Soooo...
Great Sim, I absolutely recommend it for beginners to get a feel of how a drone handles.
BUT, I'd recommend sims like Velocidrone, Liftoff or Flowstate for a more natural experience.
DRL isn't great at simulating highly realistic flights.
Still, absolutely recommend it for beginners looking to get into FPV.
cool physics, amazing graphic, very nice
good
Very good for beginners.
Great place to learn the basics of flying drones.
One of the best for beginners/tutorial, after around a week or 2 id switch tho to a payed one
good sim for beginners. Id recommend using a real radio first though.
Excellent tutorials!
new pilot here so can't speak for the physic aspect. but definitely feels like it can give you the basics for no crashing a drone once you get to the real thing. game was purchased specifically for learning to fly. will be getting liftoff game once i feel comfortable with this game and after that move on to real thing.
i cant even start it.... ive tried verifying game files, disabling steam input, running as admin, and restarting my computer. NOTHING just crashes after the initial black screen pops up. I have a i7-9th gen and nvidia 1060ti laptop.
YIPPEEEE!!! its pretty good
I have been playing the training missions. I went from not ever flying a freestyle drone to semi-acro in just 49 hrs of playing time. Hopefully, by the time I reach 100 hrs, I will be in full acro mode flying. This is a great trainer. I haven't participated in a race yet, but once my confidence is up, I will. Great game.
its cool
Would benefit from some sort of an AI real-time tutor, whether that be a VISUAL (ie like on-screen suggestions put up on screen at the bottom for how your flying would improve, whatever), or an AUDIO-based in-ear coach for the same).
OTHERWISE a top game
I'm new to FPV drones and decided to get this for sim practice before getting a drone. While I liked the tutorial/onboarding and the general map design, I am simply shocked by how atrocious every other aspect of this game is.
It is super slow just to use. Want to restart? Wait 5 seconds. Want to reset a checkpoint? Wait 5 seconds. Finished a race? Wait an entire 15 seconds before you can jump back in to either a new map or even just restarting. Why? Who knows, the UI just loads so slowly. My biggest gripe is with not being able to reset to a checkpoint unless you crash your drone - I am new and I just want to redo the same situation over and over again until I get it. And then, on top of that, the checkpoint starts are fixed rather than a continuation of how you were before you got there. On top of that, you can't race vs (any difficulty) AI unless you're in the circuit mode (with fixed maps). I can't view the replays of other people on the leaderboard to learn. There are only 5 ghosts that only pull from the top 5/50 with no elo system/spread system to get an idea of where you are. I can't even see stats between checkpoints compared to other people (like how did I do at every point in the race), 0 stats about your drone and how it flies over the course of the race. As a racing game with 0 stats apart from lap time, it's so barebones that I am kind of surprised that this isn't a beta. Plus, a lot of these are low-hanging fruit and it feels like the devs just don't care about the complaints from the years this game has been out.
These are basic things any competitive game should have. I wish I had bought another simulator and hadn't wasted my money. I'll prob stick with this until I get more flying confidence because the skill building system isn't bad but there is no other reason to play this game unless you're interested in DRL specific stuff. No progressional challenges, no stats, it's a shame this is called a racing game.
good training
this game is exactly like real life
maps way to small
.
great
very entertaiing and challenging
the case managers were knoedgable
ye
I'm a new at flying real physical FPV drone pilot. This game saved me a lot of money ;-) , by teaching me to fly thus keeping from crashing.
GOOD
great learning program
Sooooooo goooood, no you don't understand (well maybe It's my obsession with drones), it runs on my horrible work laptop at solid frames, for what you pay it's worth it, it has a very good training programme and has allowed me to fly full acro. Definitely recommend.
To learn how to fly a drone and become a trained pilot, this is the best software. it has some minor bugs like the guideline sometimes is not there. Some of the training modules are annoying, but overall is the best since it has a structured training, very effective for skill building. Some hard work is required too.
good teaching
Perfect way to get into training how to fly a quad with a radio. Nice pacing and plenty to do.
Great simulator for beginners!
I FLY FAST BETTER NOW
thank you so much for this game
very bad
After spending Close to 40 hours in the game/ Flight time I can confidently say DRL Racing Sim is one of the best FPV drone simulators out there.
✅ What Makes It Great:
- Realistic Physics – The game nails aerodynamics, momentum, and gravity. If you’re coming from real-world FPV, you’ll appreciate how natural it feels.
- Prop Wash Simulation – Unlike some other sims, DRL takes prop wash into account, so sloppy throttle control will punish you—just like in real life.
- Customizable PIDs & Rates – If you like tweaking Betaflight settings, you’ll love the depth of tuning available.
- Realistic Environments & Tracks – The maps are actual DRL race courses, meaning you can practice on real-world tracks.
- Battery Drain & Voltage Sag – Just like in real FPV, you’ll feel the power drop as your battery drains.
❌ What Could Be Better:
- Invitation spam is relentless, even after hitting 90min snooze.
- Bugs like phasing under the map or through objects happen occasionally.
- Global chat doesn’t work properly (or at all), making online play feel dead at times.
- There's a Lack of Updates: The most recent significant update was version 4.1, released on May 18, 2023
i have really improved using fpv drones and i have had enough confidence to fly a real one it is such a good simulator and you can even race competitively i really do recommend
A great way to learn the basics of flying fpv before getting a real drone.
Great training camp for noobs like me.
Absolutelt love. Great fro beginners as well
Just beginning FPV but this is a great way to start! Be sure to have a receiver to control it with.
Buggy game. The completion stars is not accurate, I can go as fast as I can but still not achieve 5 stars. Got up to the last training mission for intermediate/pro and it's literally impossible to fly any faster and beat top dog Tony. Really frustrating and created by people that clearly don't know how to make a game & update it to fix it's issues.
The game is good for putting in flight hours to maximize your drone skills
I like their progression system. If you are a beginner pilot get this and work tutorials before Liftoff, TRYP or Uncrashed. Those I just found to be depressing.
I'm a big FPV fan and saw videos of people doing cool moves. Within 6 hours, I was doing all these cool moves myself. The USAF Workbench is an awesome way to customize drones that aren't available in other sims. Highly recommended. One thing though, the trainer is not the most useful thing—just fly around in freestyle mode, that's what I did.
Rank amateur here and really needed the tutorial. This is the best I have found.
I have never flown a drone of any kind outside my kids toys. I am learning quickly with tutorials and freeplay.
Good for developing that muscle memory for FPV flying.
Good for training
One of the two most effective flight simulators for FPV Drones to practice flight techniques. If you need a game - then you can choose anything. If you need a simulator - there is no choice.
Один з двох найефективніших симуляторів польотів для FPV Drones для відпрацювання техніки польоту. Якщо потрібна гра - то можна вибрати що завгодно. Якщо потрібен тренажер - вибору немає.
its very hard my brain is fried im getting better slowly
