Really fun if you enjoy doomer shooters.
Absolute Glory and Madness for a boomer shoter! Gorgeous effects, graphics and gameplay, super happy with it for now!
Messy Doom Eternal
Makes my adhd very happy
Thank you for actually getting it right and having the protag spit out one liners.
100/100 Don't bother getting cultic because this is the real game you need.
An overwhelmingly flashy retro shooter with RPG elements, a lot of style, and full of cool ideas.
There's more to that description but I think it gets the gist of how this plays, frenetic gameplay, an incredibly amount of weapons to choose, very fun abilities to use, a pretty constant progress, SO MANY ENEMIES AND MAPS it's almost unbelievable, and more akin to the genre.
I really want to emphasize the content, each time you move from level to level, it let's you choose which will be the next boss, making it easy to have different playthroughs each time.
Now the complicated part, I think the bosses are... horrible? even on normal most of them are very tanky and with "gimmicks" that don't make the fights interesting but just longer. In the later levels it just throws you soooo many enemies, so the only options is to either be "strategic" with cheesing them or just tank their millions of bullets while you heal.
Also, just like other reviews say, it's too chaotic and blindly, with many effects, explosions, text, etc. that doesn't let you see anything (some weapons are kind of unusable because the bullet come out from your eyes instead of the weapon, almost headache-inducing). It's weird to say this but I really recommend deactivating these effects from the settings (like kill text, excessive blood, and others) and lowering the camera shaking, to make it more bearable at least.
I remember playing the early access and thinking it was a cool, and now it's even more cooler, but with more things that tone down the experience. It's enjoyable and definitely different from the usual of the genre, so I recommend to try it.
Slashy
Love this game, super weird and off the wall. I think it has some good mechanics, fun to play for a few minutes while on break.
Fast and stylish shooter made on Unity, which does not prevent it from working stably during most of the gameplay. MOST OF IT. Sometimes the stereo sound can transform into a historical recording from the 19th century. I also experienced an authentic 21 fps on water levels with my rtx 3080. Game contains a huge amount of pumped-up men with naked torsos who run and shout at the main character, he just eats them, this game suffers from a lack of homoerotic content.
Why is the audio so muffled? it's borderline unplayable, my ears are bleeding.
10/10 best dating sim I ever played
It's a bit janky and the enemies have too much health on the default difficulty, but it has a lot of personality and a really unique style. I'd recommend if you're looking for a wacky retro shooter.
My favorite part was when Deer said
"It's Devilating time"
and Devilated all over the place.
10/10 Fever dream of a game. Gonna come back for NG+.
It's not really a "boomer shooter" or classic FPS, it's more like a mix between Borderlands and Bethesda's Doom games. It's worth playing for the fast, frenetic action if you can get past the wonky presentation, failed attempts at humor and completely uneven combat scaling.
Pros:
- A lot of content. Completing the stage gives you the option to pick from one of two stages which has a completely unique boss fight. Playing through the game a second time is a completely different experience because the levels and bosses are totally different if you take the alternate path
- Combat is like Doom (2016). A lot of run and gun action with powerups like a hook to grab enemies (Like in Doom Eternal), slow motion and freezing with ice
- Bodies pile up like mad and the soundtrack is awesome, so you get into that bloodthirsty frenzy as you obliterate everything onscreen
- Every boss has phases, weak points, etc. so there is a lot to figure out
- Tons of weapons and a ranking system that determines how much bonus gold you get. There's a bit of strategy in deciding which of the weapons you are going to use
- Mobility and special moves. If you hit shift+jump at just the right time you can do a high jump, and pair that with a double jump and then glide around the map. The dash ability is awesome and really makes you play strategically since you can die so easily
- Tons of gore and explosions, maybe beats Serious Sam for the biggest bodycount in a full 3D FPS game.
