Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection

I used to LOVE this game. Thought I'd do a replay. I downloaded onto my new laptop only to find I couldn't start over. Whatever, I'll just replay the tutorial. Game crashed TWICE inside of 30 minutes requiring a CTRL ALT DEL stop task in order to gain control of my computer. Sad day.

get planet zoo for complexity, get this game for simplicity, if you want a more simple zoo tycoon game you wanna get this, also cool to see all the animal interactions

If you want to build the Zoo of your dreams, then buy Planet Zoo. Zoo Tycoon is deceptively limited and restricts creativity even in sandbox. Would not recommend.

Very little customization, kinda sucks. Also I can't delete the walls of the enclosure and unleash my lions onto unsuspecting visitors, so 0/10

Overall a fun game. Use to have this game when it was on disk and the graphics stunk so this is most definitely an upgrade. Few personal preferences that I dislike about the game, but overall a fun game to play especially when you want to shut your brain off and just enjoy a calming game.

The game was good and I enjoyed playing it on the XBOX but due to some weird complications, I cannot play with my family on cross platform unless I get another game pass. I am very disappointed. We already have two in the household so buying a third is insane and its crazy that I cannot purchase it through steam and play with them.

This is Zoo Keeper Tycoon, not zoo tycoon. Plus switching the controls are really annoying

This game seems to simulate being a zoo keeper not building a zoo. this is not like the old games.

Best game ever!

As someone who grew up playing the classic 90's Zoo tycoon, this has quickly become my favorite games! While not as high in graphic quality as much more modern games, the simplistic mash between modern and the classic 90's graphics creates a delightful relaxing atmosphere. The dev's have done a fantastic job with creating easy to follow tasks, meaning you don't have to look up a 3 hour walk through to figure out how to complete your objective. The level of decore is also very detailed, you can create a beautiful natural zoo with rocks and trees around the entire zoo. However, i must say I hope to see in the future more decore options for the exhibits, while there are quite a few options, after 4-5 of the same exhibit type the decore becomes repetitive. Truly a flash back to the past!

My fiance while I was showing him my zoo said, "It looks really low quality and I'm not sure it will be fun." about 30 seconds later I called in a buggy. To which the zebra buggy proceeds to appear from nowhere, fly over my head, and nearly flip over while landing. The next words from my fiance's mouth were, "This is the greatest game ive ever seen." He quite enjoyed the game after that! So a double thumbs up for the Dev's!

It's a really simple game, without much room for customization, lacking some content and rather repetitive, but still, it's enjoyable, especially for beginners in management games.

This is the single most disappointing Zoo Tycoon game. There is zero customisation, the most you can do is change the color of the benches and add enrichment to exhibits. However, even those you only could place them, where the game had pre-determined was allowed.

The main campaign is repetitive at best and generally boring and poorly made. It takes away all the joy and challenge of the old game and makes and soulless cash grab.

i honestly don't get why this game gets all the hate it gets, yes it isn't as good as planet zoo or the original zoo tycoon but it serves its purpose i believe this is the perfect game to get the younger audience into zoo building games before they move onto PZ or ZT2.
It also runs flawlessly on the steam deck despite its unsupported rating.

Poor and complicated controls. It has only a misleading name in common with the original ZOO Tycoon game. Disappointment!

I definitely regret buying this game, it is nothing like the previous installments. If you have played previous zoo tycoon games and expect this to be the same sort of experience DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. All the enclosures and buildings are pre-built which really takes away any sort of creative control the other games in the franchise were so known for. I mean for real this game feels like it should be a phone game considering how limited and basic it is, which is saying something because considering how old the original zoo tycoon games are I bet you could run them on your phone and it would definitely still be a way better experience than this! How this game came out like 6+ years after the previous installments and is somehow significantly worse, I have no idea. If you don't care about the creative freedom of actually building out your zoo and just want the experience of interacting with the animals in a sort of zoo manager type sim, than I don't know maybe you'll enjoy yourself, otherwise don't waste your money.

Not as fun as the previous instalments, as the exhibits are pre-built and there's little room for creativity.

I've really enjoyed all the challenges and the campaign mode
i could understand it getting repetitive for some people but I honestly really enjoy this game
somewhat wish there were more animal selection or at least dlcs
for other zoo animals like wolves, coyotes, gorillas, cheetahs, penguins, or even an aquarium related tycoon! But regardless i still enjoyed the game.

Not the Zoo Tycoon experience I was hoping for. Exhibits are pre-genned with little customization available.

It is a very good game and perfect for animal lovers and building shortcuts, in my opinion one of frontiers best games!

Anyone looking for Zoo tycoon 1 or 2, do not buy this. I repeat, do not. This is almost a crime against the name "Zoo tycoon". I bitterly regret every cent spent for this.

If you do not know original Zoo tycoon, then it´s bit boring, but ok I guess. Kind of like Hogwarts Legacy - chamber of need.
