fun time make me think about the old flash day
I really wish there was a "meh" rating. This game deserves it. It's not bad, but there's not much draw either.
cool game
Very fun game, brings back memories to the flash version 10/10
Quite possibly one of my favourite games, primarily because of the training minigames. Feels like the golden age of flash games, but made modern.
The main gameplay loop of training minigames -> get stronger -> do combat to progress -> unlock new things -> train more etc., feels rewarding to play. The combat is simple enough, but with quite a bit of depth to it. The unlocks and collections keep you engaged.
But my favourite part, by far, is the training minigames. It's hard to describe, but for me, they're almost zen-like, I feel relaxed while playing them - something I rarely ever feel with games nowadays. The fact that you have a 'progression' to the minigames is also amazing: as you earn stats by playing the games, you rank up the games, unlocking new quests/challenges, but also making the minigames more complex and difficult. This slowly eases you into the more difficult versions of the game, while keeping you engaged.
Spectacular game, absolutely love it!
My only gripe is that the game doesn't have cloud saves... As much as I do love doing multiple playthroughs of this game, cloud saves would have been amazing.
fun game i like grindy yet action games but for anybody who doesn't like to grind with difficulty this is not your choice of game to fully complete for people who do like it have fun getting everything on soulmaster with the badges it is alot of grinding and pure skill
It's good, mostly on fighting and training.
nothing much to add in here.
could still be better though
apple apple star apple apple apple apple star star star apple apple 11/10
Muito divertido, me lembrou do swords and sandals que jogava online antigamente. Gameplay simples e que funciona. História básica e curta. Perfeito para pegar em sale!
Not too bad, an old game from the flash game era, still almost exactly the same. However, is it good enough for me to chase all the achievements? Probably not. Is it good enough for me to complete the base game? Yes.
It's not terrible, but it's not 'good' either.
It manages to be consistently annoying
- characters YELLING
- things flashing, things glowing... it's jarring on purpose to try steal your attention
- there's no "windowed" option in a semi-idle game. If you alt-tab, it PAUSES >.>
The training minigame sounds cause anxiety (ever-increasing pitch)
There's apparently no good "assign all points", so you have to mash mouseclick, which is bad for RSI
It feels like I'm fighting the game more than I am playing it.
Finally, giving feedback is awkward.
There's no discord.

Fantastic experience. Played the original flash game and found out there was an actual sequel, and man the glowup is real. Charming art and writing, solid gameplay loop, and just enough variety to try out different strategies.
Most of the gameplay is going to come from training stats, and while the minigames are fun and get more involved as you progress, it gets a little tedious compared to how much actual combat you do. Because of how exponential growth works, the early stages are going to be a lot more "get bigger number to win" than actual combat strategy, which is a shame because it discourages using different weapon types and abilities early on. At least in the late game, strategy becomes more viable over just grinding stats.
Really nostalgic to play, many memories from the first game and I can't wait to play the collection yall have announced for this year :)
Heheheh funny flash game but better.
Really fun
Minigames can start to get a bit Repetitive but besides that its fun and a good time waste
You're as beautiful as the day i lost you..
might be one of my favorite games so far. hella recommend it if you've like swords and souls the flash game.
story is decent, the grind is addicting but some the achievement's are ridiculously hard to get
its fun
I grew up on the Flash version, and to see this game grow into so much more is spectacular
3/5, was pretty fun in the beginning but if you are a completionist be ready to tighten that ass and do some mindless grind to get that sweet 100%
yip
I really would give this like a "Meh" option if I could, but as someone who bought it because positive review rate, to me it's DEFINITELY not a 90%+ positive review rate kind of game, and definitely not worth $15. I got my time with it (honestly shocked I played this game for as long as I did, probably a lot of away time), but a lot of the time was, well, time I wish I could get back. I guess it was a good "mindless, at-work" game for me, but I never see myself coming back.
If you like minigames, grinding the same thing over and over, and number go up, it'll probably be like a 6/10 or 7/10. Otherwise 3/10.
Positives:
-Stat Growth. This was the pretty much the whole reason I stuck with the game. I LOVE a good "number go up" type of game, idlers being amazing for me. And honestly, the idea of minigames with achievements giving the stats instead of just EXP from combat is a solid, innovative idea that drove the game.
In-Combat Abilities. I honestly really loved this, as you can stagger abilities with attacks of different kinds to make some really good, long turns like you might feel in a really good round of a card game. There's also a good bit of strategy in it, which is a very good addition in a game like this. Dodging/Blocking is also somewhat fun.
Neutral:
-Game Length. This game could probably be half as long and still be fine. For the price I think it's a bit much, but that speaks more to the game quality than the game length.
-Graphics. They exist. Looks like a flash game. Stylized barely enough to not be a negative.
-Sound. It also exists. Sounds like a flash game. Good enough to barely not be a negative.
-Equipment/Town. I mean, it's good that it is there. It felt pretty bare-bones, so it fits the category of "I'm glad it is here, but it sure is barely there." Upgrading the town was probably the best part, but not enough to make it a positive.
-Pets. They're fun, but again super bare-bones.
Negatives:
-Minigames. While I really like the IDEA of the minigames growing your stats, some of these minigames are absolutely abysmal to play (Melee and magic make me want gouge out my eyes). They also really don't change, so get ready to do the same minigame for hours. They're all passable, but the simplicity versus the time spent doing it is a bit insane, especially when the challenge reward boosts run out.
