Story
Riki Naoe lost his parents as a child, and fell deep into despair.
He was saved by a group of kids who called themselves the Little Busters: Kyousuke Natsume, Masato Inohara, Kengo Miyazawa, and Rin Natsume.
They took him and played at being heroes who fought tireless evil around them.
Riki discovered endless joy in spending time with his new friends, even though the group was silly and their missions tended to end in failure.
Over time, it washed away his loneliness and suffering.
Years later, the whole gang was attending the same school, and Riki became a second-year.
They were still as silly as ever and spent their youth following Kyousuke's silly ideas.
Description
"Little Busters!" is a hit visual novel that was originally released in Japan in 2007.
In the following year, "Little Busters! Ecstasy" edition came out, promoting Kanata Futaki and Sasami Sasasegawa to heroines, and adding an all-new heroine, Saya Tokido.
In 2012, the "Little Busters! PERFECT EDITION" was released with improvements in the "Little Busters! Ecstasy" scenarios.
In 2012 and 2013, the game was made into two anime series "Little Busters!" and "Little Busters! ~Refrain~". Both series are available and have gained a large following in many countries outside of Japan as well.
"Little Busters! English Edition" is a new version that further enhances "Little Busters! PERFECT EDITION". This new edition supports HD resolution for the first time on PC, and allows dynamic switching between Japanese and English text.

RIKI NAOE
Ordinary Boy with an Extraordinarily Lively Youth
The protagonist. Riki is a bit weak-willed, yet very considerate toward his friends. He always gets involved in the ruckus caused by the troublemakers around him. Riki also plays an important role as the straight man in his pals' idiotic comedy routines.
KYOUSUKE NATSUME
Leader who Turns Ordinary Days into Missions
Kyousuke is the only third-year in the team and leads the team. The mysterious side of his personality attracts many girls unbeknownst to him while he enjoys boys' comics like a little kid.
MASATO INOHARA
Lovable Straight Muscle Idiot
Masato is simply a muscle idiot. He dedicates his life to bodybuilding and fighting. Masato and Kengo are like cats and dogs, always fighting each other. No one but Kyousuke is capable of arbitrating their fights.
KENGO MIYAZAWA
Masato's Strongest Rival
Kengo is a different type of idiot from Masato, one who devotes himself to kendo. He pretends to be cool and collected, but is actually impulsive and short-tempered under his exterior. Unlike the rest of the team, he has a somewhat cynical nature.

Peerlessly Cute Fairy Tale Girl
Komari is a girl who loves picture books, fairy tales, and sweets. She is so careless and clumsy that she often messes things up and ends up bringing herself to tears. She lives her life seeking "wonderful things" and "keys to happiness." Komari is, in short, an optimistic airhead.

Prideful Kitten who Doesn't Easily Take to Others
Rin is Kyousuke's little sister. She is rather unsociable, having grown up under the protection of her brother. She tends to act before she thinks. She is often seen using high kicks when a particular person does or says something silly.

Easygoing Noisy Girl
Haruka is not in the same class as Riki, but for some reason can always be found in his classroom. Where she goes, trouble always follows. She either gleefully involves herself, or gets caught up in the mess. She basically flies by the seat of her pants without taking anything seriously.

Exotic (Self-Proclaimed) Mascot
Kudryavka has a very Japanese personality, influenced by her Japanophile grandfather, despite having been born and raised outside Japan. She doesn't like that fact and forces herself to speak English. She is actually younger than the rest of the team. Everyone around her adores and picks on her as a mascot. Her friends call her "Kud."

Yuiko is one of Riki's classmates, the very personification of an "Anego." Everybody around her counts on her because of her confidence bordering on arrogance and keen insight. She also loves cute girls.

