UPDATE THE GAME FOR QUEST 3 or get steam to auto emulate older controllers and headsets to make all games just work!
Controls aren't working. Can't play.
Meta Quest 3.
i am sure i will like the game. when i connect in VR it doesnt see my controllers . i relize its an old problem but i am new to this. i read you have to do some thing to make it run in windows 7any help will be great i am running windows 11 its a low end gaming pc it playes above and beyond ok thanks
The game looks amazing but for me it just doesn’t have enough action
this was a masterpiece - only takeaway is it required a little modding to get it to work with the quest 3 and the game was a little short, maybe an hour, but all in all goated game
Batman: Arkham VR confronts you with the very nightmare Batman fears: Joker overpowering his mind. While this does not fully meet expectations, it is still a well-crafted experience for what it is. It does reuse assets from Batman: Arkham Knight, which means it lacks its own charm. However, considering this was a tech demo created years ago, when Virtual Reality lacked a defined standard of development, we should cut it some slack.
Personally, the short duration makes it easy to revisit and enjoy being Batman. Although gliding through Gotham and fighting thugs would be exciting, this was designed for a broader audience, and not everyone could handle the motion sickness. With that in mind, we should appreciate the limitations and praise the areas where they truly excelled.
Will not give a good review until they fix the controller problem for Oculus 3. I'm not jumping through hoops and altering files or any other crap to make my controllers work. Fix it so I can just fire up the game and play.
Not the game I was expecting. Hoping for some Batman Action but only got detective puzzles. I don’t consider this a Batman game. Asked for a refund but I had it long than two weeks, I guess I paid around $7 for 46 minutes of meh!
Bought the game and asked for a refund unfortunately.,
The game promises a lot but fails miserably to deliver.
You can finish this "short story" in 30 minutes or less and basically it's just clicking on specific stuff to unfold the non-existing gameplay.
I believ that this is a draft of what it can be done for a VR Batman game.
Who knows what the future holds.
Control is just terrible
Moving via teleport only
Long time black screen between teleports ( a have 64 RAM and can store whole game in OS cache multiple times !)
Not a worst idea but terrible implementation
PS
With Meta Quest 3 works via Meta Link only !
This is not the same game as Arkham Shadow. A puzzle game with no fighting. It's only an hour long, and the story is so, so stupid. They went with the "grittier is better" line of thinking. Ugh.
This is like barely an hour worth of content and it just feels like a Bruce Wayne nightmare trauma simulator. I don't want to spoil anything but they kill off major side characters and it's just like a thing happened. Now go scan their corpse and relive their deaths. ARE YOU HAVING FUN MR BRUCE?! haha whaaaaat?! Save your money, even if it's on sale.
It worked and played fine for me on my Quest 2 headset. I can't remember if I used Steam Link or Virtual Desktop Streamer. But both of those are always solid with my Quest 2.
If you're trying to go through the Oculus software you're doing it wrong. That ish is garbage.
Too short, get it While its on sale.
Be the Bat
Graphics/Performance
Runs perfectly on a GTX 3090 cranked up all the way. The graphics are really good, I could see the stubble on some of the characters' faces. It's basically the Arkham series assets but up close in VR.
Gameplay
This game is more of a detective game than action game. You'll toss a couple of batarangs, but that's the extent of the action. No punching or swinging of weapons. There are a few puzzles that you solve with the scanner tool and by piecing together clues.
Sound
The voice actor who does Batman is okay, but just sounds wrong. RIP Kevin Conroy. Mark Hamill is back again as Joker and does a stand-up job. Wish they had some of the iconic Batman theme music included, but the soundtrack they have is fine.
Final Thoughts
Don't buy this at full price! If it's a couple of bucks and you want about an hour of a really polished Batman experience, grab this and enjoy. It is mostly a tech demo, but I can see myself showing it off to friends who've not played much VR and are comic book fans.
1 bat-gauntleted thumb up!
game is not worth it at all please save yourself some money and time by avoiding it completely
my dick is longer than the duration of this game
This game is a hug to all Arkham series fans. The visuals are peak, controls are comfortable at least, mechanics are very simple but enjoyable.
It is not a classic Arkham gameplay tho, more like a Disneyland type of attraction for a Batman fan.
The game itself is a little bit on a short side in terms of length, however you will enjoy every minute of it. Most likely you will want to 100% the game after credits roll.
game doesn't work with quest 2. do not buy
controller problem
It's not working with Oculus quest 2, not detecting the controllers, and I bet it won't work with quest 3 too.
quest 3 not supported
takes forever to load so pain in the ass to troubleshoot
somehow also manages to stay OPEN after steam is closed, can't alt f4, have to kill the task in task manager
more of a tech demo but still fun to play/experience.
I like this game, but I am in no delusion that this is quality. this is a super quick, no real accomplishment VR experience that I picked up for $3 because its the only Arkham game i didn't play other than shadows and i wanted to play this one first. Anyways, this game is a scam at full price. No way in hell this is worth 20 bucks. Now on the other hand, $3 is a very reasonable price for this. Buy this on sale, please don't drop $19.99 on this. I'm looking forward to playing Shadows!
meh
It's more of a tech demo than a full game, but it's visually beautiful, and has an intriguing story. Just be warned that it's very short. Only 1 to 2 hours long max. So, better to get it when it's on sale.
graphics look good very fun to play
Very fun. Wish there was more gameplay, it was more like a movie. Still cool, wish it was longer tho
PLEASE READ

Too short, it doesn't even last an hour, I had problems with the controls and the subtitles are unreadable. I really wouldn't recommend it
Not what you would expect from a game like this
**FOR THOSE HAVING ISSUES ON QUEST**
No more janky workarounds needed, the controllers work perfectly when using the native STEAM LINK app from your quest. No re-setting compatibility mode, no re-binding controllers, when using Steam Link, it just works right out of the box. Super happy, as I'm waiting for the big November patch for Arkham Shadows before I dive back into that one (It's great, BTW, but want to wait until the developers get it even more tightened up!)
