In this horror adventure game, play as 11-year-old girl Aya Drevis and uncover the secrets of a bizarre incident that befalls the Drevis residence, where maniacal experiments are conducted night after night.
To arrive at the truth, you'll need to make use of chainsaws, knives, hammers, even bottles of eyeballs to explore every inch of the terrifyingly mad mansion.
This is a remade version of the original Mad Father. In addition to updates such as a total revamping of the in-game graphics, this remake adds brand new scenes and Blood Mode: a new second playthrough which alters the story.

My first ever rpgmaker game and man it was pretty fun absolutely enjoyed it from the story, music, atmosphere and the puzzles!!.
I would like to play more games like this one any suggestions? thanks
Its good, much to think about :Ib_Ib:
Probably one of the best horror RPGMaker-style games out there. It's got beautiful pixel art, a good story, good soundtrack and a good atmosphere.
It's also surprisingly fun to get all the achievements, unlike other similar games, where getting them can get tedious and repetitive pretty quickly.
I just wish Aya screams were a bit quieter, because holy fuck they're loud and annoying.
good story
i love you
i miss rpg maker games like this, once you see how the sprites look u know this shit gonna be fire
This game is a masterpiece
Truly a great game, look forward to 100%ing it!
this game takes time to do, but def play this !!! i really like this game and i've been likin it so far :3 I hadn't played the full thing YET but it's cool!! i got through most of it, i believe :3
one of my favorite games to watch game-plays of when I was younger, and now finally getting to play it for myself I can fully say its one of my favorite experiences ever. Such an awesome story and fun to play, i could've finished it within just one day with how short it was lol. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lighter horror style game!
I still remember stumbling across this gem back in my uni days (2013, to be exact). It was one of the reason I was interested in WolfRPG and studied the program as a hobby.
I was *deep* into horror games back then (still am, to be fair), and *Mad Father* had just the right blend of fear, dread, and stunning art to completely sweep me off my feet. I adored every second of it—blitzed through the whole thing in about three hours, unlocking all the achievements and artwork like a mad woman.
There’s just something so uniquely brilliant about this game. Aya’s little *la la la* still echoes in my head whenever I think about it. And the characters are absolutely fascinating! I love diving into each of their perspectives. Not to mention, the soundtrack is an absolute banger too.
So, when I heard it was coming to NSwitch, of course, I snapped it up and replayed it. And now, here I am on Steam, buying it *again*—because let’s be real, it's just that good, and I had to see all the changes they made. It’s been a treat spotting all the little tweaks, from the visuals to the sound effects, to the story plot/puzzles, and you can really tell how much thought went into it.
Anyway, I’m just a nostalgic fool gushing over this masterpiece. 💕
a cute little game that reminds me of my childhood. would recommend to fans of cozy games!
Класс игра типа а что если бы у меня был батя^^
This is my first game of this genre and I want to say that I really liked it!
The visuals, the plot and the gameplay, literally everything. I finished it in one go, so I recommend you to try it, because the game is really worth it. Espesially if you like horrors :)
The game is not too scary, but sometimes i really felt uncomfy cause of atmosphere, but not in a bad way.
It's really cool that there are additional stories to learn more about the characters and story.
nice
i love this game but i hate how blood mode retcons everything. its still a 10/10 classic tho
Pretty simple and short but it was really amazing.
Absolute gem
ya
Achievement Completion: 100%
Mad Father is what I would describe to be one of the staples of 2D anime horror RPGMaker games along with Ib and The Witch's House for some examples. Discovering the dark family secrets in this game kept it interesting whilst avoiding death and various game overs.
She's not as innocent as you think ;3
very good
This game was extremely good, I enjoyed it all, from the qte to the twisted story to the Jumpscares.
I can only recommend this game.
Bit short but worth it. I really enjoyed the game and reccomend it as the price is rather fair. Nothing in particular to complain about. Just a good game and worth it
crazy a$$ game
enjoyable enough game, but the true ending was so unsatisfactory it almost makes me regret playing it lol.
this game embedded itself into my brain a decade ago and is probably the origin of why i'm now deeply abnormal about insane father figures.
Masterpiece if you Love horror games you should definitely play Mad Father
Hell yeah
I was shot by tons of plot twists, overall a great game
its very good you must play
fatboi approved
Good game. My friend's scared of it so I think it did a great job. I like the plot twist, very unique
Such a good experience after so many years
Very fun <3 Played it before it was on steam, so glad it is here so more people can enjoy it.
Grew up listening to a friend talk about this game and i always wanted to play it. Im so glad I finally did its really good eeeek.
I liked how spooky it was. It didn't have to rely on jumpscares to create an eerie atmosphere and keep me entertained.
The 2020 remake of the game that contributed to my obsession with survival and psychological horror years ago did not disappoint in the slightest. Seeing the refreshed artstyle was truly fascinating, I adored solving the not so easy puzzles and occasionally dying to QTE because they were actually pretty quick and unexpected.
It's amazing that Mad Father still manages to be such an atmospheric, petrifying and beautiful creation in my eyes after so much time. As for the predictable and unpolished story - who cares, I had a blast experiencing it in it's refreshed form ;p
guys it's peak i like it
i played this back when i was in middle-high school, and since then ive loved rpg horror games, mad father is a really dear game to me, the story, gameplay, graphics and everything, i had so much fun playing it again
A classic horror RPG-maker. Puzzles actually felt fun to solve.
Proof that people with glasses aren't human
I never knew why, but this game always had a special place in my heart. I first saw it 2 years ago on Youtube and never stopped loving it ever since. The game itself isn't too long, but idc, it's still worth it. Ngl, I do feel like the 2 other bonus modes don't really bring anything new except for little extra lore, but why not replay absolute cinema right?
Mad Father is a cool RPGMaker horror game, mainly story driven so it's hard to review without spoilers.
The game has standard RPGmaker gameplay but with some unique quick time event interactions in the horror space, which I really enjoyed and was super fun to do. There's multiple endings, and some with collectables you have to get which aren't the hardest honestly which can give you some extra content.
But overall, I think the story was great, tense in many ways and I did feel genuinely for a lot of the characters. IMO the "true" ending did sort of let it down, but I won't spoil much of it and after all that is subjective, personally I didn't think it was the best but the game does many things well.
It's a short 3 hour experience and does deliver for what it is so I have to give it a 7/10
Mad Father ain't too bad of a game,
A friend recommended it to me and I gave it a shot while it was on sale,
If you yearn for an old school rpg maker horror game with all of bells and whistles it comes with, Mad Father is a good enough purchase, though I would still say only get it on sale as I find it too expensive at full price, at half price it's a fair enough purchase to collect dust in your steam library.
Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to uninstall it to save space.
I'm honestly so happy I came across this game while randomly browsing! At first it was a bit confusing and seemed to throw you right into the story, but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. I enjoyed the entire game, the characters, and the main story it was the perfect "adventure horror" to dive into. I'm looking forward to the other modes and getting all the achievements!
Its a little bit confusing at first but onse the storyline really starts taking shape it's a lot more fun, playing it so far for about 4 hours and got a ending. Will come back to get them all at some point down the line, It also reminds me of other games such as Alice madness and her backstory too. Would recommend giving it a try.
if i knew my child will side with her cheating murders father i'm aborting her.
A game for true sigmas 10/10.
Also one of my favorite horror RPG game.
I feel like the quizzes in this game is a bit difficulty (or I'm just having skill issue T_T).
