Great game with very nice art. Get it if you like fast pace action with rogue lite elements
Very fun gameplay with lots of replay value.
Love this game, honestly this might be the best game at teaching you FPS mechanics and aim practice I've played. I honestly felt better at mouse aiming after having played this game for a few dozen hours and I'm not sure if it was aimbotting for me or if I was actually getting better.
Borderlands/comic book style works very well. The music is also great. Plot and characters are meh, but that's fine for a game like this. The rogue-lite elements work nearly perfectly and allow you to try out different builds, which adds a lot of replayability and fun to a game that you can do a full run in 30-40 minutes every time you pick it up.
Only criticisms are a lot of the upgrades are side-grades, which aren't as useful as they could be. The in between level screen could use an overlay of the World map to remind you what levels you may be able to leave to from this one. Lastly please make the datalogs a little easier to find or not needing a melee item (shovel) in order to get them would be wonderful.

Really fun, solid gunplay, progression can be a little slow but I played on hard mode.
This game is really freaking fun. One of the most just fun games I've played in awhile.
Really good gunplay, fun and fast movement, a satisfying game-loop with surprisingly varied builds and systems; definitely recommend this one. Haven't even got to try co-op yet - bet that's hella fun.
I'm playing it on the Deck; lock the FPS to 45 and you can play on High settings with smooth and consistent results.
Extremly fun gameplay and a lot of secrets to discover. The robots are also kinda hot. 10/10
Not into Rogue-lites but this one is pretty fun. Good weapon choices. Classes are fun. Fast Gameplay. Reminders me of a toned down Doom Eternal. Worth checking out.
Simple game with really good gameplay, especially after unlocking some gadgets that will allow moving around battle area really fast.
Even with me valuing gameplay the most, art style is what makes this review positive. Art style hides most rendering flaws rather well unlike realistic looking games. The main issue with this game is how locked down it is in terms of fixing what develeopers do not care about. Tweaking ini files does not work and why is this important?!
If we start with basics, fps limiter should be a slider or should allow us to type a number, so if 161 is where tearing stops on a 165Hz monitor, I want to use 161 cap, not 165. It is not like 165 exists as an option and that is exacly my point. If I need to use external tool to lock fps anyway, what is the point of having it in game options, especially if other important stuff is missing?!
If I want to disable depth of field, I need to use post processing on low (engine default configuration) and disable all other stuff with it because again, developers do not care about it. This is the same reason why TAA always completely destroys games image quality of games, They give us presets without actually configuring anything (takes like 5-10 minutes to find values for TAA with console in UE) instead of giving us control over it. Afterall, it is not like devs are gonna play their game and suffer with or without it (because rendering in modern games does not really work without TAA),
Great game. Great movement and skills. Great music and nice story. Highly recommend, really worth its money.
No pointless grinding to finish the game.
Fast paced ADHD sim game, criminally underrated soundtrack it is crazy how good it is combined with the underlying gameplay, tested the demo out and heard the main menu music and bought the game before playing it
great game but it is hard to unlock new content (the endless mode) may want to bring wrench cost
lot of fun please update :)
Very tight combat and steady progression. The wrench system is a bit fucked up with the gambling bot that you get at the start at one point, and I wish the later levels weren't balanced around the idea of you having every movement option. While not making the movement options linearly unlockable, many are a hassle to get. But good.
Really fun so far. I like the gun play and the various weapons and styles of play. I can see this game being a time sinker for sure and has multiple levels of difficulty for all players. So far so great. 9/10
What a bizarre game. Rocking and powerful synthwave OST. Gameplay as if the Old Gods such as Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament have returned. A cartoony aesthetic that gives us a gigachad robot with a super adorable face. A little girl that isn't sexualised in the slightest. Weapon selection that makes Borderlands blush. Oh, it's French? Yeah, sounds about right. These guys know their sh*t.
The trailer is actually pretty spot-on in showcasing the flow of the game. You jump, dodge, shoot, constantly pressing onwards; and Roboquest has a very tight way of enforcing an aggressive playstyle. Remember how in Brutal Doom/DOOM 2016 you had to do a melee finisher on an enemy to restore health? Here it's kinda like this, but the game is actually very kid-friendly and there's not much in the way of violent gore... can it be as good as DOOM in that regard?
