Okay, this is beautifully mindless. Surprisingly long game for drifting away to. Because it's based around limited number of moves it doesn't have that time pressure anxiety. And the flip mechanic means you end up flipping tiles mostly randomly, until you notice patterns emerging, or you start remembering what's on the side of the tiles you can't see.
At this money - if you like match 3, it's an easy recommend for me. Is it fun? ... no, not really but it's something to do, ain't it?
I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.
Button Tales is a nice little Match 3 polished gem that I would highly recommend.
First of all, have a nice day :D This is a little time consuming game you can waste your time in a very cosy way. I highly recommend it for Match 3 Gamers, who are looking for something new. You are collecting buttons (heavens, no sweets today) and the new thing is: you can switch them to the back side. This gives the game an additional kick when you think you may be stuck.
Give it a try, its super cute and feels cosy. In addition it has a little story being told when you have progress in the game. Sorry, have to hurry now, I haven´t completed it yet ;D
Have some cookies with me?
Iced Orange Cookies

1/2 teaspoon salt
ICING:
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Orange paste food coloring, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in orange juice and zest. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until edges begin to brown, 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. In a small bowl, combine icing ingredients until smooth; drizzle over cooled cookies.
Fun game for the price. Kept me interested to play to the end.
it's quite tricky match 3 game. i stopped playing at 17/21 (80%) achievement after 9 hours. the rest of achievement are doable but may take so much time to get them.
Button Tales is a Match-3 game. In this game you can switch the objects (buttons) on the grid like normal. Or you can flip buttons to their other side to match them with their adjacent buttons.
This mechanic is pretty unique, but it's also the downside of this game. It is totally random which kind of button you will get when you flip one. E.g.: A grey button can become green and another grey one can become red. And flipping buttons is needed to build the long chains that are required to finish many levels in the middle and late game.
In relaxed mode, you can skip levels, but it doesn't help you with that mechanic. It'll take ages to build up long chains casually. So the game is more or less about puzzling your way through the grid in normal mode
Love it! It is adorable and fun and amusing and challenging! I didn't expect a story line even...not even a twist: and voila -> you get both!!! Well animated and everything moves fantastically. The game makes you want to play it and helps you be immersed in it. At some point you will have to think...and why not anyway? And if you think the game was fun and "too easy" well...you can have fun with the Bonus stages. You must have elite skills or massive luck to actually beat those. O_O. Oh and the OST/Music stuffs is fun and doesn't get in the way. The push pins dropping sounds are hilarious! Thank you for this fun and amusing game!!! :)))))))))))))))
A pleasant but challenging puzzle game, "Button Tales" provides a hybrid of Concentration and traditional Match-3 gameplay. There are over a hundred levels, with some of the later ones getting pretty darn tricky! There's no time limit or limit to the number of times you can flip (as opposed to swap) tiles, plus the game gives you abilities to clear tiles and obstacles that recharge over time, so with enough patience, you'll e able to get through all the levels. Graphics and sound are nice and cheerful. My only complaint would be that a couple of buttons/gems in certain levels look too similar, but that could just be because I'm color blind.
With only a few cutscenes, the plot is pretty minimal, but the ending is weird and cute. The game is suited to both accomplished puzzle solvers and novices, though later levels may try the patience of the latter. A fun, well-programmed title good for hours of gameplay and with just enough of a twist.
Simple story, beautiful drawing. I really enjoyed playing this game. I got all the achievements before I finished the game but I still continue playing it and re-play those levels that have less than 3 stars and also additional levels unlocked after I finished the game. The achievements seem challenging but as you keep playing the levels, you will know how to plan strategically to get the specific achievement. Some levels are meant to achieve certain achievements if you play it well. I enjoy an unusual match 3 game which is not too easy but also not too hard. Based from the ending, is there a plan to have a second episode in the future?
A delightful twist on the traditional match-3 game, Button Tales allows you to flip your buttons for more match opportunities. The requirements to solve each level go from easy to challenging to really tricky. I've now played over 200 hours of Button Tales, giving myself challenges and trying all the configurations. Well worth the tiny price, especially considering how much more game time I've gotten from it compared to games that cost up to ten times as much. I highly recommend Button Tales!
Button tales is a 3 match game with a very tedious, time consuming, flipping mechanic added. Most 3 match veterans who are use to a fast, timed, and highly animated, ear and eye spectacle, where every match you make rewards you with a Chinese New Year celebration, might be slightly disappointed here.
Out of the 100 levels on offer, the first 25 or so offers very little in the way of strategy. Level completion is either making the necessary shape match requirements or getting a gem to fall to the bottom of the screen. Since three star completion is based on using limited moves, it is crucial you rely more on the 'luck' based flipping mechanic which carries a no cost to your total number of allocated moves. Whereas making a match based on swiped action does cost you.
You are also granted 5 power-ups which also do not cost you in moves and which you will be relying heavily on in later chapters. Powers consist of acid taking out one tile completely, lightning which randomly strikes a number of tiles, scissors which destroy a nine block square of locked cobweb blocks, hammer which destroy a nine block square of blocks not protected by cobwebs and finally wool which changes the entire board for a new one of matching button shapes and colours.
The chalk boarded story is regarding a button world being all shook up and the protagonist venturing forth to find the cause of his damaged world. The story is displayed through a handful of animations evenly spread throughout the board. The ending which laughably tries to deliver a profound shock twist, like a three year old trying to tell you what the meaning of life is all about.
The game is extremely easy to 100% in achievements with only a few requiring a bit of forethought that being a ‘tactician’ requiring you to make 20 x 4 matches in a row and one achievement requiring you to orchestrate a tricky 8 match. An additional 7 bonus levels are unlockable for those patient enough to earn a 3 star rating on all 100 levels. Some of these bonus levels cleverly display the need of a strategy with isolated tiles, heavy matching requirements and difficult position squares. Unfortunately there is no further reward when you obtain a three star rating on all these bonus levels other than the fact and knowledge that you have done so.
In truth, i don't mind this developer. His games often grow on me when I'm patient enough to see them through. He has a unique flair and while he doesn't always perfectly strike the nail on the head, he is learning and his gaming carpentry is looking more and more competent with each work. However he really needs to open up more, work on his customer appeal, his webpage...
http://anvate.com/
and his youtube channel...

