While it sort of counts as a puzzle game in the match-three category, unfortunately if you don't choose options in the exact right order (as determined by the developer), you won't complete the levels. Which pretty much means you have to guess what they had in mind, with no way to predict the correct course of action. And if you choose even one or two options wrong, you have to start all over again.

Others have said it well. This game is a puzzle game, but to clear an area, you need to select ALL of the adjacent blocks of the same color, or NONE of them disappear. In theory, it sounds like an interesting take on the "match 3" genre. Or at least it did when I didn't think about it very hard. In practice, however, it is very annoying. It is impossible to set anything up for more than a couple moves. And especially the last levels require groups of 3 to 4 of the same color. And it is color specific. Therefore, it is very easy to have a large chunk of blocks that cannot be removed that simply take up more and more space. And the blocks that fall from off-screen are random.

Also, you cannot save your progress within a level. When you quit out of a level, it says, "Save and Exit." I click yes. Then I come back and the level has reset, as well as my score!

I strongly do not recommend this game.

Also, most of the hours I've spent in the game is on the last few levels because of their extreme difficulty and their ultimate reliance on pure chance. And one small mistake can cost you the entire level.

A small puzzle game where you must match two or more blocks in a perfect line. This game has a psychedelic layout with a lot of ambience and relaxation.

The only problem I have with this game is that I wish it had a "casual" stage just for playing and not scoring, like Bejeweled has. The only games it has is in level form. Overall, a not bad game.

Very good relaxing puzzle game with beautiful and serene space ambient music. It is for people who want a bit tricky puzzle game and seek for relax and calm down and still want to play something this is for you. -Or if you like space ambient music and cute squishy jelly eerie things this is your pick. Once you figure out how excatly it is supposed to be played is very enjoyable.

I am convinced that Lucid was made by 2 and 1/2 people, using only half of each other's brains while simultaneously making breakfast at midnight. That comes to Lucid being made by 1 and 1/4 of a brain. That isn't an insult. I know lots of games made with only one brain that entertained me to the dickens. check out 'VVVVV" for one. But Lucid is the exception. the game is so simple, AND DON"T EVEN THINK I am going to turn down the "simplicity is godicity" road, because with games it never is. An entertaining simple game while fun is never fun that evolves into more fun. the original Mario is fun, but if you were to play it again today, more than half your fun would come from nostalgic memories, not the actual gameplay in and of itself. Why do you think as sysetms evolved so did Mario. nintendo didnt just stick to the same game with each new installment, They added more and more and more until the system burst from the seams and they were forced to make a system that could handle more. Lucid is way too simple. there are a bunch of blocks stacked utop bibby bop. each move has a target color, you connect blocks of the target color and your meter fills up. You fill the meter up and you succeed up the level ladder(trademark). THATS IT!!!! I was emotionally done with the game by level 10 and there are a lot more levels after 10.

This is a very relaxing and colourful little puzzle game

It starts out gently (you even get automatic hints for the very early levels) but as others have said it gets increasingly challenging, and the difficulty spikes a lot as you approach level 50. I know puzzle games are meant to get challenging in later levels, but a more gradual and consistent increase in difficulty over the span levels might have been better. Also I felt the difficulty between levels wasn't always consistent. For example I personally really struggled with level 52 and needed many restarts, yet got through level 53 on my first attempt.

My only other complaint is that the delete save button is directly below the play button, and is very easy to hit by mistake (especially with a touch pad). If you do your game is just deleted with no warning or confirmation window forcing you to start over.

All in all an enjoyable puzzle game, despite it's faults, and well worth checking out.

I bought this game for a chill little time-waster, but it turned out to be much more than that.

The first thing I wasn't expecting was the difficulty curve. It started out pathetically easy, but by level 50 the game had become fiendishly difficult (though the occasional checkerboarding seems a bit forced). As of this review I still haven't beaten the penultimate level.

The line-drawing also adds a surprising amount of depth. This mechanic lead to me starting to call shapes that couldn't be properly drawn "monstrosities", since if I couldn't somehow settle them into a better shape and eliminate them, they would inevitably begin to catch more of more of their color and spread like a spiky cancer through the board. You have to be careful not to create them (or feed existing ones) if you can ever help it, but eventually one will slip through. Often this can spell doom, but every so often you can manage to pull off a win before it gets too bad, which feels great.

The static starting boards are paired with randomized tasks to create the challenge. On certain late levels it's even advisable to restart until you get better starting tasks, so that you can clear a designed big group and complete a task at the same time for a big head start on the completion meter. More difficult tasks in the later levels also attempt to ensure that you can't manage to chain them to create a Lucid block, forcing you to deal with the beginning board's complications the whole way through, rather than randomize the board and make things easier on yourself.

My only complaints would be that the "zen" music gets grating rather quickly, and a personal complaint that I did not buy this to get a hard game. Despite its difficulty it remains fun, though. It's a pretty good puzzle game.

The main hook that separates Lucid from the plethora of countless other falling block puzzle games is the way you remove these blocks. Rather than guiding pieces through mid air to try perfectly filling in empty spaces or position them so they match with their similiars, here the board is already full and you have to use your best judgement to trace a line through blocks of the same colour to remove them from play and send all the pieces above them crashing downwards. Remove the required colour and minimum target number to fill a circular gauge at the side of the screen, the more blocks you remove each turn the greater the amount the gauge will fill up and complete the stage. But there's a catch, as there always is.