Having played the recent "Arkham Shadows", it's fun to go back and see how far VR has come in the 8 years since this games release. Short, but a fun little story; I just nabbed it on sale, and it's well worth it for 5 bucks, especially if you love the Arkham series. If you read this review on time, make sure you nab this game while on sale!
THE GAME ISINT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY DONT BUY!!!!
💋
The controllers for meta quest 3 doesn’t even work in the game🥲waste of money
Got it on sale for $4 and spent about 2hrs in-game. The actual story is maybe an 1-1.5hrs. Only buy on sale, otherwise, it's just not worth it. It does look good and is a cool VR experience if you can get it on sale.
I would only recommend this one on a sale. This is more of an "experience" than a game, and the asking price is kinda high for how long this is and what you do in it. It's mostly point and click from predefined locations, and includes a lot of long black screen transitions with sounds.
Took me 1.5 hours to beat + another 1.5 to get all the riddler trophies (of course there are riddler trophies) and the side achievements. What's annoying is that riddler trophies only appear after you beat the game, so you basically have to play through the "game" twice. Thankfully there's a chapter select with riddler checklist for each.
WARNING, screenshots are not like the actual game, you expect Batman to fight crime and save People? well you will get the opposide. Apperently people that hate Batmen decided to make a game about him for some reason.
But if you hate super heroes and heroes in general and you are a necrophile, you may like it.
So basically you watch one hero being killed by some guy then they force you to scan some realistic enough to be very disturbing bodies in body bags, then they give you some extremly stupid scene with Robin, whose writing in on whole new level of low. Then they flash some not connected scenes and that is it! WTF was that even? Definitely not a game and definitely not fun! Only thing that i can cal it is disturbing, dumb, and scam.
Ran flawlessly on PSVR2 for PCVR. I did get some stuttering initially, but for some reason making the focused window a different application solved that.
This is not a game, it's an ~experience~ very short but I genuinely enjoyed it. I bought when it was on sale for $3.99. Would not spend more on the experience.
good vr short game
if the game didn't recognize your quest2 controllers
- go to game's file location>binaries>win64
right click on game's exe>properties
then check run as admistrator and check run this game on compatibility mode then choose windows 7
that will make the game recognize it.

Buy a quest 3 and play Arkham shadow instead
ISNT A FIGHTING GAME! this is a detective game. a good game but dont think its a fighting batman game.
it is really good tho
While I was astonished at how short the game was, I still felt it was entertaining and done well. I paid $4 for this on sale and would recommend no one ever pay any more than that.
imagine not being able to fight as batman
I know a lot of people complain about the length of the game, and that its more of demo than a game, but I really enjoyed it. It is quite short, maybe 1-2 hours, but it is fleshed out by the achievements and Riddler side content.
Graphically it is quite impressive and there is a lot of detail in the content of the game. There is limited movement but the use of gadgets really help hide this. The scope of the Batcave is impressive and the sense of scale left me awestruck.
One thing to note is that oculus and quest controllers dont work natively. No matter what work around I tried, it just wouldnt recognised them. I used a gamepad instead, and honestly it didnt detract from the experience too much, for me at least. Obviously it would have been between with the quest controls however. Just something to keep in mind.
For a couple of quid on sale, this is a definite buy for me.
Fun tech demo for Batman's Arkham universe. Buy only while it's on sale, and if you're using Oculus Quest 2, be ready to change the controller's input to a community's one and force out Meta's software via dll or OVR.
Fun little VR Batman experience. Well done, but very limited in scope. As long as you don't expect a full fledged (or lengthy) game, you'll be satisfied. Make sure to purchase during a sale since it's only 1-1.5 hours long
I played this on a Quest 2 from my PC via Virtual Desktop. Took a while to get the controllers to work, but I sort of expected some of that with my setup.
The Good:
- The environments are really great, although a bit too shiny/plastic overall.
- The VR mechanics work pretty well, grabbing stuff tends to do what you expect, and moving around is easy.
The Bad:
- The main game is only about an hour long. You can replay to find extra stuff, though.
- You get to choose vehicles, but not drive them? Black screen full of car sounds, and then...hey, you're here!
[*] The ending of the story was really unsatisfying.
I got it for $5.00. I am still undecided on whether it was worth it. Definitely not worth $19.99 in my opinion.
So you see how I have almost an hour and a half logged into this thing? Yeah that was mostly my time testing after troubleshooting. This game made me jump through numerous hoops just for it to look decent and to recognize I had controllers connected.
The graphics, music and direction are decent and evocative of the Arkham games, but the plot is derivative and frankly stupid. It ends on a weirdly open and detached note that reads like a hastily written fanfiction that is far less clever than it thinks it is. Even fanfiction is a bit too generous a weird given how short this is. I bought it on a rather nice sale and I still feel ripped off. Not even hearing Kevin Conroy's performance was enough to redeem the value at all. You would honestly get roughly the same experience just watching someone play it on YouTube (which would maybe be a 10-20 minute viewing, maybe double that if they go for 100%).
All in all, can't say I recommend this 'game' at all.
cool
im not picky when it comes to vr games but this is ridiculous. its barely a game, i dont always follow reviews for vr games because a lot of people dont even play vr properly and dont give it a proper chance. however if anybody sees this let me tell you, its a waste of time dont bother, it just looks nice and thats it
