I played the game and I can say the following:
What I liked
The game's story is engaging and immersive. The characters' personalities and backgrounds are well written. The game's ending changes depending on my choices and I want to play again to explore different endings.
The game's graphics are beautiful and colorful. I liked the atmosphere and scenery of the island. The character designs are also attractive and varied. The game's soundtrack is also pleasant and harmonious.
The game's humor and romance are well balanced. Some scenes made me laugh and some made me emotional. The dialog is fluent and natural.
What I didn't like
The gameplay is very simple and limited. I can only read the text and make choices. I would have liked more interactive elements or mini-games in the game.
The game has a very short duration. I finished the game in about an hour. I would have liked the game to be longer and deeper. The price of the game is a bit high for what it is.
The game has some bugs and shortcomings. I saw some spelling mistakes and translation problems. There is no voice-over, only text. Some scenes of the game also looked very dark or blurry.
All in all, Getaway Island is a fun and enjoyable visual novel game, but not perfect. The game has its pros and cons. You may like the game and you may not like the game. My advice for those who want to try the game is to get it on sale or check out the guides on the Steam Community before playing the game. My score for the game is 6/10.
Peace of Crap. Sht Grafik, 99% Garbage story 1% try to collect pics. Not worth the price.
Why did I buy this and robux instead of buying DMC 4? The writing and art is something you would except to get from a 90% sale, (I got it for 12 php and it's pretty decent). The girls are kinda annoying, they made Lili have no personality than being stupid. I may be stupid for buying this but at least I am not that stupid. And Junko is a poorly written tsundere. She acts all smart but she's just as stupid as Lili. She doesn't even say something elitist levels of pretentious for me to go like "wow deep thoughts, so smart". Okay never mind, i was wrong about the girls. but like Imagine putting on a swimsuit then saying "A little bit revealing in my opinion", of course it's revealing you dumbass, it's a swimsuit. I think I only bought this cuz I was intrigued by the MC's story about his love life. And well, just buy it during sale.
Okay I've gotten well with the girls, I think Lili is endearing and Junko isn't so bad but she's kinda annoying, though I've seen the ending and I learned that it was garbage. I bought this game to expect some heartbreaking and sad ending but now I think I regret ever trying this game in the first place.
It is what it is, a story book. The story is about a guy that gets shipwrecked on an island with two girls. One is super reserved and bit, well, um, shall we say 'grumpy and bossy', while the second girl is a bubbly blond airhead. The third girl you meet later and is a native to the island. The idea is to choose a romance path with one ot the girls present or to go home to the GF, get hitched, and live boringly ever after. Each of the three girls have one nekkid boobie picture if you complete their line properly up to the end of "The Date". There is no nekkid 'welcome home' picture of the ball and chain.
The interface is pretty good for a story-game. It has auto advance and rapid skip, the latter works great for multiple play throughs. Some important sequences have the 'skip' feature turned off and both the skip and auto features stop at user-input chioce screens. The auto-advance feature can be adjusted faster or slower, default being midway through. There is also an auto-save that saves the last several choice screens. Thee is also a 'history' item that gives the texts of the last several screens which is especially useful when clicking too fast or using the 'skip' feature.
This isn't a game. It's a click-through story. First, there's a half dozen different background pictures (the cave, the beach, the jungle entrance, etc). Second, there's about 4 cut-out looks/poses of each girl (normal, happy, sad, and angry) super-imposed on the background picture. Third, there's a line of text to read. All you do is read the text, then click for the next line of text to read. Keep repeating until conversation is over, then click to go to the next picture and have another conversation. That's it. If you are looking for animations or sex stuff, look elsewhere. Other reviewers have written that there are 3 topless pictures in here somewhere (1 for each girl), but I cannot confirm that at this point in time.
The story starts with you waking up on a remote island. You were on a cruise ship and somehow fell overboard, though you don't seem to remember how it happened. In an odd twist of fate, two girls (Junko and Lili) also seemed to fall overboard at the same time, but neither one of them can explain how it happened either. First, there's the usual beginnings (build a shelter, find some food, etc). You can't find any useful resources, but strangely enough you do find a old weathered rowboat which just happens to have 2 skimpy bikinis in it for the girls to wear.
After 4 or 5 days you discover a 3rd girl (Rin-Rin) on the island, running around in the jungle wearing a handmade loincloth bikini. She's primitive, and hard to communicate with, but on the friendly side. She has lived there as long as she can remember, and of course, finds you attractive. Through your conversations with the 3 girls, the story will change based on which of the 2 endings you'd like to see... you either end up with one of these girls, or you get back home to the girlfriend you had.
