Slide is ridiculous, no hint button and no way to maybe leave some puzzles for later, so you get stuck.
I recently goy into the world of mah-jiong, and find this a delightful version with hour of gameplay.
I love the game itself, but it runs my computer way too hot. Do not recommend unless the VSync issue gets fixed.
A great variety of mahjong games with many levels. Any fan of the game will enjoy the challenges as you progress through each temple.
I like this game, but it crashes at times;this is normally fine, but this game blacks out one of my screens, and force quitting it won't work, which means I have to reboot my comp, which won't shut down for some reason - and then I have to force shut down my machine.never experienced that before in my life.also some of the game modes save the regular one are a bit meh.
Presentation is excellent. A lot of mahjong games tend to look very cheaply slapped together, but this one looks great and comes with a surprisingly great (if also very short and therefore repetitive) soundtrack. Gameplay-wise it's mahjong solitaire, and not "proper" mahjong. There are many different game modes and gimmicky special tiles to keep things interesting, but there strangely doesn't seem to be a way to just play regular mahjong solitaire without any level gimmicks. There are lots and lots of levels, and since they're semi-randomly generated they're generally very replayable even if you go through all of them. The game will at times generate impossible solitaire levels, where picking the right tiles comes down to luck more than strategy. Sometimes tall towers of tiles will also block other playable tiles due to the camera angle, meaning you can't click (or even see) some playable tiles.
Overall, it's a very enjoyable game and worth full price, but should perhaps be thought of moreso as a (somewhat flawed) mahjong-themed puzzle game than a proper digital mahjong solitaire.
This is the best Mahjong game on Steam, and it's free, with achievements.
Challenging and casual time killer.
I spend a lot of time playing legendary Mahjong. I can't get enough. It is fun and keeps me busy all day.
I like that it does not have a timer and let's you relax (i enjoy so much the music background!) and figure out how to solve your puzzles.
10/10
I only wish it were longer! The slider levels are my favorite, challenging. The graphics are good, sounds of tiles are satisfying. There isn't a storyline but it's a fun game to waste away the hours with.
I had been searching for a great mahjong solitaire game for years, literally. Little did I know that one of the best ones I would ever play was sitting comfortably in my game library. Legendary Mahjong is awesome. It's awesome in how it can be both extremely casual and extremely challenging at the same time. And I can't get enough of it! Curated by: Chudah's Corner
Legendary Mahjong has 6 different game modes to play through, each with their own unique set of rules. The first is your standard mahjong solitaire. Nothing really special there. But the "Belle of the Ball" is definitely Slide Mode. Now this mode is so damn fun that I wish it was a game all itself. I've read other reviewers struggling with it because it IS difficult, but all that is needed to clear these boards is a bit of strategy and patience. This mode has you sliding the tiles horizontally or vertically to match them; the catch is that the tiles won't stop unless they hit something, usually a wall or another tile. Many of these boards are set up in ways that risk you sliding tiles into pits trapping them there. Others have obstacles that make it difficult for the two tiles you're trying to match to meet up. But none of them are impossible. They simply take some thought. And that's what I love so much about this mode. I need more of it. MORE OF IT! You hear me?!?!

Okay, okay, now that I'm done gushing about Slide Mode, the other modes are pretty fun too. Triple Mode has you matching 3 tiles at a time instead of 2. Rivers Mode requires a line to be drawn between your matches (no more than 2 bends, though). This is my second favorite mode in the game for how casual and relaxing it is. Numbers Mode has you doing some simple arithmetic by matching numbered tiles that add up to a given sum. And Match Mode has you matching individual tiles to a set of 4 random ones. This is my least favorite mode simply because it's not very engaging. But you can't win'em all.
Now, my only real gripe is that there is a bug where sometimes the game will tell you there's a match on the board, but there's no actual match. This is easily remedied by shuffling (assuming you have enough points to), but it's still annoying. I noticed it happening most often in Match and Triple Mode, but it periodically happens in the other modes too. It's not the end of the world, just an annoyance I could do without. I've also seen other people complaining about a lack of Vsync, which may cause your GPU to overheat. I noticed that my card does run a bit hot while playing this, but nothing that risks frying it out. It's something to keep in mind if your graphics card tends to run on the hotter side, though.

Bottom line, for 7 bucks (or less, if you grab it on sale), you really can't go wrong with this gem. Not only do all the different game modes make this one of the most unique and enjoyable mahjong games I've ever played, the number of levels to work through is insane. You're likely to get upwards of 50 hours of playtime out of it if you're intent on clearing everything for that sweet sweet 100% achievement score. So, if you're a mahjong solitaire fan like I am, do yourself a favor and pick up this baby. I guarantee, you won't regret it.
desperately needs vsync but ok otherwise. negative for lack of vsync. it will fry your card if you don't limit it on your own.
It is ok as a Mahjong game. However, it lacks vsync and Steam cloud, and I think both are needed nowadays.
The Slide mode temple is impossible, which the devs knew since they conveniently removed the hint button in the one temple where players would actually use it.
Really fun game also its really long so that is a huge plus, Im going to be enjoying this game for a long time.
Like Mahjong? Me too. I've had a Love/Hate relationship with the game of Mahjong for years.
Legendary Mahjong has to be the absolute BEST Mahjong game I have ever played. All other Mahjong games pale in comparison.
The graphics are beautiful and clear. The sounds are amazing. Legendary Mahjong has taken the familiar traditional Mahjong game and has blended it with a delightful new twist that I found very refreshing.
If you're looking for a great Mahjong game, this is probably what you've been waiting for. A wonderful little gem for your gaming collection.
Great game, Dev's!
Happy Gaming Everyone
This game is really interesting, because there are several styles of play available. There isn't much of a story - basically, the god Kokopelli wants you to restore these 5 temples, which will win back the favor of all the other gods and stop the curse on your people. What that really translates to is going into each temple (some are unlocked at first, you find keys to them in the other temples) and playing through tons of levels. Each temple has a different style of play. For example, there is this one where you can slide the tiles around. It's a little hard to describe, but it can be really challenging!! I thought it was fun, though. I got sucked into this Regency Solitaire game, but once I beat that, I'll come back to this one and plow through all the levels. I think I'll probably end up having something like 30 hours of gameplay on this one. Totally worth $5.99.
Pro:
- Many levels.
- Customizable tiles and backgrounds.
- Relaxing music.
- Polished graphics.
- Optional tutorial and visual match aids.
- Fun special tiles.
- Different game modes + classic mode.
Con:
- Voice of blue god creature is kind of freaky.
