
i’ve been invested in carcassonne ever since the xbox 360 game but i just don’t see myself ever learning how to actually play the board game.
since this exists, i don’t have to!
It's a great version of Carc.... but for some reason they hate money and stopped adding DLCs of all the expansions.
WHY.
A litle great little game for 20 - 30 minutes per game, playing solo against 2 computer AI players, real challenge, lots of variables and players choice to build, spread etc.
So much fun!
Fun with friends, infuriating against bots.
Get it with friends.
You can never go wrong with a casual game of Carcassonne!
Grew up playing this and one of my favourite board games
I have never actually played the tabletop version, but people I've played with say this is a pretty faithful rendition of the tabletop game. It is a fun, tile-laying game, a beer-and-pretzels game you can play on-line with friends (and thus not have to share your beer and pretzels). I haven't tried all the expansions, but The River and The Abbot change things up a bit and help to extend the basic appeal of the game. If you're looking for a game you can chew the fat with friends while playing, you could do worse than Carcassonne. I've been aware of this game for well over a decade and am still not precisely sure how to pronounce Carcassonne. Does it rhyme with corn pone, or does it rhyme with personae? Who knows? Not me.
