This game is pretty good won't lie I really love the gameplay but there are a couple little issues that kind of irritated me 1 I wish this games had a setting option to turn down the volume at times I've ears just kept getting blasted and irritated me to the point where I had to close the game and take a break for a few hours
second and probably the biggest gripe I have with this game is that they censored the nudity pretty upsetting
But other than those two issues I've had I've really enjoyed this game even though we can get a little tedious and grindy at times for the price I highly recommend it
Great fun game! Fairly simple gameplay, but easy mechanics and good humor.
>No audio adjustment options
>No screen size adjustment
>Clunky gameplay and controls ,then again it's RPG Maker
Welp, I wasted my money on this one, i played for over an hour and no sex scene or nudity of any kind, just some childish sex humor here and there that wasn't very good. The game is super long and boring rpg maker bull crap, i had both this game and its sequel on my wishlist for a long time and i finally bought the first one for the steam summer sale and this was just awful, i took the second game off my wishlist, im not going to get a refund because i want this review to go up to warn my horny coomer brothers not to waste your time or money on this crap, its someones first rpg maker game with the promise of adults only content that never happens, it literally tricks you into buying and playing the game under false pretenses. Just awful disappointing garbage here. Yuck.
I wanted to write a middling review of this, because on the onset, and from what I've played, this isn't that bad of a game. It's a standard dungeon crawler with anime girls. That said, here's my biggest problems with the game, as it stands right now. Obviously, if they change and fix any of these issues, I will update my review to reflect.
1.) You can't change the screen size. No full screen, no adjustment whatsoever. And, since I am playing this one on a smallish 14" laptop, that just won't do. The play area is just slightly larger than my Nintendo Switch screen... barely. Right smack in the middle of my laptop screen. That's tiny. And you cannot adjust it at all.
2.) You can't change the input. Gamepad? Nope. Mouse? Nope. Just keyboard. Simple, yes. And simple is really all that's needed for this game, if we're being honest, but still, gamepad support would have been nice.
3.) In fact, there's no settings to mess with at all! What if I wanted to turn the sound down? Well, I have to just adjust the volume on my computer... But what if I needed my main computer volume for alerts or something? You see where I'm going with this? This is basically just a browser game without the browser!
Literally only move upward, and character keep moving to left.
Don't say my keyboard is stuck, I've proved my keyboard is fine.
And where is the patch?
Just enjoy it.
A fun plot, cute waifus, and solid gameplay.
It might not be perfect, but the characters and gallery are great. A game worth of your time.
It was pretty fun and fun story and dialogue
As bare-bones as a RPG maker game can be.
I think the main problem with Girls and Dungeons its the fact that there is only one save point in the entire game, it is at the very entrance of the dungeon and you can't save your game anywhere else. So if you die in the dungeon you will get back at the entrance with all your progress lost.
Not to mention that the game lacks achievements or trading cards, also lacks controller and screenshot support, so if you're playing the game for the lewd, which is very scarse BTW, you only get like 6 pictures that you could easly miss in your first walkthough, you can't even same or screencap them, so pretty much there is no point in playing this over something like Melty's Quest.
If you for some reason feel you NEED to play Girls and Dungeons because you like the sprite art of the girls, pretty much this game's only saving grace, buy it on sale.
After using the R18 patch, Chinese disappeared and changed to English.
Can you solve it?
Patch problem.
Or add a DLC to buy
It should be just a small problem, there is no need to retranslate.
Personally I had a terrible experience playing this game. It has 1 save point at the start so anything you do to screw up or die will force you to a save all the way at the start of the dungeon either removing lots of progress or causing you to travel all the way to the location you were in again.
This is made worse by the fact that there's no sprinting in the game so you'll have to drag your feet the whole way. And with all this effort you get rewarded with a few still images of the girls, and YOU CAN'T EVEN SCREENSHOT. I pressed F12 and my entire game reset. So overall it ain't worth the trouble of grinding this game to get 6 measly photos.
On top of that, there are no achievements or trading cards to validate any effort you put in this game. This is a NOPE C 0 C K from me.

This is actually pretty damn good. It's better than most of the Hentai games at this price. And the art style for the pron scenes is very nice and a little different from the standard fare, the artist has a nice freindly feeling style, that really stands out from the crowd. There is also a nice metroid vania thing going on here, with a lot of fun little secrets and mechanics. This game is criminally under rated and deserves a much better review score.
The game is reasonably fun for an RPGmaker. You won't find the gameplay to be drastically mindblowing or the audio to be highly memorable but it all still works well. However where the game shines the most is with the humor.