A story about friendship. One of the best visual novels I've ever read, even after half a decade. The mini-games, music, characters, and story... they are all so engaging. While more of the stories really resonated with me this time, others didn't quite click yet. But I’m sure they will when I revisit this novel in the future, as the more I live, the more lessons learnt...
Although there are some minor translation errors here and there, they didn't bother me much.
Muscle/10 would recommend
I'm biased, but this is my favourite series ever. I found out about back in 2010 I think and by the end of 2011, I finished playing the main scenario in a fan translated version. When the anime was announced, I watched and rewatched it countless times and even helped sub one of the anime episodes with some friends for fun.
When the official English version was announced, I was overjoyed, ecstatic. However, life gets in the way and only yesterday I managed to 100% it, even going through the joke endings.
I cannot recommend enough people to play this masterpiece, especially if the theme "friendship" has a special place in their hearts as it does in mine. It picked my interest the first time I read its synopsis and it has stood as my favourite series of all time by a long shot since then.
Also, a fun fact: Key, the creator of Little Busters, Kanon, Air, Clannad, Rewrite, Angel Beats, Charlotte, Summer Pockets, Harmonia and others, held a character popularity poll back in 2019. Natsume Kyousuke, a supporting character in Little Busters, won the first place in the main category, ahead of every heroine, every waifu Key, a bishoujo game company, created. If this doesn't make people want to read it, then I guess the genre and/or themes simply isn't for them.
It is Key studios, Jun Maeda and a Amazing story. I'm writing this when I still have some qualms by Saya's route. I want to respect Jun so I let my confusion pass.
Everything about this story was a rollercoster of emotions. I love the music, I love Na-ga's Artwork. Everything is so pretty. The characters are all touching in their own way. 野球 is a very bonding group activity. Makes me lament that I have so little friends. Very bittersweet. They make the cats like children, the Teenagers like 30yo ptsd shellshocked vets and middleschoolers or first years like world class spy. a very human story. I'm going to try Clannad next, that one is probably less violent and bitter and focus less on overseas stuff and more on domestic family matters and more relate able as a whole than this novel. But I do relate to the foreign student as a foreigner in alot of ways, I don't think Clannad has that.
Lamplight and Faraway and Saya's song are my favorite tracks. I think I grew to love all the tracks here though.
WARNING: Get it from other sources to get the 18+ scenes and the PG13 scenes, they cut them from this version. I had trouble hooking text on this version for learning JP, I think the same hook hooks the EN text with a line break.

I haven't played the additional Ecstacy routes/content yet, but I just finished the main game, and I just have to get this off my chest.
Little Busters as amazing. Simply fantastic. It's not for the feint of heart though. There is a LOT of content to play through. It's a very long game, and I will say that the game didn't hook me as hard as others early on, and while I was kept pretty engaged through most of the game, and I had a lot of laughs and tears, it just seemed to be missing that special sauce that made me love its sister game, Clannad, so much.
Well good things come to those who wait, and, it's really hard to explain what makes Little Busters 1000% worth it in the end without spoilers, but just rest assured that all of the character development, world building, and silly antics are worth it, and add up to an extremely emotional and satisfying conclusion that had me giggling, crying, and smiling all at once as those final credits scrolled by.
I recommend to the highest degree if you enjoy something long with a lot of jokes, a lot of wholesome friendships, perplexing mysteries, and incredibly powerful emotions
10/10, would shed tears while writing the review for the game I cried 43 times during again.

I wasn't expecting the masterpiece it came to be.
When I started this, I'd heard a bit of the visual novel, but had no idea other than its release in 2007, and the EX additions in 2008. It simply blew me away. The characters are all well fleshed out. Unlike some routes in other Key games, the sheer quality in every route was really something to look forward too. Although I did start with the presumably weakest route Kud's, yeah. It was too vague and power-of-friendship-ish. However, I really liked her alternate route. My favorite route had to be Haruka's.
Really glad I gave this a shot. Definitely my favorite visual novel along with Rewrite+.
If you like emotional story sprinkled with good humor, slice of life and awesome OST, you can't go wrong with this one, Key doing what Key is best at.

It's an extremly emotional story, I really enjoyed it a lot. One of my fav VNs from the key studio that I have read, its up there with clannad for me.
It has a lot of slice and life and goofy scenes when not much happens, you gotta learn to enjoy them to like this game. They make all the heavy things hit harder later down the line.

Little Busters made me cry so hard. The only other piece of media able to do that was Clannad: After Story, which were both written by Jun Maeda. He knows whats up... But in all honesty, this visual novel is worth the hours. It was funny, thought provoking, and simply one of the greatest stories I've ever seen. I would recommend this visual novel to anybody who is interested in the Visual Novel genre or is looking for a comfort game. Jun Maeda, you truly are the goat.
I used to drop out of school and stay at home, full of disappointment in life. It was Little Busters who redeemed me and gave me the courage to face life again. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to you .