While the minimum allowable number of blocks that can be removed in a single action can be as little as two, and with the upper limit only being whatever's actually available, if you want to remove a group of matching blocks then you MUST be able to remove all of the ones that connect to each other in that one action. Also, the line you trace has to be in a single, continuous strand that cannot cross over or repeat back on itself. So, for example, a T-shaped arrangement of blocks could never be removed because, after the starting point, the line you draw would have to move to one side or the other but then could not reach the remaining blocks without going back over itself and therefore could not connect all blocks of the same colour. It sounds kinda complicated, but trust me, it's a lot easier in practice.

There are 55 stages in total, and at first it seems like each one is simply a random collection of mixed colours that you remove with little thought, but you then begin to realise that the field of play isn't as haphazardly laid out as it first appears and there's actually an art to planning ahead and setting up the blocks to maximise your score and finish the stage more quickly. You can still randomly draw away at groups on a whim for the most part, but in later stages you can easily lead yourself into a dead end with no more viable options as the clusters of colours form shapes that are all but impossible to remove.

Unfortunately there's a fly in the ointment, though it isn't so much the way it plays, but rather, everything else. The presentation is mostly passable, but you can't shake the sense that there's something of a cheap or unfinished quality to it, as if nothing about it feels... "solid", like there's a very unsatisfying disconnect between the player and everything you interact with. It's almost like the cursor is hovering over a sheet of glass the entire time and never really touching what's on the other side. This would seem to suggest it started off life as a tablet game (where it would be perfectly suited), but apparently this isn't the case.

This isn't a bad game, by any means, but with its lacklustre feel and complete absence of any additional game modes beyond the 55 stages on offer, what could have been a really great game instead, frustratingly, is only a good one for casual puzzle fans to enjoy.

I'm not normally a huge fan of puzzle games, but I have enjoyed Lucid more than Bejeweled and other match games. Unfortunately, it really wasn't challenging at all until level 40+ (and I believe there are only 55 levels total). I made it up through level 48 before it glitched and erased all my progress. I may still try and play through it for the achievements. If you do pick this one up, wait for it to be on sale. If you're looking for a challenging puzzle game, prepare to be a bit bored up through the first 3/4 of the game.

A great mind numbing experience..... The music is tranqui, the game play is simple, and there is some strategy but it is not going to give you overload.... All in all it is a good relaxor before bed.....or simply to destress..... Enjoy!!

Completely forgettable in every way. There's only one game mode and it isn't terribly interesting. Whatever you're looking for in a puzzle game, look somewhere else.

This is a great puzzle game for when you are just passing the time. The beauty and sound to this game gives you something to come to when you need to calm down and it really does help. The game is not that hard however, but the replay value is basically unlimited. It's a good game to get if you like very calm and serene games.

I have never played this game, but I bought it because it reminded me of a lucid dream i had about being on an elevator outside in harsh snow conditions. What happened on that elevator, well, I can't explain very easily.. Let's just say that cats who play with laser pointers are the worst snipers in the world.

Worth about 50¢. The concept is simple & original, but I've seen the match 3 of the same color done better. The music/sound is annoying, the last 10 or so levels are extra stupid hard & need pure luck to beat. For only 12 hours, I guess it wasn't hard to get 100% achievements on it and there are worse games out there. Only get it if you like casual match 3 games.

A decent puzzle game quite fun early on but can become a bit of a grind on the later levels. Luck is too much of a factor on the way the blocks fall early on some levels.

A mediocre puzzle game and one of the most boring I've ever played. With almost all of the achievements, I gave it a good shot. Every level is the same in that you draw lines over adjacent jelly cubes of the same color to make them disappear and to fill up a gauge to move on to the next level.

By matching cubes, you score points and there is also a goal color displayed that you should match to increase your score multiplier. In Tetris fashion, you're shown what cube color is coming up next. The only problem is that your score is meaningless since there are no leaderboards. Difficulty never ramps up much and the game remains far too easy and repetitive. Not even a timed mode or any challenges or unlockables. Pick any other puzzle game and you'll have more fun.

Although the music is quite soothing, this is your typical run of the mill block matching game. The goal is to get a specific number of tasked blocks to clear a level. Each task requires you to make color blocks which pushes up your multiplier. If you don't follow the task, the multiplier drops back to zero. Lucid blocks can clear the field, but they are worth crazy points at the end of a level if you don't use them. It's kind of counter intuitive in that the point system is really about pushing up the multiplier rather than going for the largest color blocks. Keep your blocks small and you push up the multiplier to the point where the lucid blocks end up counting for tens of millions of points each.

(Updated Review)
Game has not aged well. Graphic resolution has become trash. I don't expect it would ever get an update but an HD remake would have been chill.

(Previous Review)
One of the most relaxing and casual games ever! The music and graphics are so soothing if you aren't careful you may just melt into a puddle of tranquility that flows directly into the sea of pure pleasantness. If you like casual games then it is a must have.

Another gem matching game. It looks pretty (as far as a game like this can look pretty) and it's addicting. But then again, if you've seen one of them, you've seen them all.