Since there is nothing to do here except click click click through conversations and the same old pictures, I am personally so bored I think organizing a bellybutton lint collection would be more entertaining. I can't wait to get this "game" finished so that I can "retire it" and move on to something fun. However, my personal feelings aside...
1. The girls all have uniquely distinct personalities (if not somewhat stereo-typical).
2. The artwork is decent.
3. Some relaxing tropical music plays during some of the conversations.
4. Except for the mystery of how Junko, Lili, and yourself all fell overboard at the same time but can't remember it, the story so far seems solidly put together.
In summary, I think 'Getaway Island' is pretty good at what it is. A lot of effort went into creating this. If you like click-through story "games", then by all means buy this one. I'm sure you'll like it.

The whole UI and game experience is like a downgrade from Being_A_Dik (I checked that they have different publishers) but the whole "save load gallery..." thing is basically the same.
Bought this game for trading cards anyway.
This is an interesting visual novel without voice acting.

I won't reveal the story because I haven't found any yet. An obscure castaways story, that's all I can say.
If you have a very, very young brother he may explain it but if he is over 7 or 8 he will probably not understand either.
I like the graphic style but the music is worse than the game itself so better mute it. For the gameplay it is too bad the auto advance doesn't work otherwise you could let it run in background while you clean the mess in your bedroom or Help your father mow the lawn and shovel the snow instead of wasting your time reading these insipid dialogs but nothing is perfect in this world, after all there are bugs even in AAA games way more expensive.
If like me you didn't expect anything from this game, at least you'll get something, which isn't so bad. This is why I recommend it. Verily, you get "something", but at the moment I am not sure what it is.
And do not expect the nudity or sexual content mentionned in the tags because there is none. When a game is tagged "adult content" it always means it is designed for pre-teens. This one is not an exception.
To sum up try it if you want, you will probably possibly survive and when you finish it you will discover you are one hour older.
About 2.5-3 hours of gameplay.
I'm only giving a positive review because i like the art style. There is not enough hentai to make this a hentai game and the story is not good enough on its own to be a good vn. If your buying just for hentai you get one still image of each individual girl topless. If your buying for story meet and fuck is a better dating sim.
Its entertaining and the artwork is nice, but it was weird how the two castaways were so quick to throw away their clothes and put on skimpy bikinis first chance they got.
A straight forward visual novel with fleshed out characters but a rushed third act. Still good enough to be worth your time.
Well, to be honest, this little visual novel was more enjoyable than I anticipated. I liked the story, the writing, and the characters. I also appreciate the art even though it is amateurish. And finally, this guide explains how you can get the secret scenes which have a bit of nudity in them.
If you like romance visual novels then I DO recommend you try Getaway Island, BUT only on sale with a 50%+ discount.
Interesting story with lots of twists; takes couple of hours to fulfill, but otherwise easy to complete; depends on your psychology - you will either gain or lose ;) give it a shot, won't be dissapointed plus it's discounted atm :)
well, its not a game, its a story with once in a while a choice to make (without any real effect on the story it seems). I would like to know the end (willing that is maybe a good thing), but the story seems to be endless without any depth. I rather spend the hours on an actual book, the only difference between this and a book are the graphics. The store-page shows almost all of them. For me, it would be more interesting with less text (lots of talking and talking) and more choices to make.
An okay VN game with a little nudity at the end but nothing too extreme. Kinda disappointed that it wasn't though. But story-wise it was okay at the very least.
A 6 out of 10. Mostly because I'm an eroge connoisseur for 'normal' level of hentai. I'm not into that extreme stuff anyways.
Got the game under the pretense of nudity, my perverted having a-- was disappointed at the end result.
I mean overall the story was nice dealing with 3 completely different backgrounds, however the finale(I went down) felt a bit... I want to say rushed, as if there was a deadline to meet, that's my personal opinion though, I'd say give it a shot.
A short sweet visual novel with a few branching paths and a lite amount of fan service. The characters had a surprising amount of depth to them. I went the Junko route and was surprised by her backstory. It's clear the team put a lot of heart into the game.
This is an interesting visual novel with a LOT of content... and choices. You fall off a cruise ship and wash up on a deserted island with two women. For the first few days, you work and surviving, discover there might be a native girl watching you, and generally try not to cause permanent injuries.
Oh, and you might fall in love with one of those three beauties. Thing is, you have a girlfriend back home. And you went on the cruise to clear your head to figure out if SHE was the one...
How will things work out?
Note: the developer seems to have disappeared (because their second effort failed in the Kickstarter stage), and while you can find some interesting photos on the screenshots... I'm not sure how you find them in game...
