This will forever be one of my favorite games of all time, and the way it has been remastered makes it even better. If you enjoyed RCT (or really any tycoon-type game back in the day), go ahead and give this a try. 10/10.
Greatest of all time. The isometric graphics are a pleasure. No park sim comes close to the simplicity and enjoyment of this classic.
Nostalgic and so much fun. It's a bit janky and clumsy nowadays but still just as addictive.
I'm having a hard time with this version being not nearly close to the original. Can i get an original just as the CD rom was?
the hub is weird and I can't control the park admission fee. the way they make me do paths (which is big) is so counter-intuitive. thanks

Classic game which light and quite challenging to be solved. Play it since more than 15 years ago and still hooked me.

Pure, euphoric nostalgia.
The game plays like the original. The complete pack of RCT1 and RCT2 with just minor and hardly noticable changes.
I personally do not mind the new UI. It is different, but after the first map you get used to it.
Everything works as you remember it. No QoL changes like the Mods have. But even the good old tricks still work and nothing has been really touched.
It is a modern port of the games. Just a port. And it doesn't need to be more.
Ahhh this game brings me right back to my childhood. So much nostalgia. It is still as good as I remember when I played it as a kid :)
relaxing old game
I heard a lot of criticism about this compared to the original or deluxe but I'm very happy with this purchase. It's the same RCT I remember but with some improvements to the interface, graphics, easier to build, a lot of things. The only small gripe I have is you cannot change the park entrance fee but in all reality entrance to the parks should be free anyway especially if you want to be able to beat the campaign easier.

It is a classic game with smooth game play and interesting maps. For a 20+ year old game it has held up remarkably well.
Rollercoaster Happiness in the form of Rollercoaster Tycoon
RCT: Deluxe stopped working on my system, so I switched to this. Scratches the itch with some new challenges thrown in.
It's the first game with UI upgrades & cloud saves, but also you can't charge a park admission fee..

It's a half-baked shitty reboot of the original RCT, with awful new-age graphics and an awful all-around feel.
If you really want to play the original RCT I recommend just pirating it.
When I was a kid, I'd do the obvious stupid stuff of making a coaster car fly off an open coaster into the other park, killing the guests, to drop that park's rating. As an adult, I'm enjoying the nostalgia. And will probably kill some guests.
Nostalgic with modern UI.
Had to manually "repair" microsoft visual c++ redistributable 2012 from the program list on my win10 PC, and had to run the application in Compatablitiy mode (WinXP service pack 3) before the game would launch tho. Other than the inital hickup i havent had a problem yet.
Classic fun game! Obviously it has its shortcoming but overall game rips. Would recommend to anyone trying out sim builders. Pretty easy, not too hard. Maybe need to look up a few things, but overall game is right in front of you.
This game is a childhood favorite and I've sank maybe hundreds of hours into the original. In this version they made drastic changes to the UI (I only found out reading some of the negative reviews *why* - because this game is apparently a straight mobile port) and it just makes it very frustrating to play. Why not just put the original PC versions on Steam instead of a vastly inferior port of a mobile game?

Rollercoaster Tycoon is an awesome classic. Highly addictive gameplay building your park. You can sink hours and hours into this game!
This is my "comfort game". Even after YEARS of play, it can surprise me. It's just fun.
Opened, saw new UI, closed the game.
I tried coming back a few months later to "give it a chance" but the game lacks basic quality of life options and doesn't remain faithful to the original vision of the game.
Just get OpenRCT2.

It was a great idea to combine both games, but Atari has failed with the upkeep and failed to implement quality of life improvements.
-No Apple Silicon Support: Consider support on macOS false advertising as most Mac owners are now on M series chipsets.
-No Cloud Saves: Yes there is cloud saves for completing scenarios but your parks do not backup.
Atari has failed to keep the mobile versions up-to-date as well. RCTC on the iPad does not support the aspect ratio of iPads without the home button. RCTC on the iPhone does not consider that there's a dynamic island on the left side of your screen.
And what does Atari do in 2024, contract a different developer to put RCTC on the Switch. No love for the other platforms!

I'm in the middle, but leaning towards negative to balance out the current reviews a bit.
Not bad, but very mediocre user interface considering this is meant to be a remaster. There's no resolution options, no UI/font scaling options, so I find myself having to lean in/squint at the monitor. This was also a problem with the original version of the game, but that gets a pass, being over 25 years old. This feels like a really sloppy half-assed remaster, that is technically a bit better than the original, and more compatible with modern PCs, but only just by a bit. Things like OpenRCT2 do a better job.
The scroll-wheel is horribly slow in the menus so you have a click and drag, which is pretty weird for PC. The game itself is the same old game, which is good, but this particular remaster isn't anything special compared to the original game, other than running at native resolution and having some slight improvements here and there. Reason I chose negative is because it's disappointing that there wasn't much care put into modernising the UI and adding useful options like UI scaling.

i havn't played thisgame in a very long time and I Love it
Lots of fun and very similar to the old RCT with some great quality of life features. The only issues I have is that you can't change the park entry fee and it's always free, and that every time I quit the game, I have to go into my computer settings and turn HDR off and back on again because it makes the screen very dark until I do so.
