I really wanted to like this because the concept is so cool. I would love for someone to give it another go. But I didn't really like the comic or the combat. Game-play was okay, but very repetitive, and the presentation isn't great. I thought the comic's art looked better, but still not great, and the story didn't grab me. I think the biggest problem was too many characters. Not enough screen time for each coupled with their uninspired designs means I lost interest. Which is a shame because I thought the intro was really strong. I liked the alien design quite a bit.
Highly recommended for fans of comics, mutants, super powers, and turn-based battles. It is only the length of a comic, but the price is right. A steal on sale. I really hope they make lots more, we need more comic games.

Quite weird stuff. It's literal, digital comic book, and quite nice digitalization as well. It's not just a VN or a scanned comic book, you don't just read page by page, but you got dramatic panel by panel reveals, whole page panning, focus on dialogues, etc. The art and story are the good part of old 80s superhero comic, if you like old X-Men comics you'd find the art and writing feel very familiar, and even enjoyable.
And in between readings, you do turn based rpg battle, with quite some strange twist. At first it starts simple, but basically, you can only field limited amount of member at a time but each member has specific interaction with other member. So you must think what combination should be on the field at any time, and what formation you want to do since different formations give different benefits.
Basically, weird but good. Not sure about replayability or length, I assume it got as much replayability as any other comic book. And you can actually remove the battle part and just read it as a comic book. Get it when it's discounted.
Not usually a fan of such things as this, except in this case it is something that is greater than the sum of all parts.
It just works really well and is an entertaining experience.
Bought on sale and well worth every penny.
I would like to see more of this kind of game. I guess that means that I am now a fan of this kind of thing.

I previously bought the book from comixology, so I knew what to expect (some of the panels are absolutely breathtaking)
Nebula is a bit underpowered imo, but all in all, at least in the normal difficulty level, it's a balanced game.
This is a fairly short but very nice turn based strategy game that progresses through reading a comic. I am not sure why there have not been more reviews of it and can only surmise that it has flown under the radar for some time DUE to the fact that it does not have an approval rating. The graphics are colourful and surprisingly good at this game's price point and the story and the comic you play through is also fairly well made. I encourage anyone who likes TBS to snap it up and provide reviews of their own and I really can't understand why it has been overlooked for so long.
*IMPORTANT* one word of warning - the devs have provided the comic itself in both high and low rez pdf. Do NOT, as I did, read that comic before you play the game as you will then know the story you play through spoiling the experience somewhat.

I had some reservations about buying this but wound up pretty satisfied with what I found. So In a nutshell this is a superhero comic book that let's you play out the battle's yourself via a turn-based battle system. The quality of the story suffers a bit from trying to cram in all the heroes (and the villians) flashbacks but overall it's a solid b-movie plot and the characters abilities are interesting enough to make the graphic title interesting enough in it's own right. The turn based battle system also came together pretty well and overall I would say this game/interactive fiction/whatever you call it was more than the sum of it's parts.
The turn based battles do require some strategic thinking. As there is no progression per level the interactions between different heroes abilities and the way they effect the villians become the focus. If your a fan of superhero team comics that concept in and of itself is a tried and true one. Recently other games like Sentinels of the Universe (digital and desktop) and Marvel Legendary have allowed fans a chance to interact and dictate the various battle royales of the mighty warriors from . This game takes that concept and blends it together well with a comic book itself. Introducting the players/readers to characters via the battle system is as far as I know a unique concept and I really enjoyed playing through this.
If your a fan of comic books and/or choose your own adventure games this game is definetly worth taking a long look at this title.

Art Style - I liked this pretty well and had somewhat of a nostalgia feel to it for me but nothing groundbreaking here

Music - I turned it off after 3 minutes and made my own mix
Zero Replay Value - If you want to bump up the difficulty maybe but that's not really getting it done for me
The Graphics/Comic Book Cutout look to the Turnbased battles.....felt kinda of cheesy but without the cheekiness and self awarness of a game like CardHunter or Epic.
Small Number of Heroes (would like to see an expanded roster if they ever make a followup)
Overall I would consider this an experience worth looking into if your looking to try something different or just miss the superhero comic books you grew up reading.

Really enjoyed the story so far, it got this nice feeling of X-Men styled group of talented young poeple mixed with Superman space adventures.
I'll also really dig the art style!
The gameplay is decent, there are many numbers and info to follow but it got real meat in it.
I think it will please any comic books lover or turn based tactical player.
Hope to see more ComixPlay (maybe with even a bigger licence? :))

Great little indie, I love the idea
The game is a bit too hard for me, but once you understand all the options it's fun.
Really nice concept - the plot of the game is a comix(a real one, with drawings and a story, not just "comixbased" design) and the game is the battles of the comix plot(turn based).
First battles were simple, I won just by shooting at the enemies, but then it became more and more challenging, unlocking more characters and abilities..
Very cute, specially for that price.
A love letter to comics, the story is great (I'm still around the middle), I really like the idea of a comic book within the game.
