Better than war thunder on ships
10/10 Great Game!!
amazingly fun break form my usual grinds. highly recommend when looking for something different to grind for a bit.
Great game. Would recommend. Tactical slow motion chess. Great graphics.
Overall, I find this to be a fun game to play allowing one to experience naval combat from the 1900s to around just after WWII in a semi arcade like manor. The ships themselves look wonderful and the battles are really enjoyable. There is a great collection of ships both historical and those that were one in the design phase to play with. There is also a wide set of match types for you to play in.
There are some engine quirks that get annoying but become less so once you do some historical digging. A prime example of this is shell dispersion. I've gotten frustrated at what seemed like a perfect shot getting reduced to 2 shells out of 12 landing on the enemy ship. I then looked things up historically at a crack gun crew in WWII with computer assisted targeting considered a 10% hit ratio to be amazing.
Most of the problems with the game in matches in my personal opinion have to do with the players and not the game itself. Yes this is a game about amazing and cool ships. But that also means this is a game about naval combat. There are too many players that think they should be able to lone wolf it without being sunk quickly. Naval combat has almost always been about fighting as a FLEET to cover the weaknesses of each ship type. Another problem is I have had many matches lost because more of my team doesn't know what they are doing or won't play to the mission than the other team.
If you want to play I would know what each ship type is for and that it WILL take time to get good at each class:
Carrier- scout ahead and pick apart any ship stupid enough to lone wolf it. Gets lots of hate from other players who want to pretend that air power in naval combat isn't a thing. Enemy finds your ship you are cooked
Battleship- this is the high burst damage and tank of the game. fun to play but many of its players in random don't want to do their jobs as damage sponges
Cruiser- this is the jack of all trades ship. need someone who can fill in any role quickly this is your man.
Destroyer- A very useful ship that is vital to wining the games by grabbing the objectives and spotting for everyone. requires some skill to play well. would get hate from the battleship players if Carriers and Subs didn't exist
Submarines- play similar to destroyers with more focus on sneak attacks. Gets lots of hate because a good sub player can alpha strike and then dive to escape detection even if that is historically what they did.
If you can ignore some of the comments in the chat at times this is a great game. I would also say that most of the players are friendly too. But you should be aware that this game takes time to get good at.

i like the way the ships level up
This game is a business, and not a good one.
It is challenging and frustrating and fun.
They REALLY try to make you spend money all the time, that being said, I do not feel like it is "pay to win".
Each ship has its limitations and challenges, the ship you are in limits you, so "twitch" has reduced effectiveness.
The higher tier the ships get, the more modern they are, so the more they can do and better they perform.
Very slow grind, which is both good and bad. Money can speed that up.
New operations has a heal zone. Very useful because the enemy ships just keep coming.
