OK so I was in the mood to play a dungeon crawler and I saw this sitting in my library. I have played lots of games from this genre and several as close as you're going to get to this one - Mary Skelter being my favourite I think. I can normally navigate my way around the usually pretty inscruitable systems of these games fine but this time - i just don't want to. If there was a mod that just changed all the menus so the what they did was a bit easier to parse, i'd probably recommend it but I am tired, my brain is tired and i cba to consult a guide on how to craft a basic sword.
So far it's a pretty good dungeon crawler. I love the idea of mixing main classes with sub classes.
Immediately better and more interesting than Operation Abyss
Still has a lot of the annoying support cast and stupid VN content, but, at least so far in the game, the story doesn't require you to know anything, despite appearing to occur within a year of the previous game, it's just orientation
Not really a vet of the DRPG/blobber genre, but I almost feel like I just have to recommend this one because of how it almost invalidates Abyss even existing
The only things that are worse
1) No English VA (not a huge issue, just back step)
2) Item names are translated like this is an NES/SNES era game where you had string length limitations, Abyss has Long Swords, Babel has Ln Swrds
I tried playing this on my steam deck and the game kept crashing right after the tutorial boss at the very start. I even un-installed and reinstalled the game twice.
