I still remember when I got the game, it was an accident...
My friend gave me a demo cd with a bunch of games on it and cossacks: back to war was one of em.
I kept play that one demo mission again and again...
I think STILL this is the best strategy game of all time, it amazes me how you can control thousands, big cities and navy fleets.
And it takes hundreds of hours to finish the game because there is so much missions in it and of course an editor too.
And this strategy game is unique because the game mechanics are so different than most of the other strategy games, you dont have to rush for resources, there is always a few mine places around you where you can get the resources from.
But it takes a long time to upgrade yourself and meanwhile you have to defend yourself too and thats why almost all of the missions takes 2-3 hours to finish, so this makes you feel like you are in a real hardcore war I think.
I had so much epic battles in this game
After a few sessions of play the game is crashing.
When starting the gamei am getting a pop-up message"Display mode 1024x768 not found. Cossacs should not run."
I can still open the game, but the change resolution option is not availaible. I can play only in 1024x768 mode

Great RTS
still my favourite RTS game to this day, i haven't seen many games that can have as many units on the map at the same time, you can actualy have epic line warfare battles that only total war games can compare, AOE games wish they were like Cossacks.

The enemy AI is very basic, repeats the same patterns all the time, and your soldiers are absolutely brainless, so you must keep an eye on all of them;
But still - absolutely one of my RTS favourites.
And thanks to the timeless isometric visualls it's aging gracefully :)

Don't be fooled by the description!
It says it contain ALL the content from previous games. Well, it doesn't contain ANY campaigns.
To my knowledge, that's content from the previous games.
You have to buy a separate DLC to get the campaigns.
If like me you're looking for playing single player, don't buy this. There's a package containing all the Cossaks before Cossaks 3, including the campaigns, buy that one instead.

Nostalgia Trip
I have been playing this game for probably a decade now. You can choose many modes of playing like the campaign or conquest. You can choose also many countries to play for the conquest mode. You are free to build buildings where you want if you have enough ressources. You can also play online with other real players. The graphisms are actually quiet good and the music is just awesome. I can't get tired off playing this game.

My childhood game, used to play it since its release! Best strategy out there!
This have been a childhood favorite of mine back when PCs were a lot more bulkier. It's a shame this game didn't get the recognition it deserves, but I would still highly recommend it if you like strategy games where you start with just a few builders and have to grow an empire to dominate your enemies.
I will leave the cat here, so that everybody who passes by can pet it and give it a thumbs up and awards