-Writing. I get I'm probably not the target demographic for the game, that it used to be a flash game of some kind, and so on, but even taking all of that into account, saying the game's humor is "quirky" is generous. It REEKS of the cringiest things about the 2000s, with "loud is funny," "I'm mean to the protagonist because funny," "violence because funny," and so on. Kind of just wish there wasn't any dialogue.
-Story. It's basically the writing point all over again. The story is...there. It will get you from point A to point B. So would some dots on the map to show you where to go.
-Fishing. It's just utterly pointless. Obligatory "game with fishing minigame" moment.
grindy
I've been playing this game non-stop for 3 days and I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN IN ANY OTHER GAME. please if you have the time, play the game. its the perfect level of farming, rng, and enjoyment, with great chracters interactions and HILARIOUS dialouge. I feel like, just like me, if you do read the dialouge and follow the storyline, you'll come to love the characters ESPACIALLY the 3 mercenaries. I basically spent all spring break playing this game and procastinating my homework, but it was SOOO worth it. PLEASE PLAY HIGHLY RECCOMEND.
fire game
Shoot the Same Coin 30 Times, was probably the most Difficult Achievement i've ever Done on Steam...
I Persevere and no obstacle is too great... Within Myself i have found my inner-peace, and anger is Gone.
The game's climax involves beating a child until they cry
good
nice
Nice game pretty fun grinding and i haven't got this achievement yet but i just imagine your character beating the final boss in the base gear.
Flashback to the old school flash games.
good
Swords and Souls: Neverseen – A Grind Lover’s Fever Dream
Ever dream of spending 20 hours whacking training dummies and fighting increasingly unhinged enemies? Congrats, you’ve found your game.
Level up? Great—so did the enemies. It’s like climbing an escalator going down. Training is half the game, and somehow, it’s addictively fun. Spam-click dummies, dodge like a caffeinated ninja, and pray your stats keep up.
And the achievements? Designed by a supervillain. "100% completion?" Haha. Hope you like suffering.
But hey, at least the game’s hilarious. Quirky dialogue, absurd enemies, and a museum dedicated to your badassery? Swords and Souls: Neverseen makes the grind worth it.
Final Verdict: 9/10 training dummies destroyed, would grind again.
I used to play this when I was young. It is one of the greatest web game I have played so far. This version is truly bringing back those old day. The player plays mini game as a form of training to improve basic stat, gain more skill and employing that in real battle. The story surprised me the most. I never read those thing before when it was a web game. It's absurdity and childishness make me lower my guard until I faced the BOSS myself. It's a beautiful journey, Thanks you for bringing it back
if you grew up playing flash games you will love this
incredible game from some of the greats of the flash era
Fun little singleplayer game.
Got it for 7 dollars, for that price it's very much worth it
Not really that hard
Amazing RPG. Fantastic art and funny dialogue. Actually moving story?!? .
I hate the minigames needed for training. Well.. all but one of them. So I was melee all the way. I got to a point where I hit a wall, xp was slow, training was annoying, story progress was near impossible. So I gave up on that entirely and became a fisherman.
I spent my days in the fishing pond, selling my fish, investing in the museum, building my house, and buying all the books I could find. I only made story progress whenever I had mercenaries.
10/10 would skip the main game again.
Does not have any controller support despite claiming full controller support on store page.
Fun game until you try to get all achievements ;)
It's a fun game overall but if you're an achievement hunter, you might be quite frustrated with this game. For the "true soul master" achievement that only 4.4% of players have completed, you have to reach a 300 combo score in the agility training minigame. In this minigame, you have to dodge the Pupset attacks which become increasingly faster as you reach higher combo levels. This minigame has some issues:
1. It presents itself as a rhythm game but it's not. The Pupset rolls around randomly (I've seen him roll 6 times before an attack once) and does random spinning attacks where he winds up his staff for as long as 5 seconds or as short as half a second. These overcomplicating mechanics exist for the sole reason of confusing and throwing the player off their rhythm. In other words, it's game difficulty done poorly.
2. The Pupset attacks are insufficiently telegraphed for their speed at higher combo scores. Once you reach 150-200 combo score, the most common mistake you will make is confusing the overhead bash attack with the middle stab attack. It's not you, it's the game.
3. The timing for the perfect dodge is too strict and doesn't make sense visually. The dodge resulting in no star, star, or hit is so close it seems like complete luck sometimes.
4. The 300 combo score for the soul master medal is too high for the difficulty of the minigame. A 250 score would be more fair and in line with other training minigames.
I will use this review as a tip on how to achieve 300 combo score and save yourself hours of frustration if you decide to go for it. When you reach around 150 combo score, start pausing the game before the Pupset attacks. The Pupset will conveniently stay in the background of the pause menu telegraphing his next attack. Unpause the game, dodge the attack, rinse and repeat. If you have a gaming mouse, you can bind the ESC key to one of your mouse buttons. Congratulations, you have beaten a poorly designed minigame and can now 100% the game.
The older browser game I loved as a child so when i saw this i had to buy and play it.
Does a good job of being it's own game while still keeping the vibe of the original flash game that I grew up with
Quite a fun little pass time, a game that doesn't take itself seriously, some of the training mini games can be a bit difficult for certain people, so I would recommend watching a video or two about those before getting it, but it's well worth it on a sale.
ahhh childhood memories
nostalgia hit me like a train
10/10 game best flash game ever
The essence of a flash game brought up to the level of a full release pc game title.
Very Nostalgic game loved it and would recommend to anyone who has played sword and souls as a kid.
a really fun game, too bad that its only good the first playthrough. ive always abandoned my newer playthroughs since it wasnt as fun as the first time.