Cons:
- Ammo system is kind of a mess. Expect to keep extra guns in your inventory to proceed
- Tons of cheap one-hit kills and the damage boxes on the projectiles are sometimes unavoidable. Best practice is to just try to stay away from everything. It's a good thing that the game is hard, but sometimes you will die for no reason
- There's one boss that I had to retry about fifty times because he one-hit kills you and I found it super annoying (The antichrist boss)
- This game's references are random, nonsensical and unfunny. The main character's name is Deer or something so there are deer-related puns all over the walls- it's really nonsense. Every time you kill in an enemy there's a random statement but there's no cohesion or sense to what it means or why it is happening
- Ammo is scarce and you need money to buy powerups so expect to make a lot of risky maneuvers with melee to survive. Ammo pickups barely give you anything so you have to refill at shops
- End-game content scales to basically player solely using explosive weapons and dumping money in the shop to refill explosive weapons
Overall:
Much better than your average FPS game- it has a bumpy start but if you like challenging FPS games and stick with it you will probably find it to be a bit of a hidden gem, or at least something that's probably overlooked because of the unappealing aesthetic. This isn't a game made by one person, a whole team worked on it and it gives you 30-40 hours of content if you want to drill through all of it.
I really wanted to like this game but the more I played it the further from liking it I got. I have played many "boomer shooters", they are my absolute favorite type of game to play. This one on the other hand is probably the most frustrating one by far. It started off pretty good, and by that I mean the first level, then came the second and it was more or less the same as the first, same with the third, fourth, fifth and so on for the entire game. I have no idea how many levels you have to beat to reach the final one but I lost count because it was such a slog(at least 15). There is graffiti sprinkled throughout the game and it feels Ai generated because it rarely makes no sense. Every level is basically the same, you have to find 4 keys and open 4 doors, rinse and repeat, the same enemies will swarm you over and over again until your screen is covered in a blinding mess of projectiles and bloody gibs and you can't tell where you are or what's going on. At the end of each level is a boss, they are usually moving erratically and will shoot a million projectiles at you and it will once again be impossible to focus on anything. Sometimes you die and you will have no idea what killed you or from where because the visuals are so over the top, this makes the game extremely exhausting to play. I powered through to the final boss, probably because I had some hope and wanted my moneys worth but oh boy was it not fun, I had to force myself to go through every level up until the final boss. The first phase is easy but very slow, second can do a lot of burst damage but isn't too bad and the third one, like everything else in this game, absolutely spams you with projectiles, chips away your health very quickly and is a bullet sponge like nothing else. I have died to this boss 4 times, it may not sound like much but I am absolutely drained, it's just not fun and I can't be bothered to go through all the sluggish phases of this boss again just to die to some cheap projectile spam attack.
I was watching this during its Early Access and alot has changed for the better!
It has a dedicated smoke and one liner button. While you play a delightfully over the top boomer shooter where you can eat everything you kill. Skills have amusing little cutscenes when you put points into them which is delightful to say the least.
My only issue in the time i played it was due to the over the top visuals and speed you'll be going its easy to miss smaller enemies while they wail on you. But the game is very checkpoint generous sooooo i think its all good.
Our lord and saviour giani is voice acting this
Best 10 dollars of my life since fallen aces
Buy now.
Pros :
- Gianni one-liners
Cons:
- Game feels like its the equivalent of being a hobo hooked on LSD lost in a mall and all you got to defend yourself against the super-police coming after your ass is a Nerf Gun laced with some thumb tacks
- There is so much visual noise and effects its hard as shit to see what you are shooting at. Some of the guns have super-blinding muzzle flares while the ingame bloom kicks into +300 with text on screen every time an enemy dies, meaning half the time you are wasting ammo shooting blindly as the game flashbangs your retinas
- Enemy animations appear super glitchy at times, often spazzing between a run and an attack animation so they'll run and take a good second to stare at you before attacking. Shooting enemies also fire in incoherent patterns that sometimes dont match the direction they are pointing their weapon at
- There is only 1 looping ambient music track that lasts around 15 seconds and it abruptly cuts
- Why is the audio so fucking muffled?
I cannot stop playing this game so much shooting, stabbing and blowing up shit to quit playing so do i need io say anything more!
The game is great, feels like an arena shooter borderlands with extremely over the top ragdolls, the powers are also a lot of fun to use, but just a tip, increase the fov to 110 or 115 or you wont know whats going on when you find a ton of tiny spiders in a level.
This is a really strange boomer shooter akin to Murder Squad graphically. I can see slightly where they were going with it, but it's just not for me. The biggest thing that took me out of the game is the graffiti assets on the walls that say nonsense, it almost makes it feel like half of the art is AI generated.
