Описание
Medusa turned the witch into stone, so she is no longer able to move. So it’s up to the hero to defeat the monsters and collect their blood in order to recover the witch for a limited duration. The witch’s destructive magic easily destroys monsters, but you will have to rely on the hero’s will power primarily. He is able to try and try again, but the witch cannot, thus the hero must protect her.

Defending the witch since the Nintendo 3DS
not booting rn
I played this back on 3DS and really enjoyed it.
I went back through it again on Steam and still liked it.
It can be a little grindy but the gameplay is deeper than it may appear.
So good
One of the best games of my childhood. I really like the artwork and gameplay. Its simple but fun.
One downside is, its really short. I played through the main story in about 2 hours.
I wish the developer would port Part 2 and 3 to PC aswell.
Wait for it to be on sale. Its on sale for usually 80 cents. And its defenitly worth that.
An engrossingly fun and quick little game.
Hints:
1) To quit the game on Windows 10 you seem to need to use ctrl+alt+delete (or ctrl+shift+esc) and do so in Task Manager. I couldn't find any other way.
2) The witch's flame spell has great utility.
i have played this game in my 3ds many years ago, now i have the chance to play it on pc, thanks, i really think it's really good game with this "bump mechanic", and i really enjoyed my time with this, i really think it's such a cute game <3
Wow. I only ever played the handheld demo, and I gotta say this game is a lot more frantic than the demo. I can understand why another review complains about twin stick controls for a certain stage - it really does make things way easier. Mouse and keyboard kept it a bit challenging, but the original controls would have been harder still. But that stage was cool either way.
It's like classic Ys mixed with one of those games where a turret in the center of the map needs to be defended. It's like a FF14 healer is down and black mage won't do mechanics simulator. The other games in the series show 魔女/Witch moving around, so now I'm itching to play those.
Too little game content, but take long time to farm exp.&gold.

There are 2 sequels, yet to be released on Steam.
It is not a bad game but it become very repetitive and grindy to be able to advance from stage to stage at some points, especially early on when you have to rely on the Knight alone, once you are able to activate the Witch it become a bit more fun but that's almost halfway through the game already and it's not a long game.
Chests bumping you all over the place gets annoying, it can be used at your advantage but it's hard to be precise and most of the time it's more annoying than useful. Sometimes a chest will be almost invisible under an enemy or spawn right in your face and suddenly the knight gets slingshot-ed all over the place, stopping you from saving the witch in time.
Controls are a bit weird without a controller, it works but takes a bit to get used to.
It is a pretty unique concept but there are better and longer Tower Defence games available on Steam, I would pick this one only if you want something different and not over-complicated. It's also not that much of a tower defense, your only tower is the Witch and you have to constantly gather blood and drop it on her to activate her for a very small moment. Short stages and simple gameplay probably works better for short session on handheld or mobile, it was a 3DS game first after all.
Happy cute tiny little budget game that's very simple and quick.
I remember playing this game on the 3DS, i could never get past the final stage. I still had loads of fun playing it though, and the soundtrack is just amazing, I'd highly recomend this game to people who like having a challenge, especially with the advanced mode that you unlock after beating normal mode.
This is just a simple fun casual game that is great for downtime when you want to have fun and build towards something such as HP, MP and EXP. It simple style of play makes it great for when you want to play a game but are not able to invest long periods of time... Of course the problem I have is once I start playing this I can't stop. Highly addictive - great game!
One of the best game I ever played, good and short history/lore, good difficulty, good progression system, very nice music, in particular last boss one.
For 0,75€ in promo, it's very nice, but not AAA, don't expect too much content.

As the Hero you have to defend the Witch from being attacked, over 20 stages full of monsters and loot, to gain XP and improve your gear. If you do not expect much more than that, this action-rpg may be enjoyable.
I loved to grind some stages on the 3DS being on the move. Unfortunately it does not feel the same on the PC screen. The controls are okay on the stages, but somehow inaccurate inside the shop. There are no relevant ingame settings, just a quick resolution change was added.
Sadly the Game appears to not support proper keyboard input. You'd be stuck in the title screen searching for the "start button". My wireless 360 controller does work, if turned on before starting the game.

FINAL IMPRESSION OF THE GAME

Before we get started, I should mention that this used to be a first impression review of the game after I bought it and played through the original version on the Nintendo 3DS. Some comments in the comment section may not add up to things written here, now that I actually finished playing through the steam port.
With that said, Let us begin and keep this short because english isn't my native language and the grammar mistakes become more apparent if I keep going on any longer. This is my final impression after playing through this on the regular difficulty.
Like I said before, this game originally came out on Nintendo's handheld the 3DS and was followed by a sequel a couple of months after. This game is an action-rpg that puts high emphasis on a tower-defense-, arcade-like feeling and stage progression. It was a nice little game that worked they way it was intended to be, but didn't really stood out and was good for short sessions... on a handheld!

POSITIVES:
+ Colorful 8-bit graphic for characters
+ Minor changes in graphics and animation
+ Instead of two screens you get one with everything
+ The use of both sticks for each character instead of the shoulder buttons
+ Controlling two characters works fine and isn't confusing for hands and eyes
+ Arcade-like RPG with stage progression
+ Time attack and survival mode after playing through the game once
+ A game for short sessions in between
+ Easy to get into
+ The cheat codes from the 3DS still work on this version
NEGATIVES:
- The use of 8-bit character sprites doesn't fit in some parts with the 16-bit backgrounds of the stages
- Stage backgrounds really look like they came straight out of RPG-Maker
- Minor changes in graphics and animation, which doesn't amount to anything
- You can control two characters, but you don't have to. Just set the witch on wind magic and you don't have to aim at all and got one hand free for other stuff
- The final and only true boss battle has become insultingly easy after a certain change in the port
- Despite the arcade-like nature of the game, you will get bored after a short while
- No reward in playing through the game and that "unlockable function" was not worth it
- Time attack and survival mode should feel like rewards, but they don't...
- The "cheat codes" unless they added new ones, are actually the friggin' difficult settings of the game
- It gets really repetitive after a while, but that was a also a problem of the handheld version
- The (to me) useless update for the screen size to be changed through Alt+Enter, despite the fact that the size could already be changed through pressing F1 on the keyboard. Unfortunaly the instructions for this are almost completely obscured by the english title on the title screen and only become visible after changing the language to either japanese or chinese! Seriously, WHY!?
- Barebones option menu that only allows you to change either language or which stick should be used for either of the two characters
- The game sound cannot be changed from within the game itself

OVERALL:
Well, that final impression turned out to be mor negative than my initial first impression of the steam port. And yet it still gets the thumbs up from me. Why? Because I still enjoyed the game for what it was even though some flaws became more apparent on the bigger screen. The game really works as a nice little distraction for a few minutes and just like on the 3DS, everything works the way it was intended to be. It's just a shame that the game feels like it has less to offer on the big screen than on two tiny ones.
If you already own the original and the sequel on 3DS, then there is no reason to buy the steam port. Those who don't own any of the two games, should really consider if there isn't any better alternative to this.
