Do you have what it takes to escape? Constricted VR is a fully immersive Escape-The-Room style game exclusively for the HTC Vive. Beginning in a central hub, you can select from two different escape rooms with varying themes and puzzles. From the basement of a psychopath to a mysterious hallway, the environments are different and exciting. You may even discover some secrets while exploring both escape rooms. Please note that this game is not meant to be easy, so you must use every ounce of your deductive skills to escape each room!

Free game, but honestly? Just a waste of time. Not at all difficult and incredibly irritating. You spend 90% of the game picking shit back up. The mesh for your head (only there so you cast shadows) constantly hits anything you hold forcing the item to drop.
Only giving not recommended because there are way better free games out there that you can get a much nicer first time VR experience from.
Don't bother with this meh demo.
I was little disappointed. The lab was extremely confusing and there was barely any clues about what you were supposed to do. The Hallway was better, but the buggy teleportation system caused me to get stuck in walls and to lose items. I would like to leave a positive review, but due to these problems I simply can't do that.
Firstly, this escape room is extremely buggy, you cant interact with 90% of items around you, controls are just terrible, things are getting stuck and if you drop them on floor you cant pick them up anymore, graphics are ehm not even funny. Puzzles are super boring.
I dont know what else should I write in this quick review... if it would be for free, I would say dont waste your time anyway. For 0.79£? hell no

Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers.
This game took me 4 and a half hours to beat, not due to difficulty (In fact it was pretty easy to me), but due to technical issues with the game. I had to restart the levels halfway through complettion because objects would collide and fling across the room and sometimes glitch in the floor or wall. This especially happened with the lens you had to bring to your face. It would just fly far away and then you had to play hide and seek, other times its fallen outside of the map (Sorry, the devs patch didn't fix it completely).
One reason objects would go flying is if you didnt have a perfect line of pathway between the item in your hands and the destination, the item will clip behind another object or a wall and stay there. Sometimes it goes inside of the wall and I had to glitch my head into the walls to reach for the objects. The teleportation method of movement was somewhat annoying to me as I prefer locomotion controls. Another issue was the input method for keypads/code locks. Hovering your laser over the numbers or arrows to input codes also automatically inputs the select command which means as long as you hover over the input it will very quickly and automatically input over and over leading to difficulties with inputing the numbers or letters you want.
The game is a nicely made escape the room type genre, but some of the technical issues still need to be fixed in order for me to reccomend it to anyone.

Promising game. Very frustrating. 1st playthrough a vital piece of a puzzle dropped through the floor. Unable to continue. Restart. Second playthrough, dropped another vital piece of a puzzle which I could see on the floor, but couldn't pick up because it was below the floor parameters Steam had set for VR. Restart. Third playthrough. Must keep this vital thing, brought it up to my face to look closely at it, and it pinged off god knows where. There will be no fourth playthrough.
This game is broken, and life is too short for this kind of nonsense. Avoid.

I had actually bought this game for .89 cents back in the Steam Halloween Sale 2017. I didn't get around to playing it until now. As it turns out, this was among my best purchases. I bought too many horrible games during that sale and wasted more money than I'd like to admit.
However, this game is not perfect. It's just bargain-priced for the content, if you can forgive the overall clunkiness. There are two separate puzzle rooms to select at the main menu. There's a promise of 2 more puzzle rooms coming but who knows if that'll be extra or not.
You teleport around 2 pretty large areas with two different stories, each have a horror/creepy theme. The graphics are decent and more importantly the game runs smoothly. The main problem is the teleportation is not all that smooth and you can't decide which way to face so you have to turn IRL to get some objects. And grabbing items/ entering codes is just way too clunky.
I didn't have any items disappear but other reviewers have complained about that. THe issue I had was items dropping to the floor constantly. Seemed like it was maybe invisible walls when it came to the items I was carrying that caused them to be knocked out of my hands. I was able to easily pick items from the ground so at least that wasn't any issue. I did notice items clipping through walls constantly. Physics were just off for several things. Entering codes was probably my biggest pet peeve. It was a test in patience.
I found the puzzles to be obtuse. Mainly looking for items and then figuring out how to use them to solve the puzzle. Usually didn't make sense in how solving this puzzle lead to opening a door or locked container, but whatever. I did find the puzzles to be challenging. All in all, I think it's great value for .99 cents.
Rate 7/10. Could be better, but with such a low price, I think we can forgive the clunkiness with the amount of content it has. These are not easy to solve, but not impossible.
I can't say I recommend this game in its current state. Leaning over objects like tables pushes you backwards, which is very nauseating/disorienting. The game also really needs an inventory system, and an easier way of holding objects for long periods. Obviosuly it is a work in progress, and the dev appears to be learning as they go. I will continue to check out future updates, and will change my review accordingly if improvements are made.
Wife and I played through the first room. Was enjoyable. Would like to play more rooms!
As other reviews mention, dropping things due to collisions, things that may disappear. It can be avoided if you play carefully, but its something that should be fixed in the future. It is by the way the exact same problems we had with the other escape room game called Abode (also a cool game).
Besides mentioned bugs, all I am left with is a feeling of wanting more, which is a good thing.
At 0.99€ its worth it even for the one room.
Has some cool puzzle ideas that had me stumped for a while. So far only one puzzle room and will greatly benifit with more as the puzzles aren't dynamic (same codes every time you play a particular room). I like the serial killer basement location but i wont recommend it until theres more content. Perhaps a different basement each for notorius real world serial killers and use historical facts as hints to solve puzzles.

