Love this series
This is a good search and find game but it can be frustrating due to a design 'glitch' that isn't found on the Nintendo version. Clicking on the objects found prompts the object to move to display in the middle of the screen. While this is happening, it disables the cursor until the found object leaves the screen. It doesn't stop the clock and uses several seconds per move. The Nintendo version of this game doesn't have this problem.
It was a relaxing game, good for anxiety.
Me and my mom would sit around and play this together when I was a kid. Present day to have this on steam is truly a joy. Thank you for the memories Hidden Expedition.
One of the first ever games I played, so I was delighted when I found it again on Steam!
Love, Love, Love this Game! This game got me into Hidden Object, Seek Find Games. The music set the tone for the creepiness of searching through a sunken derelict ship. Being a history buff I ate up the historical facts and photos. To me it was like looking into the past to solve an unsolved mystery.
Fun
Caveat emptor is what comes to my mind on these games.
This is a hidden object game, and if you are looking for a hidden object game, this might work for you.
They are high quality hidden object puzzles and are fun to do...
BUT
(My issues with these games)
1. As a casual game, having a countdown timer makes them less "casual" than they should be. It takes the fun out of trying to find the hidden objects, makes the player rush through the puzzles, and they miss the details and effort that went into the graphics. It wouldn't be that big of an issue but when you run out of time, you have to start over and do all the hidden object puzzles in the current section over to advance the story.
2. Every game starting in full-screen mode is also irritating. I understand that these games are old (from 2007 on), but full-screen 800x600 was crazy even back in 2007. (NOTE: Not all of the games are 800x600. the newer games (post 2012) are 16x9 resolution)
3. I don't know why these games don't close but when you "quit" the game keeps "running" according to Steam. This isn't a deal-breaker but irritating.
Overall, I keep thinking about Caveat emptor and how I should have played this game before I picked up the rest of the "Hidden Expedition" titles or the "Mystery Case Files."
Thankfully, I got them on sale.
Summary:
Beautiful graphics and artwork.
High quality audio.
Timed "casual" game
The game play (timers) ruined these games for me.
I like to play this while on vc with friends on Discord, we all look together for the listed objects and the hidden gems in each level. It's a very good time all around. There's also little puzzles or extra searches at the end of dives which sometimes have very funny stories attached, like a "cooking thriller" novel or a duck clock. The Titanic theme is very well executed as well, which is what originally drew me to this game as a kid. 10/10, would recommend, as both a single player game, and as a discord party game.
welp i'm gonna drown
Old game, but cool for a hidden objects game.
Have a lot of nostalgia for this game cause i played it with my grandpa as a kid.
Has a great music score behind it, and relatively challenging hidden item/puzzles to encounter!
This is one of the earlier Hidden Object Games, coming out in 2006. Very basic and pretty much a copy of Mystery case files formula but with out the humor. This one has Titanic fun facts instead. The 14 levels consist of 2-3 HOG scenes and a silohuette find or a jigsaw puzzle picture to finish off the level. The game is not difficult but the levels are timed with no way to change that, in case you are a casual player. There's no dialog and only one music track, which is good but repetitive. I wish these games had some sort of mini manual to explain features. After I completed the game I found out that the gems you find do something, there are hidden air tanks, and there may have been combo bonuses. Would have been nice to have those explained at the start. I give the game a recommend but if I were grading I would give it a C for average.
This is a fun little hidden object game to pass time with.
I really enjoy the Hidden Expedition series. This is the #1 game of the timeline and it is a little old.
The graphics and the way of playing are ofcourse not of this time but it's nice to have the game in order to play the full timeline of Hidden Expedition games.
I wouldn't recommend it for the experience but i would recommend it if you want to play the full storyline of Hidden Expedition games.
This is an old-school hidden-object game. There is limited plot, and you pretty much go to different locations to find the objects. You have a time limit to visit a certain number of locations in a dive to retrieve items, as well as deal with a wrap-up for each dive. Using hints will cause you to lose some of that time.
Would suggest getting this on discount and in the bundle.
I paid good money for this game and now it wont let me play on my computer, thats not right...............
Just another typical hidden object puzzle game. Only this one is much more challenging (ex: time limit) than the ones I played in the past. Most certainly recommend this to any puzzle solver looking for a more intimidating challenge.
It was a fun game, and if you like hidden object games you will probably enjoy it. However it is jaw-droppingly short, and there is no plot. Expensive for what it was.
