As Rosemary, you'll brave fierce beasts and difficult terrain, not to mention the fact that your traveling companion can be a royal pain. But that's okay! Because you're brave and noble and not-at-all distracted by the handsome guy you're bound to protect. You've got the armor, you've got the sword, and you're all ready for a fairytale romance: if the snowstorms and bone-chilling winds don't get in the way.
And maybe these princes aren't quite as charming as you expected...
Rose of Winter is a charming visual novel with adventure, romance, and heartbreak. Choose one of four princes to take on your adventure, and make decisions to unlock multiple endings. Featuring an adorable story and art by Magnolia Pearl, Aatmaja Pandya, and Victoria Grace Elliot, plus music by Toby Fox, Rose of Winter is ready to sweep you off your feet!

Very cute stories with charming art and music.
Rose of Winter is an Otome Visual Novel with multiple endings.
This game has great characters that have a lot of variety to them, both in personality and physiques. I wouldn't consider this a 'dating game' really, but it's a good VN nevertheless. You are training to become a knight and you find yourself in a tavern, having four potential princes to escort through Mount Needle. All four routes are obviously worth doing, each unique and great on their own, even if the main concept of going through a snow/surviving in a cave/fighting/reaching the city is repeated in each routes.
The choices could have a bit more impact and the endings could definitely have been longer, but the game was still enjoyable nonetheless. One of the endings in particular was really nuanced.
As far as the art goes, it is alright... It's charming and cute for sure, but the landscapes are very detailed whereas the leopard and the dragon are uh... a lot simpler in design? It is quite easy to tell that multiple artists with different art styles worked on this game. It comes to no surprise that the music of Rose of Winter is great... it's composed by Toby Fox (the composer of Undertale and Deltarune.) I have to say that while the OST is great, there aren't enough songs and some of them aren't used optimally with what's happening in the story.
As far the as the cons goes, well hunting for the endings is never a fun task (honestly it was just picking the opposite options from the first playthrough, but yeah.) The only noticeable bug I've experienced is that skipping dialogues overlapped 2-3 songs at once, that was quite chaotic and ear blasting! Other than that I don't really have any other negative comments about the game, it's well made.
Overall, a charming 3~ hours long Visual Novel game with great characters and music. Recommended from me.
although the game is super cute, unless you get it on sale i can't recommend. i beat the entire game in 0.8 hours, and the only reason this didn't get returned was it was too late. cute for a teenager/kid probably! but too simple for me
So extremely cute! Fun, short routes about climbing a snowy mountain with a cute guy. Rosemary is a delightful, wholesome, and relatable MC and the male leads are all interesting, generally fun, and sometimes amusingly obnoxious (Personal ranking: Tirune > Crow > Kuya > Falkner) Each route is quite short and easy to complete in an evening, the story moves fast, but the pacing is fine given how short it is. Overall a cozy and sweet game, especially for a cold winter evening! I played a couple routes with my partner, and it was fun to laugh at the shenanigans together.
It's not my style. I like cozy games but this one seemed low quality story wise and playing mechanics wise. this is not an awful game, just not what I expected.
This game is worth the 73 cents I paid for it. I wouldn't have been mad buying it at a lesser discount either really. I honestly feel a little bad for having paid so little for it.
If you're on the fence consider whether it could possibly be bad enough to not be worth 73 cents, and understand that the answer is "no"
