Shadowhand is a strategic RPG card game. Duel powerful enemies with unique solitaire-style turn-based combat. Equip your character strategically to sneak, slice and blast through foes!

We follow the story of Lady Cornelia Darkmoor, a beguiling young aristocrat who masquerades as the notorious highwaywoman, Shadowhand. Fleeing a crime scene and forced to act under the cover of darkness, Shadowhand's mission to safeguard a woman she holds dear leads to a web of corruption, smuggling and blackmail.

Your fortune and freedom are at stake! Combining an historical visual novel narrative with a card-driven RPG, Shadowhand's story spans 22 chapters of atmospheric locations including stormy coastlines, mysterious woods and gloomy manors. Featuring over 150 levels of elegant and intense single-player card action, players must dodge the law and brawl with outlaws in turn-based combat, gaining abilities to customize their character and collect new weapons, gear and loot.

This is a great iteration on solitaire from a company with a great track record of innovation. The duel format is interesting, and the stacked card layouts are generally creative. Most of the achievements seem to be unlocked in a standard run of Very Hard Mode, thanks to the high goal requirements needed to pass the last two levels. I definitely appreciate that beating the game on the highest difficulty completes the achievements for the lower difficulties.
My main objection is that some duels are to apparent death while others are to enemy surrender, but the ratio of survivors to apparent kills is heavily in favor of kills, including some guards the protagonist states she'd rather not be fighting. She definitely comes across as more of an antihero than I am generally comfortable playing.
For some reason, I had started this game twice and then lost the save file with my furthest progress for years. Fortunately, the default launch of Steam Sync on my new computer (somehow??) managed to recover and install the correct save file. I'm definitely happy to finally finish this game with a complete achievement run.
Play the version without the combat. The solitaire and powers are really cool but the combat is half baked and insanely frustrating to get 3 stars on. It never feels like it's in your control, all that matters is getting lucky and not giving the AI a combo (which, again, completely out of your control).
Fun card game. I like the addition of the duels to just playing cards. Adds a fun mix to things. Solitaire with flair!
I can't believe I bought a solitaire game....Wait....I......can't believe I'm geeking out over a solitaire game. It really is that good.
Solitaire....go figure? Seriously, buy it.
Loving it!! :]
It's a kind of solitaire card game that includes a little story along the lines of a visual novel.
For whatever reason it just didn't connect with me.
Really chill Solitaire game, with enough additions and amendments to make for a fun challenge.
I have reached some what at the middle of the storyline in the game, and till now i have liked the game. This is my first card battler/Solitaire game and hence, i had to get used to the mechanics of such games when i started playing it. However, i quickly got used to the mechanics while playing, thanks to the coherency and proper descriptions in the game.
Graphics are nice and set in a Victorian England setting and gives a "Sleepy Hollow" feeling, which were deciding factor for me, while purchasing the game. Sounds in the game complements the battles and helps to avoid monotony. I wished developer had included some supernatural enemies and events which would have increased the variety in the game play and in the story line.
I played Shadowhand Solitaire first, not realizing this was the original game! While the story is the same for both games, I actually preferred this as an RPG and the game mechanics of this game to Shadowhand Solitaire. And it took me playing this version for me to realize Lady Cornelia is Lady Fleetwood from Regency Solitaire. So I love that this is a fun backstory for her!
Great twist on one-up, one-down solitaire making it considerably more challenging than the typical games of this genre. Also a well-done storyline and details. The layouts seem more challenging than many card games, even though only about 25% are turn-based battles.
It's the duels with the opponents which made this game really interesting for me, as there's a lot of strategizing involved with picking out your weapons, clothing, gear, and card playing abilities to best arm yourself against each different character you meet. The last few chapters of the 22 chapters total are grindy if you want to 3 star everything.
If you like the concept of this game but battles aren't for you, there's a purely casual version of this game available.
I had never tried a solitaire card battler game and was skeptical. I actually found this quite fun! definitely worth a try.
This combo of solitaire and combat rocks. It's super satisfying to add another level of strategy to the usual pretty relaxed solitaire play. Plus the story is fun.
Better than playing solitaire. Most games of solitaire cannot be beaten, but in this game you get to win most of the hands if you play well and use the gear, right weapons, etc. Yes, randomness plays a role, but you can prepare with the right tools for each battle (it is not a guaranteed victory, of course).
Great Improvement on the Regency Solitaire formula. I dig dig the solitaire fight mechanics. This was my go-to game when being haunted by depression and anxiety for some time. The story is a little convoluted and after a few levels I did not care anymore but the solitaire game play is solid.
Fun little rpg built around solitaire. The mechanics are straightforward, fun and rewarding. 7/10
Excellent. Lots of fun with interesting items and power ups. Intriguing story to drive the card mechanic based game.
All the best parts of regency solitaire and more gameplay on top of it. Highly recommend
Shadowhand is a solid and very tactical Card Game from the makers of Regency Solitaire. The story is well written and the art is beautiful. It is not very hard to get all the achievements. The gameplay is really addicting, sometimes you need luck on your side, but with the right combination of weapons and consumables you can master every level. It is especially fun to create long combos for epic overkills! I recommend to pick this up at a discount and become the legendary highwaywoman with a secret identity!
Took me longer to get all of the achievements on Shadowhand than it did with Regency Solitaire, but the gameplay is so addicting that it wasn't a trial. It's also fun to try different combinations of clothing or weapons for stat bonuses and see how it affects gameplay and strategy.
Tiny spoiler - this game provides some background story for characters in the Regency Solitaire game.