You know those games that nobody talks about, yet you play it based on a few other Steam reviews that claim its a gem?
All those reviews on here are correct: This game rules. Doom meets borderlands meets DMC. It's frantic yet calculated, chaotic yet smooth. God damn what a game.
Sadly I can't recommend this game due to 1 striking issue;
The visuals are so extremely over the top, that in EVERY SINGLE COMBAT SITUATION, it's almost impossible, to read any visual cues.
There's so much fx and stuff going on at all times, that you don't see, if the enemys in front of you, are already dead or not.
This makes the game very exhausting to play.
Compare this to a game like Doom Eternal: In that game, there is also a lot going on in combat, but due to intelligent "color-coding" of item drops, even when playing on the highest difficulty, it's always extremely easy, to read, what exactly is going on, at all times.
This is also the reason, that kinda ruined Prodeus for me.
It's just not fun, having to use all your focus, just to comprehend, what's going on.
The game is amazing, like its not even made in Unity. I didnt have this much fun playing a game for a long while, though my game would crash after using LMB to start the game after a loading screen (yes, i have the system requierements). 9.5/10, would reccomend, if you like something like Ultrakill or Doom
Worth it's weight in gold. Love the movement, enemies, weapons, maps, bosses, and ofcourse the music.
Great addition to my game collection for sure. As a 30 year old, this game scratches my boomer shooter itch.
THIS GAME IS THE MOST UNDERRATED GAME IVE EVER SEEN

To best describe this game briefly:
It's a well-designed, ultra-violent, fast-paced kill fest.
Player control is responsive and smooth, weapon selection is very quick. The game is very easy to learn, if it moves, kill it!
Multiple enemies with varied attacks, they can attack from short, medium and long range, sometimes at the same time.
Bosses to defeat at the end of each area, once you beat the boss, you can use their weapons against your enemies, they are limited, but if you're facing a lot of high damage enemies they can be very useful and save your life.
Multiple save points during a level. You pick up gold coins during a level, these can be used at a trader to buy and sell weapons, replenish your ammo, health, etc.
You also gain ability points once a boss has been defeated, these can allow you to reach higher areas, great for secret areas, or attack your enemies with these extra abilities.
Fun game!
Why does the doom slayer not simply eat the demons ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the endless run of A grade passion project boomer shooters continues.
Took me a bit to get used to the sheer speed of the game, but once you get in the flow, it's simply wonderful, not to mention delightfully brutal. The "RPG elements" are integrated seamlessly and add just that little bit extra.
I usually do not care about "Ranks", but with Devilated, I started to take anything below A personally.
What a game.
Couldn't rebind grenade to middle mouse button. 0/10
Only a short bit in, but this game is an utter gem. PLEASE pick it up.
When I saw this game on steam the day it came out, I thought: "This game looks awesome". I bought it, and it is... Who would've thought?

Devilated is a super fun new released ultraviolent RPG old-school shooter with mountains of violence and hordes of demons. Starting in Devilated, you’re greeted with a comic-style cinematic that explains your character’s story about being trapped, tortured, and nearly beaten to death. It also explains your only goal in the game: find a way out of what seems to be an ancient labyrinth. You start your journey in a cell surrounded by corpses. Some of them are chained to the walls and ceilings, while others are sprawled out on the ground. You start off with no weapons, and you only have your bare fists at first. You’ll eventually find your first weapon, a sword called Gladio. This also opens up a more fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay. With your sword in hand, you’ll eventually find grenades and a handgun, giving you the option of going for ranged fire as well. The enemies in Devilated have unique designs, abilities, and even fighting styles. Some enemies will charge right at you, while others will shoot from a distance. As for the gameplay, moving around, dashing, shooting, and slashing is smooth. The levels and environmental designs are good, and it looks like they took a lot of inspiration from the Serious Sam games.
The game is incredibly similar to releases like Cultic and Doom, but man, it is fun to play. It has various difficulties so those familiar with the franchise can increase it, as well as decrease it for those new to the genre. 10/10.
SO MUCH GOING ON I CAN'T SEE SHIT...THAT MEANS IT'S AWESOME
Where was this game?
good game, cool mechanics and functions, but I can say that the longer you play, the less interest.
