Amazing combat, amazing map design, interesting story, infuriating boss fights.

Overall, Bayonetta is a hack-and-slash game with solid execution and fast, action-packed gameplay. Similar to Devil May Cry, it relies on long combos, the Witch Time mechanic to slow down time which is very interesting, and epic boss battles. While the QTEs can be annoying at times and the storyline can be a little confusing the first time you play it, the responsive combat system and interesting weapon variety keep the experience exciting.

Ohh I bought this because Hideki Kamiya said that Bayonetta and Dante from DMC are in the same universe :v I hope they make a crossover game between Bayonetta and DMC.

Really epic core gameplay and fun nonsense cutscenes. The developers don't know why the game is good though and insist on minigames that make me hit my teeth with hammers.

This game throughroughly ruined my life. First off it trauamatize me. Because my neighbor walked past my window while I was screaming " Cl*max Cl*max Cl*max" as I was strying to defeat a boss. This is so WRONG OF THEM TO KNOW THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND THEY ALLOWED IT IN THEIR GAME. They knew that this was an issue and did not patch it out. I am FURIOUS. How could they damage my reputation with my neighbor like this? I can't believe them. Actually mad. GGRRR GRRRRRRR bark barlk bark bark gRRR BRRRRR BRRRR it's cold! It's it's cold it's so cold! I'm freezing! Anyways. It was a great game. 10/10 I really liked how bayonetta was a baddie. Goodbye.

Really really fun and challenging hack and slash game. It amazes me how the bossfights are designed mechanically and visually. I've never experienced bossfights like in this game before, and its awesome.
Some levels are admittedly not as fun as the others, but I'd say this is one hell of a game when you're into hack and slashes. I don't think I've even discovered all the mechanics or combos in this game, and this is what also makes this and Devil May Cry such fun games, the huge variety of combos you can do when fighting.

The game has multiple timed sequenece of running away from fire that are nearly impossible with PC mouse and keyboard. These are not changed by difficulty level. I got stuck in chapter XV by a fire sequence that I tried several hours to get through. Game guides didn't help. IMO it is a broken aspect of the port to PC. Ruins an otherwise interesting and unique game.

blatant ripoff of devil may cry, main issue is that this game has a dodge roll which slows time making countering braindead easy. in devil may cry you actually have to get creative and interact with the combat system and the enemy to figure out how to optimally avoid damage and deal damage but in bayonetta you can essentially play the game with just dodge and one attack button alone since spamming it will let her do an autocombo.

Literally one of the best if not the best action game. The combat gets you so excited and the cutscenes (😏) are much clearer than switch/ps3. Definitely recommend getting a switch for Bayo 2.

An insane, beautifully over-the-top, incredibly fun start to what is quickly becoming one of my new favorite series, and also the introduction of one of my favorite gaming characters, Bayonetta is such a badass, loveable character that probably does a better job at being a strong and empowering female character than almost any other piece of media I've seen, she's like up there with Ellen Ripley. You can definitely tell that it was the first entry in an ambitious new series though, as it hits really, really hard when it's at its best, but it also has some parts that really, really suck.

The supporting cast is also enjoyable, though the plot itself is mostly there to serve as a backdrop for the insane action sequences.

Visuals & Sound – A Feast for the Senses

Visually, Bayonetta combines gothic and baroque aesthetics with surreal environments and dazzling effects. The character designs are bold and memorable, and the animations are some of the smoothest in the genre. Not playable on pc since it had too many game breaking bugs. The emulated version also runs better somehow.

Bayonetta IS FOREVER ICONIQUE. The character and cutscenes are so amazing that her confidence just puts an impact to you. Not to mention the combat is so visceral and cathartic yet so stylish and glorious at the same time. Not to mention the replay value is so high, you can literally learn new stuff even when this game hits 30 years old. The developers really put a lot of love, thought, and attention to quality. If you want a hack and slash, this is one of the best ones.

I first played it on my PlayStation 3, but now that I've played it on my PC, I really love the port and went after the 100% achievements. Bayonetta waifu 😍❤️

Here I am downloading Bayonetta again. I've completed it on Normal difficulty, and gave up on the harder difficulties because the controls are very difficult on keyboard. But after not touching it for almost a year, I realized I was browsing my library and craving the combat and fun punchy scenes that are in this game. The story won't knock your socks off, but the characters are fun, the cutscenes are entertaining and the combat is just seamless when you get in the zone. If you have not played this before, I highly recommend. It is a fun, short game with lots of personality.

