About the Game
Developed by Nerdook (Reverse Crawl, Vertical Drop Heroes), Monster Slayers is a complete reimagining of the free web-based hit of the same name, which has been played over 4 million times on gaming portal, Kongregate. A rogue-like deck-building RPG adventure, Monster Slayers uses an innovative card-based battle system and lets you customize a deck to suit your play style. Create a new hero to join the Monster Slayers Guild and choose your path through the perilous Northern Valley as you follow your quest to defeat the legendary Harbinger and become a true Monster Slayer.Features

Pros:
- All of the classes feel different and every class functions with 2-3 different deck builds
- Almost every deck build can go infinite which is really fun
- You can name your companions anything ridiculous!
- Items are varied and have a huge impact
- Gold is well balanced and your decisions on what to wear matters
- A lot of game for the money. It took me about 100 hours to beat every class on legendary mode.
cons:
- Some companions are massively better than others and it's almost worth restarting a run if you don't get the right companion at the start
- You occasionally have to wait on animations before being able to play the next card when going infinite
- After defeating the boss, if you go into survival mode, it does not play like the rest of the game. Not being able to uncover a map and decide on clutch healing detours sucks.
- Stops for infinites aren't guaranteed. If you see one and don't have it you HAVE to take it, even if there is a cooler option available
- Some alter choices are just never worth taking.
If you like deck builders, this is definitely one of the most fun I've played. It's not as hard as slay the spire or some of the other deck builders out there, but it's definitely more fun in a casual sense. By the time you get to the harbinger, if you built your deck right, you'll feel god-like.
enjoyable card battler
simple but good
Cute, straight forward, deck builder. Good unlock progression. No single path to victory and makes you change up your game plan. For the price, an easy choice!
I really like deck builders and roguelikes and this one seemed promising, but the gameplay just feels very low-quality.
It looks and plays like a mobile game. It is looked to 30 FPS and the animations and turns thus are choppy and very slow. If this game was not made to play and look like a mobile game, it could be fun. But this way it feels like it's just wasting your time, when all the turns could be done thrice as fast, if the turns and animations wouldn't feel so awfully slow.