First off I must say that this game is what it appears right off the back from the trailer; simplistic, low-res graphics and rather short. Despite that however, this game was extremely fun. Just finished playing through my first run-through with 3 minutes left to go... Yeah I suck lol. One thing that bothered me and slowed down my progress completely was the fact that the controls were a bit wonky with the environment. When carrying pictures over to a table in order to organize them, they would either slip out of my hands mid-teleporting or when the object collides with another in-game, static-rendered object. Other than that, the puzzles were in fact quite challenging and surely time consuming. I would like to see even more rooms expanded and not just 2 rooms to house 3-4 puzles. If this first level contained maybe 3 or even 4 rooms with the puzzles spread out, that would have been absolutely great! Another note would be to expand the variety of objects needed to solve said puzzles. Its obvious that keys open locks, puzzles are either number or word answers, and the only real objects that played a big role in this were framed portraits of victims and projector slides. There could be so so much more that could be included to make the a killer game. Overall, its worth the $1.00 purchase for a quick, fun, brain deceiving puzzle game. I greatly look forward to future levels and further updates!
Constricted VR is a new entry into the Escape Room genre, and shows promise for being a pretty good one for a very attractive price. At the time of this review, only one room (out of four planned "main" ones) is available to play. The first room is on a 30-minute timer, and the puzzles within are primarily focused on decoding names and numbers, as opposed to physics or logic-based puzzles. I'd like to see more variety in the future, but it was still a fun and satisfying to complete. I actually ran out of time on my first go, all-in-all taking me about 45 minutes to finish.
In terms of polish, Constricted is a little rough in areas, with fairly basic visuals and very little in the way of sound design. I'll preface this by saying that I'm using a Rift + Touch, but item interaction was pretty touchy (no pun intended) at times. Interacting with the alphabet and number pads was difficult, with accidental button presses occurring frequently. Picking up objects often took several attempts, where they either wouldn't pick up, or they'd get hung up on the surrounding geometry. Locomotion-wise, Constricted uses teleportation, which is fine by me, though the option for traditional locomotion would be nice too. I'd like to at least see the interaction controls polished up before leaving early access, but it's still playable as-is.
Despite a few shortcomings, I still wholeheartedly recommend Contricted to anyone who is a fan of escape rooms, and wants to see more of them in the future. Even if the current room was the only one ever released, it's an absolute no-brainer for only $1, and a fantastic value considering there's three more to come for no extra charge!
While other escape room games might be more polished, I also consider them too pricey, with how short they are and how little replay value there is. Constricted VR strikes the balance of offering the escape room gameplay a lot of us VR players crave, and does so at a price we can't refuse. I'm excited to see how this game progresses, and to play the new content in the coming months!

Innovative escape game in the room, since you live it in first person by being virtual reality. The puzzles are entertaining, and you look in every part of the room to find everything you need to win. Very good price, for this great game.
Fun game, interesting mechanics on top of very creepy atmosphere makes for quite the immersive playthrough.