I have bought the game a while ago and only was able to try it out now, but there is no sound in it, the only game im facing this issue with. i have tried to close it and reopen it and even restarted my PC but nothing, still no sound. did anyone face the same issue and if yes how did you manage to fix it, because i really want to play this game

good game with some pretty fun over the top action. bad port, i couldn't event access the settings menu until after chapter 2. definitely don't buy this for the 19.99 steam is asking

*edit* outside of the technical issues its still a very fun game yet very frustrating also. there are insane difficulty spikes at times and at certain points its a walk in the park. expect to load into a fight and immediately get stun locked and die

It's a little bit like Devil May Cry, but is also different. It's has some very interesting design for the main characters and enemies.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like if a high-fashion runway model, a dominatrix, and a chaos-loving witch had a love child, Bayonetta is the answer. This game doesn’t just let you fight demons (actually, angels, but story-wise they are no more than part of a tyrannical order called Paradiso)—it lets you do it in six-inch stilettos while breakdancing and summoning giant demonic fists made of your own hair. Truly, art.
Bayonetta herself is the queen of cunty legs—and I mean that with the utmost respect. Her kicks are so powerful they could rearrange your spine and your self-esteem in one smooth motion. Every time she gracefully roundhouses an angel into another dimension, I feel personally attacked, and yet, I crave more.
The gameplay? Fast, fluid, and flashy, like Devil May Cry if Dante traded his coat for a latex catsuit and a better hairstylist. The story? Absolute nonsense, but in the best way possible. It’s like a fever dream written by someone who watched The Matrix, Sailor Moon, and a Catholic sermon all at the same time.
The best part? The sheer confidence this game oozes. Bayonetta doesn’t just fight—she performs. Every dodge slows time, every attack is a spectacle, every combo is almost-literally sexual punishment, and every cutscene reminds you that she could steal both your wallet and your man before you even knew what happened.

Bayonetta is a really fun game, but there are SO MANY BUGS!!!! sometimes you'll soft lock yourself because you jumped too fast into something, invisible characters in cut scenes, and even maps not fully loading within the actual game, I've gotten soft locked mid fight and couldn't defeat the enemy even though it showed no health.

Besides the bad things the game is actually really fun, the cut scenes are well made and add to the stories, the moves and Technics you can use grows as you play the game, you gain more weapons and after finishing a 30 minuets game section you get to play an angel shooting mini game.

DMC on drugs but instead of fighting demons here we fight angels

2 and 3 needs to get ported to PC it is very good

£3 on cdkeys. it doesnt waste any time and can be beat in 10 hrs. the most fun gameplay ive played and the best main character in any game.

This game just gets more and more insane as your progress through the story. Incredibly fun, funny, all the while being highly 'stimulating'.

Gameplay is great and normal difficulty served up quite a nice challenge.

Just buy it and give a shot - I can't imagine anyone not being entertained in some way by Bayonetta... unless they have a strong aversion to the female form lol

This game is pretty great for it's time and still holds up well to this day. The combat is very fast paced and the game rewards you for using different combos and mixing things up which leads you to want to buy new techniques and try out all the different weapons. A lot of the boss fights kinda drag, the combat can be a little unsatisfying at times, and some of the levels are really repetitive, but overall the game keeps things very fresh. The game is definitely a classic and aged very well and I'm excited to play 2 and 3.

this is the 2 or 3 platform I play bayonetta in and (let me tell ya) mods bring a whole new experience to this. you can add costumes, guns, and a lot more from bayo 2 and 3, but also original mods that are just as good and creative2! makes replayability up to the infinite!!

Gameplay and story are good but the game has fan service out the wazoo and I dont really like it. Way over the top for no reason and kinda ruins scenes in the game.

It's one of the best character action games of all time, but I'm having an issue with game crashes and invisible models during cutscenes.

I am sad to communicate that as much as I love this game (one of my all time favorites) I simply cannot recommended trough PC, the game haves some issues with performance, I've heard about slowing down on certain computers (wich is not my case) but mostly issues with models dissapearing.
I've started to notice the issue around chapter 5, where sometimes the enemies or certain characters in cinematics would not show up, wich in a way is fine, it dosen't affect gameplay at all. However later on in chapter 8 specially, got some issues where plataforms/floor wouldn't appear, and you would fall off stage and take demage out of the blank, some other issues where in that same chapter the enemy by the name of 'Brave' would simply not show up, softlocking you on the level.

All of these bugs are fixable by getting out of the game and verifying files, however It is not intended for most games to do this, Bayonetta is a beloved game of mine, I would hope that at least it would get the care it deserves by fixing these old time bugs, wich apprently happend to be around for a good chunk by now.
I understand that this may or not be possible for things out of the devs hands.
I've replayed this game constantly on my 360, got it on Steam because my 360 as much as I love it, is quite old and not able to continue working as intended (it is 2025 after all). So I wanted to revive this game by getting it on steam.