I want to preface this by saying despite the hours I have on the game, I have watched the entire gameplay through and had time to let the story sink in. Thanks to NotSoProKitty for her amusing 14 parter video series on this game. Furthermore, I have no hate for anything involved, in fact I admire that everyone put time into this game, and judging by how it's advertised on social media, the creator(s) are proud of it as well. Finally, I'm going to be honest, but I'll try my best not to be rude. With that said...
Getaway Island is an interesting game. In fact, I dare say it's one of those games that its flaws are the reason why it's interesting. Let's start with the elephant in the room: the art. While it's true that the art style is unique and it seems to be no more than a couple different frames per character with some minor changes, the art is not the strongest part of the game. After doing some research and talking with the creator through YouTube comments, it would seem the artist of this game wasn't used to the Japanese-American style of character creation; this lead for some interesting pictures within the visual novel. While I will agree that the art could've been better, there are some good things about it. For example, the Lili pin-ups in the game are, for the most part, good. The artist has a grasp on anatomy and facial expressions in that regard. Furthermore, the art does show that the artist has been drawing for some time and one can assume that she was given the task to draw a style she's not familiar with; that's fair. However, I can't help but to agree with some of the comments that the art could've been better. Perhaps finding another artist, or even having this artist use her strong suits would've made this game better.
Second - and most important - the story. I can't say I'm all that impressed with it. I was hooked from the start, but where they drop the ball is around the time Rin-Rin shows up. I won't spoil anything, but I will say the ending felt like an after-thought, if not made up on the spot. The character themselves are somewhat flat, but all four of them have their own interesting backstories. I enjoy that the game gives us time to talk to each of the girls one-on-one, but I feel there could've been more to them. The weakest character, in my opinion, was Rin-Rin but perhaps that's because she was introduced halfway into the game, while the main characters, Junko and Lili, were with the protagonist since the beginning. Speaking of, Junko's character was the strongest and I can't help but to feel that she was the first and most thought out character in this game given her backstory and how she goes into detail on why she is the way she is; it was interesting to see her develop into a more well-rounded character. Lili was... cute, but slowly became annoying. It seemed that her personality changed mid-way through, given the way she was referring to herself. However, as I stated, the ending is what killed it. I'm unsure if a prequel will help this game, or if there were more backgrounds drawn, but I feel there was a huge piece missing from this game.
Finally, the spelling mistakes. There's a couple spelling and grammar errors in this game, and I wouldn't mind it as much, but this is a Visual Novel game. When writing a novel, pictures or without, one has to be mindful of spelling and grammar. If there's mistakes, fix then. Proof read often. Have others proof read it. This may be minor considering there's only a couple places where I noticed these mistakes, but I believe it's important nonetheless.
In conclusion, Getaway Island was an okay experience. A story that has a great building up, but disappointing ending, characters that are mildly interesting and could've been explored more, and an art style that could've been better, but at least showed that the artist was trying. Would I recommend this game? I would be inclined to say yes, but get it on sale. I think the consumer will enjoy some parts of this game, especially the secret pictures that are scattered throughout.

Well Hello, as a returning PC-gamer and new to the advantages of STEAM, this will be my first review for the STEAM-Community.
A keen reader and gamer what - I look-for, in either a novel or a game is an 'escape' from the unpleasantness of this world , not a reminder of it!
Getaway Island is a sweet little short-story with an interesting twist based upon the classic-setting, and depending on how you play and get into the role, it is a little more dynamic than you might think.
True it is not Shakespeare but does have a 'Shrew' in Jenko, it is not 'Blue Lagoon' but does have the not-so naive and 'free spirit' of Lilli Apricot, and Rin-Rin stands-in for Defoe's 'Man-Friday'.
While this visual-novel is not a game for 'game-play', the dialogue is nicely written, with well thought-through pathways! It is well suited for romantics old and young alike, just the sort of thing to sit-down to - with a cup of tea and cake!
If I have a critisim, it is with the 'snap-shots' or 'Gallery', it would be nice to slide-show or scroll through them, as one would through a photo-album.
But just a minute, don't the girls get a turn? What about a Getaway Island 2? The cantankerous Rochester or Darcy, vociferous over the demise of his dinner-jacket, then the lean Geek trying to dry-out his hand-held single-board, who would be quite good-looking if it wasn't for the damaged prescription-glasses, finally the native, 'one-with-nature' 6' 6" golden-tanned muscular overly-endowed Adonis named Karl - wearing just a skimpy leather-loincloth, who's only lines of English are heavily Germanic in accent, and all end in 'YAH, eest Goot Yah!
