Inescapable VR: Underground is the first entry in a series of made-for-VR escape room games to be released on Steam. In it you'll find puzzles ranging from relatively simple to quite complex, with clues both transparent and cleverly obfuscated. We've endeavored to keep objects true to their real world counterparts and to give the player the tools they need to interact with the virtual world as comfortably and intuitively as possible.
Inescapable VR: Underground was made to mimic the feel and pace of real life escape rooms as closely as possible. The puzzles are not designed to be simple matters where you have to follow very basic instructions or complete overly obvious tasks. Each puzzle in the game has multiple parts to it, with some requiring the combination of various objects to find the final solution. A challenge awaits.
The game is designed around roomscale VR on the Vive and features both teleportation and sliding locomotion options which can be swapped on the fly with a simple button press.

If it's Inescapable (unescapable?) why am I trying to escape? This game is a reasonably well intentioned escape room, albeit with fairly drab visuals and that aweful VR darkness. The price is right though, good on ya.

Took a little while to get use to the movement controls, but once I figured out how sliding mode worked I was able to scoot around and solve all the puzzles. The puzzles were mostly simple, but 1 or 2 might be challenging to people who don't play room escape games or puzzle games often.
This is a nice little escape room. It's one of the more difficult ones, but that could be just the way my brain works. It doesn't hold your hand at all and it requires you to pay attention to the details. I did have to look up a hint that the developer had left an a discussion thread, but I really don't think I'd have got there without it. graphically it's nothing special but it does what you need. The interactions are a little wonky but you get the hang of the physics pretty quickly. Overall, a good addition if you like these kinds of experience.

I finished it on the 1st try with 2 minutes to spare, and just because my wife that watched for a few seconds pointed something i hadnt notice at all.
This could probably be the hardest escape the room game ive played... but the time limit seemed perfect for a very very tense game, or at least a couple of playthroughs.
Once i figured out, it didnt seem so hard, if that makes any sense, but figuring out the first time gave me a really cool sense of satisfaction every Escape the Room game should aim to deliver.
Puzzles have VERY different degrees of difficulty, from finding something, to putting things together from 2 different clues that could seem not related, or random clues that are more than they seem.
It gave me at least a couple of "frustrating" moments where i thought "what if X and Y and Z mean this other thing and are the solution to this puzzle_" and BAM it was actually how it was meant to be solved.
There arent so many puzzles really, but while clues to solving every puzzle are out in the open, they are easy to miss, so you need to put attention on your surroundings and piece things together out of very faint help.
Offers teleporting and sliding movement "following the controller".
I didnt enconter any bugs that made me thing something was wrong with the game and that why i couldnt advance, but the grabbing things and using them are not as intuitive as id like, still, perfectly playeable and it works fine.
Good performance, and excellent price for the length! even more if you need more than 1 playthrough to finish it.
Recommended if you like Escape the Room games, probably not the one id recommend to a 1st timer of the genre.
In a sea of horrible escape room VR games, this one isn't half bad. Puzzles were better than average. Controls worked for the most part (opening and closing things was a little off). Basic Inventory system is a plus. Sounds fit. The end was a little anticlimactic, but I do recommend this for $5 or under.
Fantastic escape room game. Well worth the money. I would highly recommend. Controls weren't perfect on the Oculus Rift S, but it worked well enough and it was a great experience. Very challenging but not impossible.

This Review Would Be Neutral If There Was An Option To Do So
The fake spooky element, wonky/buggy controls and difficulty (Or lack there of) of this experience make me iffy about recommending it. However others seem to think it's a tad difficult, and it's fairly cheap, I'd say if it's on sale for $0.99, might as well pick it up. But personally I didn't think it was that great of an escape room.

Simple but fun escape room. Puzzles are well thought out and lead well into each other. The game took about 45-50 minutes to complete well worth the $1.00 I spent getting the game on sale. Does work with Oculus Rift despite not saying so on the store page however the controller bindings are clearly designed the Vive touchpads and the in game hand models are at a slightly odd again using the Rift Touch controls.

Just finished the game with my family for the first time, and I can say - it was definitely worth it! Although the mission involving the map took us over 2 hours, overall difficulty was nice: not too hard nor too easy.
We had only one problem during this three-hour experience: On the second try, while opening the locked door to the map room, our left hand got stuck to the door for the rest of the game. It couldn't be removed from the lock, and when pressing the touch pad, the key it was holding spun really fast, like using the screwdriver. That resulted to us playing rest of that try one handed.
Otherwise, the game was very clean and definitely worth the low price. It's a must have if you happen to own VR headset and are into escape room styled games!
A good and enjoyable escape game, and one for which I failed to beat the clock the first time round, finally clicking to what the clues meant during my second attempt.
A minor bug report - I actually opened the vents using the tin cans (the vents just fly open if you hit them a few times with a can).. not sure if this is intention or not. I didn't have the correct tool to open the vents at the time, due to misreading that clue.

This is a very good escape-the-room VR game. BUT be warned...the last puzzle is REALLY tough. We almost had to watch others on YouTube to find the solution. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

Guys, for 5 bucks, get this game. It was great. It had me freaked out the entire time. The puzzles were tricky, especially that last one... But to me it was well worth the money. I'm legitmatley looking forward for more games in the future.
Side note, as a CS Digital Arts Major, I'm always happy to try something for someone starting out. Thank you for the game.

A fun escape the room game. Very much like a 'real world' escape the room. Takes about an hour, and I got enjoyably stuck a couple of times. Good fun!
A nice, well polished Escape Room game. Challenging, but I'd recommend it.
You have an hour to escape, as is common in real life Escape Room experiences.
I've played it through once and didn't manage to escape. Was doing fairly well for about 30 mins. Not too difficult, not too easy, but then I got to a stage where I got an object that I couldn't figure out what it was or what its use was and a map that I'm sure did something but I couldn't work it out exactly.
I probably needed a second person there to help me out! Spent the last 15 mins at a bit of a loss, but definitely going to give it another shot.
I think there's only one room in this game, so keep in mind, as with any Escape room style game, it's going to have limited replayability. If you complete it first time around that's 1 hour gameplay for your money. However, this is definitely one of the better VR escape room games I've tried so far, and seems to be a nice challenge. We'll see how I get on second time around!
Wife played first and ran out of time. I played second, and blasted through what she did, and completed it. Just the right amount of difficulty I found. Good job, Great game
I enjoy puzzle games but this one has puzzles with no instructions. Literally the first thing to turn on the power is nothing but randomly inserting fuzes until you happen on the right combination. A number of the later triggers it doesn't explain or tell you how they correlate, so you're left randomly pressing buttons and hoping to find a lucky combination. I don't recommend unless you just like punishing yourself with random clues to unknown puzzles.