Both lack antidotes to his personal trek as an indie developer for us to endear to. Hence we only get to see a very limited keyhole vision of the computer button world that he is living in, in comparison to our own wide world. Shock twist back at you bro!!!

This is probably my second favorite match-3 game after 4 Elements. I really like the gameplay, the art design, the music, and the overall vibe. Like 4 Elements, it is just challenging enough to hold your interest without becoming frustrating. I played it all the way through twice and thorougly enjoyed getting all the achievements. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a fun, relaxing casual game.
I absolutely adore this game. It's like a lot of other matching puzzle games with the Bejeweled basics, but is unique in its own way. I really like that you don't have to pay for power-ups (with real money or in-game currency) unlike Bubble Witch or Candy Crush. The animations/graphics are simplistic but appealing. I love the soundtrack and would recommened you buy the bundle. I'm really impressed with this title, considering it's a puzzle game; but I have to say that the replay value is extremely high.
8/10
This was on sale and I had money to burn. I believe I backed this on Greenlight, however since that was removed I can't fully verify.
It's a nice casul, than challenging, match-3 game. The goals difficulty per level increase the further you go, sometimes decreases for a breather.
The story is very interesting. It may seem generic, fair comment to make, but when you get to the end it's rather philisophical. I won't spoil it, otherwise the meaning will be lost.
If you're aiming to 3 Star every level, however optional, you're in for a tough challenge that requires patience and strategy.
Achievements are mostly easy, at least two require some effort (check the discussions forums for tips) while the rest require some luck or as you progress in the game.
I liked the visuals, music was subtle and looped smoothly, and the puzzles were challenging and fun. If you're looking for a fun match-3 or something to kill time, pick this up, sale or not.

Unspectacular 3-Match-Game with 99 Levels.
Yes, I like the twist of switching sides of the Buttons like a coin.
The Buttons itself look quite uncool and not very rememberable if you ask me (they change around Level 77 but somehow in Candy Crush the items look better)
Many Levels, where later Levels poses different challenges, such as achieving a minimum score ore sequences, bring diamonds to the bottom of the board, special spaces that have their own unique rules, such as spaces covered with wood that must be cleared by making a match on that space.
Game is balanced - nevertheless some Levels are quite hard and frustrating. Overall the Levels are fun, variate and are diversified.
Took me about 30h to complete all Levels 3 Star.
Button Tales is a cute match game with a twist, you flip the pieces to get matches. You also have to rebuild your village which was damaged in an attack. There are two modes: Relaxer and Normal with lots of levels. Graphics are beautiful and cartoonish. Soundtrack is good. I highly recommend this game to anyone who love casual, relaxing, match games. 10/10. Good job Devs.
Nice game. Now this game is my favorite Match 3.
Button Tales is a unique and innovative take on Match3. Tiles are double-sided and can individually be flipped over to reveal another image. This game gets challenging early on and requires thought and strategic planning. Play either with limited or unlimited moves. For an extra challenge, go for the achievements as well! I love this game & can't stop playing )
Folks, don't be fooled by the kiddie and cartoony opening! I ignored this game because I thought it was a kid's game. Not even close! It gets very challenging very quickly if you play in normal mode. I am very much enjoying it. This will not be an easy game, particularly if you want 3 stars. However, it is very entertaining and may require some strategic planning and rethinking.
This is a nice Match 3 with a unique feature: the tiles (buttons) are double-sided and can be flipped to reveal a different image. The levels are UNTIMED with limited moves, goals to complete and 3 stars to achieve. If you want to get 3 stars, complete the level in as few moves as possible. A great feature here is that YOU DO NOT LOSE A MOVE IF FLIPPING TILES.
A pinned tile cannot be flipped. Later, the pins will also jump around. It's so funny! Also you'll earn money to repair damaged buildings and there are additional achievements to meet.