Oh, maybe it's even better. Basically, killing enemies drops these little health orbs; they heal you more if you have fresh ("scratch") damage, and they also disappear relatively quickly - so if you were to camp-snipe the enemies from relative safety, there's a good chance most health pickups will be gone by the time you're there. Killing enemies in melee - either by using some classes' natural melee attack of with a special melee weapon (chainsaw/power fists/pan nunchaku...?) - makes enemies drop more of these valuable pickups. So, just like in DOOM, the only real way to heal when you're badly hurt is to throw yourself at enemies with reckless abandon and do your best to kill them before they kill you.
And yeah, they will kill you. After doing the tutorial, the game suggested I play on "hard" difficulty, and I found it just about right; although later on it becomes really tough unless you have a cohesive, synergic build. Luckily, as you progress you unlock more and more tools to fine-tune your build and weapon selection just right, with minimal (but still present) RNG interference.
That might not be such a bad thing, though. There's a lot of weapons and a lot of perks/upgrades, so it's in your best interest to try out new stuff and experiment - it's also fun! 6 character classes and 83 weapons plus a bunch of perks and trinkets that change the way you'll play. You can have a melee/short ranged build, a crit-based sniper build, a summoner/minion build, an elemental build (3 different elements to choose from), an auto-crit build, a firerate build, and that's just the most obvious natural choices. Exploring is fun!
Which is just as well, because there are little weird secrets all over the game. There's a story of sorts (which I liked), but you'll also find hidden areas and quests. Like in Dead Cells, you can choose which path are you going to take, and the levels differ in architecture, enemy selection, music, and even the flow of the level - some are just "get to the end", but there are also levels where you have to do this or that under a time constraint, which might or might not be possible to fight back against by killing enemies. Some levels are more open, some are essentially just corridors. Plenty of variety - and it's up to you to choose the path you like.
Unfortunately - or not? - this is hamstrung a little in multiplayer (playing with a Brobot), because unless a path is accessible to both you and your Brobot, you can't take it. And chances are you won't remember how you unlocked it... but hey, that just means more exploration. And it's not that complex, if you try different things you will eventually find all there is to find.
By the way - multiplayer is great! Works well, no friendly fire whatsoever, a streamlined pickup system, completely shared exp, and the difficulty bump feels completely natural. There is a matchmaking system, for the record - but I haven't tried it, just played with my "friend".
A final thing I'd like to mention is the weapons. I've been playing FPS games for a while, but never was too serious about it - so it's possible my knowledge here is incomplete, but holy hell, this game directly reuses weapons from other FPS games! And that's a GREAT thing. From the ones I've recognised, I saw a few from Overwatch - Cassidy's, Hanzo's, Genji's, Kiriko's, Orisa's javelin is a class ability... but there's also a bolter, something like Half Life 2's pulse rifle, and a FLAK CANNON from Unreal Tournament. Yes, including the secondary fire! Such a love letter to the genre. No, I don't consider this a ripoff, by the way.
Took me 28 hours to beat the game (on Hard). 38% of players have managed to do it, and that should tell you that perhaps the stellar reviews aren't a fluke. I was very pleasantly surprised by just how much of a banger Roboquest turned out to be.

The best fps roguelite i have ever played. The movement feels great, weapons are satisfying to use, and the soundtrack is awesome! It has some variety in the character classes, each with their own unique abilities and perks to use, and decent build variety too, of course, since it's a roguelite, you get currency to upgrade your character and make yourself more powerful.
The only thing i didn't enjoy much was the last level before the final boss , and the final boss fight, way way too many projectiles and enemies to deal with, but other than that, a fantastic game, 100% recommend if you are into fps and roguelite games.
This game has everything to be a great game, but I do not think it connects the pieces right.
It is only good for maybe a few plays after which it gets repetitive and boring.
The main problem I have with this game is the lack of payoff, lack of the power fantasy.
This game is a roguelite, so you would expect it to ensure that any loadout it can throw at you, you would be able to make work.
Since it is also a -lite, you would expect it to progressively get easier as you get more tools and bonuses by hitting various unlocks and milestones.
Instead, this game plays like a hard linear shooter that just has random weapons for some reason.
