- What is "The Men of Yoshiwara: Ohgiya"?
This is a romance game for women, with the famous Yoshiwara pleasure districts as the setting -- but with the roles of men and women reversed!

- The Story
Deep in the center of an island lies the Yoshiwara pleasure district. Never does its beauty, nor bustling activity, wane in the slightest.
Full of doubt and wonder, which courtesan will you have chosen by the end of a seemingly endless night?

- The Guys
Takigawa
The most popular courtesan at Ohgiya in the pleasure district. He conceals a lonely secret in the guise of arrogance.

Asagiri
A free and wild spirit who refuses to be tamed. He is a truly self-indulgent lover of women, and is like a little brother to Takigawa.

Gakuto
A confident and rugged courtesan. He holds a certain ambition, but has a lovable side to him...

Utsusemi
Grew up as an orphan. He holds his companions above all others, but seeks to uncover his true parents.

Ageha
A young man yet to take a customer, knowing neither love nor woman. He is looked after by Gakuto.

THIS IS NOT A CORN GAME.

Sweet, simple, cheesy read and I'm eating it all up. Considerably more polished than Kikuya as to the writing & dialogue. However, THE LACK OF CGs ARE A CRIME (Only 3 to 4...? per route).

I love that the MC is not a doormat, she's considerably bratty at times & i love the business minded aspect though shallowly put at times and her personality differs with each route as opposed to Kikuya's Mary Sue MC that just drives the immersion away.

Anyways, for route recommendations:

Asagiri's route tackles the dynamics of Yoshiwara and the Mc's feelings quite well

as he basically whores himself out to help MC's family, and MC struggles with seeing her beloved be pimped out .

Props to Asagiri for knowing what he wants, who he is, and being more of a fleshed out character tbh, very refreshing. Also, very steamy route

Moving forward, Ageha's route is absolutely adorable first romance type of stuff, it felt pure despite the suggestive CGs, which by the way are top tier, Ageha's CGs beat Asagiri's imho. Felt like watching a cute puppy love turned into more.

To end though, one last complaint, or two: IT IS A CRIME THAT MUSASHI DOESNT HAVE A ROUTE, I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH WHOEVER MADE THAT DECISION, also, maybe just me idk, but Utsusemi's sprite could have been improved upon :/ .

In 2024, understanding men feels harder than ever. Their tangled emotions and confusing thoughts make it exhausting to respond in a meaningful way. My mind wich is constantly overthinking and trying to make sense of everything, is just burned out.

That’s why I’ve decided to simplify things. Like in technical drawing, I’ll start with the basics—studying “2D men” to figure out how their minds work. Once I’ve got that down, I think I’ll be able to understand “3D men.” more better.

The game keeps freezing, especially during choices, and the menu is useless during gameplay. My PC meets all the requirements, but this game is virtually unplayable. It's too bad because the story seemed interesting.

I'm going to keep this as short as possible because I've already spent way too many hours playing these two games. I can definitely say that this game is better than the first one, indefinitely? But the problems that Kikuya had also somewhat carry over to Ohgiya. I do not recommend this series... they really... they're truly disappointing in every sense? Like no matter what you have signed up for or thought you'd get from these games, they ALWAYS fail to fucking deliver. If you want smut, it's boring/uneventful/not really the main focus. If you want good characters, they (almost) all have some kind of twist to them that makes them VERY unlikeable in my opinion. If you want a good story, it's littered with unnecessary drama and badly handled character motivations. The plot is filled with holes. The worldbuilding is more solid than it was in Kikuya, but it's genuinely still baffling how much I have to turn my brain off to enjoy this. Even when I did, I couldn't fully even have a just mellow, normal, dramaless route, because it just... was chock filled with those. The side stories really don't add anything to the love story and whatnot. The only route I've somewhat liked is Takigawa's, and I wasn't even sold on him beforehand. Everything disappointed me, and the price tag of this game is just not worth it. I'm a completionist so I forced myself to suffer through everything and read all of it before I inflicted my judgement upon it, but it's just CRAZY how much lost potential this game (and Kikuya alongside it) has. Somewhat infuriating. If Musashi ever gets a route/dlc/whatever (he probably won't), I will play it and then die on the inside if it's as bad at the rest of the routes. Like, if you want to spend money on something, spend it somewhere else honestly. This game and the previous one are not worth it. If you STILL want to play one of these two games, then choose for Ohgiya, so you escape the SA and the other potentially triggering scenes in Kikuya. That's all I have to say.