Girls and dungeons is a turn based rpg with some action puzzle, it have great level design and awesome soundtrack
+awesome graphics
+amazing levels
+funny jokes
+great story
10/10
It is mostly entertaining, if a bit shallow.
But there is no option to save in the dungeon and no shortcuts.
Therefore you must walk the same dungeon road again and again and again and again .....
Additionally the final is real weak.
This was an enjoyable RPG Maker romp. It has some replayability as well, which is nice for those who want to see more of the content beyond the initial playthrough.
Custom graphics added a nice touch. I'm not usually too picky about that sort of thing because I understand all too well that not everybody out there is an artist or can afford to hire one to do all the art assets for their game either.
Personally, I look at custom art in an indie game (especially ones made in RPG Maker) and compare it to having frosting on a cake: it can make the cake taste even better, but it's not necessarily required to make the cake taste good on its own. In other words, custom art is appreciated, but not required, to make a good game in my opinion.
I think even if it had used the default RPG Maker assets, this game would have been enjoyable on its gameplay merits and design alone, so it's a nice bonus in my book.
The characters didn't have a ton of depth or anything, but you do get to know them a bit from chatting with them back in camp, and with this style of game it's clear that the focus was on the gameplay itself and light on story. There were some issues with the grammar at times, but usually not so bad as to be unable to follow along with the dialog.
The battle system was pretty solid and enjoyable. Music worked pretty well throughout the game too. The fishing part of the game was utilized well, I liked catching the bait, and I thought it would have been cool to see it used in more ways than it ended up being used for, especially with all the different kinds of creatures you could catch. There was some potential for interesting outcomes or different uses for those variety of catches that just didn't get expanded upon, but that's okay. I understand time constraints and having to cut potentially good ideas and features to keep the scope from blowing up.
My favorite area was definitely the water cavern, though it was one of the more confusing parts of the game too. There are certain times where I had to consult outside sources to understand what to do in the game, simply because it wasn't explained well or clearly, and that area was one of them. I'm not sure if it was intentionally done that way, or if it was assumed to be clear enough and just ended up not actually being obvious, but regardless I liked the puzzle in that area and the way it all worked. All the areas in the game had some creative aspects about their design that I liked.
Overall I think this is a pretty enjoyable little dungeon crawler.
Extremely worth it, and goes past its own price.
A simple but very enjoyable RPG. I'd say, if you'd like a cute adventure game that has a nice story, simple plot that works out so well (Meaning it's not all over the place) and you like picking girls up from dungeons, this is a game for you.
(+18 Patch is up for download, if you're at age)
I very much enjoy the art and the "plot" that this game has to offer at such a low price. I have only three problems with this game overall.
The first would be the subtle grammar errors on some parts (I don't remember where though). If you don't have a problem with that, then that's great.
The second would be the at the very end of the game where you are allowed to select up to 3 of the girls, I ran into a problem on one occassion where the game just went back to the part where two of the girls were in crystal form after I briefly went into the dungeon. Everyone else reverted to their dialogues when they were in that form. It probably was rare since it only happened once with me and my complusive saving saved the day.
The last one would be how slow the battles are. I prefer something a bit faster or something at least gives me the option to auto select my most recent turn so that I won't have to mash the same key/button on a very tanky enemy.
Other than those problems, it's a good game to play when you have nothing else to do for an entire weekend or school break. Also, there's "plot"!
Girls and Dungeons is an Rpg Maker format game that's at times quirky and enjoyable, and other times...less So.
Whilst the dialogue is fun, and there's some fan service in the game for people into that, the gameplay itself could use with some fine tuning. Character abilities are limited to a degree, and whilst the condition break mechanic is useful, the actual =how= of triggering them becomes increasingly esoteric knowledge. A fact which reduces most fights to chugging Wasabi Soda, having the main character use his 50 Sp stun ability, and the other characters spam inspire to win. And this -will- win the game for you.
Also, while there -is- technically a run option, I never actually found a fight I could run from.
Also, your other characters normal attacks are going to be pretty junky throughout the game, as they don't get weapon upgrades- limiting them to between 120-900 ish damage compared to the 15 k the lead character is doing. Really, his only downside is he can't generate SP on his own (Via drinking) like the female characters can, making much of his sp generation in a fight hinge on their actions.
Regardless, I've spent worse afternoons. I'm just unsure I would recommend this game to most people who aren't fans of quirky humour, and fan service, and are willing to sink 7 hours into the game.
To be fair, I have only played the game about 45 minutes. So far, I haven't really seen any "adult" content but everything works & I'm enjoying the story. Diffcultly is just the right balance. :)
Edit: Lorelay is now in party.