If you are able to overpass these issues, I invite you with open arms to enjoy this game, the art, the gameplay, the music, it all haves so much soul into it. So if you don't mind the bugs I've previously mentioned.. Please, Play the game!

Yassified DMC. Despite being a hack & slash, you can actually play it in your own style instead of just spamming the attack button. And that's a good enough reason for me to try this game out. Good story, memorable characters, amazing gameplay......only fools would ask for more!! Its a cult classic, so you're definitely missing out by not playing this game.

despite generally enjoying beat em ups & slashers like original Greek era GOW games, DMC etc I really didn't Bayonetta

I always heard about this game in periphery as a cult-classic and fan favorite. I knew I'd love the style and design just from some screenshots of the game. I was worried because the hack/slash type of games usually aren't my forte. This game changed it all. Its campy, cxnty, and combat LACED. Of course there are some sequences and chapters that are more interesting than others, but this game overall is a new favorite of mine.

Gameplay wise it throws you right into it and its a button mash for sure, by the end you're very accustomed to combos and the timing of dodges. That was a learning curve, this game is brutal on timing QTEs, combo dodges, and button presses, SUPER rewarding when you figure it out, keep trying those combos.

Biggest suggestion I have, that maybe there is a way to do it, but the loading screen to practice combos loads too quickly on the PC version - so you don't get to work on combo perfecting unless you're in game , Alfhiem, or Gates of Hell.

I had no issues running the game.

The combat, when not continuously interrupted, can be fun if a little demanding but weighted against said interruptions, bad camera, dreadful QTE's, seemingly endless cut scenes (many of which are static, all containing mind-numbing dialogue about a plot that will cure your insomnia), the boring shooter mini-game your forced to play over and over and over, and not forgetting the inexplicable inclusion of the pathetic motorcycle and space shooter levels... all in all it's a solid not recommended here.

An absolutely amazing play, fair difficulty (except for odd QTE), with immense amount of collectables and secrets. Bayonetta is 19 chapters (and a couple secret chapters) of pure angel slaughter and sexiness (come on, its like rated M, expect nudity already). I havent beaten the game yet, im around chapter 14, but i have to say this game has a easy to handle story and beautiful graphics. The witch has aged like fine wine for her steam port.

Difficulty is fair, but i'll be light on that fair, as sometimes there are *INSANE* difficulty spikes, but the games creativity and combat system makes up for it, there are some bosses ive noticed where reflecting their aggresion with the same aggresion tends to make it easier. Weapons are abundant, and you'll see yourself swapping sets on the fly(me to the moon) for your current situation.

The steam port for this game is absolutely perfect, as a mostly PC player (only use controllers for mhw), the combos have been really easy to digest and execute. The graphics improvement from console to pc is also noticeable, everytime i watch a cutscene i feel like im playing a book, it just feels so **good**.

In conclusion, i 1200 GIGATON% recommend this to anyone who hasnt played this game, or a hack n slash in general. This pack of angel slaying, dance-fighting, and being a BAD-BITCH is a rival to DMC and so many others, but i put this girl highly above all the rest.

Even with retrying chapters multiple times over I still had an absolute blast playing this game.

The combat isn't just click one button and win you actually have to learn your moves and learn how to dodge. The game will switch up play styles like driving or riding on a missile!

For music I was dancing along with Bayonetta at the end credits which is all I need to say.

The story is interesting and engaging, the game knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously.
If you remotely even kinda like hack and slash or just fun story telling pick up this game!

People like to say that this game is only for gooners, which isnt entirely incorrect BUT I would say that this game is campy: "Having deliberately artificial, vulgar, banal, or affectedly humorous qualities or style: played up the silliness of their roles for camp effect." - Urban Dictionary. It's a mix of gooner bait and genuinely good piece of media.

So,
1. This game has a steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of at least a couple of combos, you can have a lot of fun. (I play on very easy, and I'm still having trouble with combos LMAO)
2. The story is really engaging, while also not taking itself too seriously; a quality I also enjoy in DMC games.
3. The aesthetics of the game are TOP TIER. You like religious symbolism and motifs? scary enemy and boss designs? sexy women AND men??? play the gameeeeee

Good game but a pretty ok port. Bugs and glitches are really common in this version like invisible characters and items in cutscenes, enemies never appearing during battles, the pause screen straight up being unable to load, and a couple of minor ones. The bugs aren't enough to ruin the game it's still damn good but if that turns you off I suggest playing a different version.