Let me explain what I mean by taking a game called "Risk of Rain 2" as an example.
Much like roboquest, RoR2 is a roguelite, but RoR2 embraces the chaotic nature of the roguelike game.
It gives you the tools, and it is not afraid to let you stack them to "dramatic proportions".
For example, you get items that boost your critical chance by 10%, and you sure as hell can get to 100%.
Or say an item that has a 15% to block all incoming damage - if you stack enough you can block up to 70% to become nigh-immortal.
Or kill almost every single enemy in a hit if you get the right setup.
It balances just right at "almost" game-breaking, but "not quite".
This makes it fun to explore, once you get your idea done you start to wonder just what else you might be able to pull, what the game will "let you get away with".
And the game plays into this wonder with roguelite elements - throwing more item types at you as you progress, more classes that allow different builds, or, if you do not like the RNG there is a special mode where you can make your "dream build" by removing all randomness altogether.
Roboquest, by contrast, does not embrace the randomness at all.
It felt like there is really just one approach you can take, and you can not avoid it because the levels are always the same - same dense corridors, same lack of distance, same elements in play.
The balance slowly but surely gets out of your favour.
The first few areas are manageable, but about half way in it just suddenly gets much harder and only gets harder.
The updates you get are very underwhelming, "25% bonus here", "30% bonus there", "some weak synergy with these skills" and so on.
All RNG ends up doing is just being a frustrating gimmick where you might not get good weapons for a long time, and once you do they basically do not change.
The game could have been easily done away with the roguelite for a more linear structure, and it would have been much better as a result.
It really is sad to leave a negative review, as it is evident that the developers cared about this game.
Visually, the game is really good, and there is charm injected into details if you want to look for them.
But sadly, the game just quickly loses all traction to become repetitive, boring and frustrating.
It could be worth a playthrough with a friend on sale, but that's about it.
A really spankin good time, good pace, great music, challenging, fun, all around good times.
Look yall, this game is SICK.
I wanted a light FPS I could just zone out and play. I didn't want to deal with multiplayer. I didn't want to deal with randos screaming at me via voice chat because I couldn't get to the objective. I wasn't after anything military similuationist. And then? I found this.
It's a roguelike. You are a robot. There's different classes; each play differently. You run through a series of levels with different robot enemies who attempt to shoot you. You shoot them first, hunt for cool bonus items, and slowly get more powerful as you accumulate wrenches.
Maybe for some folks this isn't "hardcore" enough. For me? I don't have time to grind hundreds of hours into a game. I'm a parent. I need something I can pick up and play for 10 to 30 minutes at a time and have a good time doing it. And that's *exactly* what this game offers. The different enemies are tactically interesting. The notions to explore are fun. The roguelike elements just sprinkled on top are just an extra topping and a little bit of variety.
It's fun. It's satisfying. The combat is exactly what I was itching for - the tactical challenge of different enemies. The adrenaline of ducking and juking and returning fire. The fun of finding a new secret. It's the perfect combination for someone who is busy like me and doesn't have time to sweat to "git gud" at the various "hardcore games" out there.
Really fun game, great mechanics, killer soundtrack.
Hats off to the devs for having the game start at 50% volume.
So many games destroy my ears on first start-up.
One of the greatest games ever made. Its the THPS of fps rougelikes.
It really needs more than 2 player co-op, other than that the game is just good
Shoutout to the crane
Good action rogue like, good for aim training. Fun gameplay loop, I really like that you can matchmake with ither brobots. I think the boss fights are alittle easy but other then that great game
Roboquest is an excellent example of early access done right.
This is a great roguelite shooter with really good replayability, fun and diverse classes, traits, and weapons to choose from.
This game is a real treat and if you enjoy roguelites you'll definitely find something to fall in love with here.
I am excited for the VR version of this game, VR is very desperately needing something like this
Just an absolute banger. Few games hook me like crack for an entire straight like 10 hours of forgetting to eat and drink water. One of the best roguelites there is, if you like roguelites and shooters then this is the easiest purchase of your life.
Some of the best feeling Gunplay / movement of any shooter I've played. Has fun journey trying to unlock all of the equipment that can be used or not used to help accelerate the efficiency of your fights. I feel difficulty ramps up fairly with each difficulty increase and you can play with a buddy! Only thing I wish we could have is a 4-player mode but I can see why it might be hard to do with a fast paced game like this
Awesome game one of my favorite games to play, and the best roguelike I have ever played. Definitely reccomend, super replayable and so much fun to explore new locations and characters. 75% of the way there to 100% it! Wish me luck.
If you love Returnal (and you should!), you'll love RoboQuest too. It's not quite the 10/10 masterpiece that Returnal is, but it's still fantastic and different enough to fully enjoy. RoboQuest has more variety of weapons and power-ups too, so each run is more distinctive.
This game is perrty fun, somtimes confusing i like playing with my mates
Super fun. Bright colors, great soundtrack, fast paced gameplay, fun double jumps, cool perks and weapons, all around a solid game. Very happy with my purchase.
Please add more player slots for multiplayer so we can have more friends join us!
Loved the game so far, finished it multiple times and it is so fun. However. In the Mode "ENDLESS", it is a bit too shitty, they're not letting us upgrade our brobot freely, giving us 3-4 MAIN perk limits, then it is all repetitive.. my recommendation is that you dont play Endless, or play and also know what it is
Slaps. Very good co-op. Feels a bit rough early on but you get better quickly and it feel super satisfying towards the end
Fewer hours total than other "infinitely replayably" roguelikes but the highs are very high.
Crispy gunplay, smooth movement, banger soundtrack, and vibrant artstyle makes this game hard to put down.
The game has plenty of secrets and branching paths that allow for each play through to be different. There's also multiple different classes and a good variety of weapons to fill different playstyles.
Great art style, great optimization, great gameplay, great everything all around, 9/10 solidly made game. Also difficult!
I wish it was a little deeper and had more content, and I hate how a lot of the buffs you can get are always at the expense of RNG getting hurt. I think it's a little lazy game design on those mechanics. Otherwise, a lot of the gun combos are pretty fun and interesting.
Buy on sale and you'll have a great steal.
This has been one of my favorite games in a very long time. The game play is super smooth & the co-op is amazing. My friend and I have only played on Hard & it is challenging but a lot of fun!
The devs should totally make more games based off this & have up to 4 player co-op would be incredible!
I've been absolutely addicted to this game. The gameplay is so smooth and fun; the soundtrack is incredible; the art style looks wonderful; and all of the gameplay elements are so fun to mess around with. My only gripe is that the story is meh, but that doesn't even come close to prohibiting my enjoyment of the game. If you like roguelikes- no, if you like videogames, this one is for you.
Roboquest is like coming home.
And then taking Grandma's shotgun to the Roomba.
pretty much just endless doom game also the best rouge-lite fps
Really enjoyable Rougelite, Movement flows well into the action and full of secrets that will make you feel smart... and sometimes dumb. Really charming artstyle and animations. If you are a fan of gunfire reborn, this is the next game you should buy.
Apex Legends like movements + Rougelite mechanics + Amazing gunplay + hidden secrets = Roboquest. A must play indeed!
Fun shooting! Shoot shoot pew pew. Good for 15-20 min game breaks. Sometimes longer sessions. All the different guns feel unique and interesting to play.
Fun fast gameplay, as someone with 3 kids it is nice to be able to pause a game and help with childcare and do something without having to dump 15+ hours into before I can really consume any good content.
this game is my crack. PLEASE add more content <3
anyway, to be a useful reviewer..uhh.. the gameplay is absolutely smooth and fast, rewarding, interesting, and they make you work for the lore instead of hand feeding it to you which is awesome as well. basically, one of the best roguelites. i may need rehab soon
Addicting, quite a good challenge and scratches the titanfall itch a bit.
Very fun rogue like game great abilities and technical aspects to the game 10/10 would give it a shot
Initially played on Game Pass, decided to "own" the game here. Love the run style gameplay. Great feeling guns. Awesome music and flow to the game. Very addictive. Will be spending more time on this for sure.
It's very fast. Some rooms have you pitted against dozens of bots shooting at you from all angles with little to no cover. You stop moving for one second and your health gets chomped. It wasn't a relaxing game for me but I very much enjoyed it. Took me around 20 hours for my first clear and there is some replayability. Try the demo first!
